Another mostly rainy day here. Sigh. And it's moving east - just giving all y'all a heads up!
News on the Seattle shooting is somewhat good - 4 of the 7 victims have been released from the hospital. The last 3 are improving. One of the "victims" apparently was one of the shooters, so they have him in custody and they know who the other two are. I'm sure they'll get them before long. It apparently was a drug deal gone bad and the victims got caught in the crossfire. There was another shooting at the same location the evening before. And the reason the cops got there so fast for this big shooting is because they were already on scene of another incident only 4 blocks away! Though in that case, it was the cops doing the shooting. Score one for the good guys! Seattle has really gone downhill since the present mayor took office 5 years ago. We were so surprised when she was re-elected. Her policies - or lack thereof - have practically handed the city over to the bad guys. So glad we don't live there. We are across Puget Sound, on the Olympic Peninsula.
Yesterday I did a short list of uglies - kitchen, bathroom, swept floors, did one load of laundry - and then spent the rest of the day working on my Country Charmer. It's a fun quilt but each 8-1/2" block has 53 pieces so it's slow going. I have 4 of 20 done and all the rest are cut and in small baggies. This morning I have a chiro appt, then will probably swing by the grocery store for a few items. Then home to clean the second bathroom and do another load of wash before hitting the sewing room. If it's not raining too heavy, the boys might meet me after shopping to walk.
Bill's niece is a family social worker in another county at the coast and posted a notice yesterday on FB about a fundraising Valentine dinner/dance being held at a resort/casino on the coast. Since we love dancing, dining, and it will be over our anniversary, we bought tickets and I'm really looking forward to it. The casino has RV parking so we'll take the trailer and the boys with us. It's about 120 miles from us. Bill's sis, dbil, niece, and her dh are also going which will make it all the more fun. Maybe we'll make a short little trip out of it rather than just a one-nighter.
IRISH - I thought I remembered your sister was having a second knee surgery this month, but wasn't sure. Glad it's over and done with and now she just needs to recover! Sending her get well hugs! And speaking of hugs - OMG! What a wonderful surprise you had!! I bet you were over the moon! Is Nick staying with you, or did he just stop by? Bet this next week will have some happy family times! So much going on in your life right now!
BECCA - I didn't realize that the DGD starting the bakery was Wren & Co's mom! She is one busy lady!! But it's usually busy people who succeed! I wish her well!
BECKY - shopping is fun! And it's always good to know just what you want when the opportunity to buy finally presents itself. And I have to agree with JANA - if your kids lived here, they would probably be hungry or cooking for themselves most of the time!

LORI - how far do you live from R2CA? I wonder how it compares to Houston. I've been to Houston twice. It took me 2 days to just go through the vendors and I skipped 2/3 of them! I took an hour and raced through the quilts.
JANA - hope you got your cars all squared away.
As for our supper - It's really soup or chili weather. Should I finally try that dill pickle soup recipe? How bad can it be? I'm really curious about it. But I better have a Plan B ready to go just in case. hmmmm....Subway isn't too far away . . . . Or we could simply have pancakes and sausages. There we go! Plan "A" and Plan "B", and if we get desperate, Plan "C"! Stay tuned . . . .
