SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve!!

Good morning!

Today is Christmas Eve! Ever since I was little, it's been the most magical day/night of the year for me! I love it! It's a lot quieter now with all the kids gone and doing their own things, and I miss the hubbub but I still manage to make the magic happen for us. We're going to supper tonite at friends', Tex & Annette. They said we're having chicken alfredo. Made us laugh because after some discussion, that is what Bill & I decided to have for our own Christmas dinner. What are the odds of that?? So when Bill was out yesterday he picked up a little Black Forest ham for our Christmas. Also, today, I want to make cemetery visits. I take silk flowers, usually poinsettias to my parents, grandparents, Mike, and Roy. Any remaining hours will be filled with - you guessed it! - sewing! And maybe one load of laundry.

TINA - oh dear! You know, when we make plans, God laughs, don't you? I hope Holly is feeling better soon. Did she get a flu shot? Every week the news reports that the flu is hitting especially early and especially hard this year. And they say even if you still get the flu, it will be a much milder case. Sorry the other so-called 'adult' in her house is the one that's in her house. Not sure why she lets him stay, but we all make our own beds in life. She's so lucky to have you and Frankie to pick up the slack for them. And you know what - Christmas will happen even if there aren't any cookies, cakes, or pies. Ham, you need. Christmas calls for ham. :) Seriously, wish I was there to help out!

MARY ROSE - did you get all your sewing done? I bet Emily is as big a help as our Foxy. Fox is about 16 pounds and calls the shots here, and when he decides to lay on some fabric and just sit and blink he eyes at me, daring me to move him, it pretty much shuts down the project until he decides to move on.

BECCA - Hope that truck still isn't in your yard! Set another place for dinner! lol! I think I read that you are having 14 at your house. That's quite a crowd! Tonite or tomorrow? Will the twins be there? It's going to be a happy time!

JANA - Did you get all that wrapping done? It always gets done, even if it's major crunch time. And as for baking, never forget frosting! It can cover a multitude of problems. We watch the Great British (or now American) Baking Show and they frost their mistakes out of sight! lol! And Yes, I think everyone was surprised at that Seahawk loss to AZ last Sunday. But we had 3 major players out with major injuries - cracked hip, fractured arm, torn ACL, - and after Sunday we had 3 more players out! We just heard last night that the Hawks have coaxed Marshawn Lynch out of retirement so he will be back on our offensive field next Sunday night, so we'll see what happens! It's going to be a wild game! You are having your big prime rib dinner tonite with all your family, right? SO MUCH FUN!

I think CHICKIE is having all of Doyal's family for dinner tomorrow and it's going to be some different kinds of pasta, I believe. And we know IRISH is having fun with Tim & Kathy, and the babies!

So tonite will be supper at Tex & Annette's. Just the four of us. Chicken alfredo. And we might play a game. Almost everyone I know, incuding our two grandsons, have been spending holiday evenings playing board games. So nice to hear people are putting down their electronics and gathering around the table together.

What are YOU doing tonite?

Good morning!
I got up early to start things and just see where I end up LOL
Mary, no Holly didn't get a flu shot, I'm so upset with her! All 4 of these 30's year olds have rocks in their heads! They wine about getting a little flu shot but every one of them have tattoos! I chewed her out yesterday again and she's like ok ok I'll get a flu shot! She thinks she's dying. I told her, would you rather feel like this for a week or 2 or get a shot that you may feel for 3 seconds. Ugh grrr! Ok, so now you all know how I feel about flu shots! LOL all of our grands get them, I make sure even if I'm the one taking them.
I think she lets him stay because if they got a divorce he'd get the kids without her being there to supervise.
Becca, I did those jobs yesterday, thank goodness LOL and I did get my pecan sandies made, I think they're like what you all call snowballs and such?
I got up at 6, I forgot to make my red chili yesterday for my red chili meat tonight, I do Mexican food on Christmas Eve, I think it's only going to be me and Frankie though tonight. My SIL still hasn't answered about Christmas Eve yet, sometimes she waits till 6 and says come over at 7-8 LOL she's really in a funk since Thanksgiving and her son doing that to them.
Well I just need 1 more pie crust to make and then I'm getting supper pot in the crock pot. I have a list of want to makes, we'll see how much I actually make 🤣😂 I do have peanut butter cookie dough in the fridge getting cold so I can make peanut butter cookies! I'll be taking breaks and putting my feet up when I can.
I hope you all have a great Christmas Eve and a very Merry Christmas! I'm not sure if I'll make it back on tomorrow.
Hugs to you all!
Tina

Good Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas to all y'all! May it be a Christmas filled with wonderful memories of the past and creating memories for the future. I have been remembering many of those from my past. My little grands are always wanting to know of family stories. I hope they remember and share with their children too.

Dinner - my part, the roast, needs to get to room temp, so it will come out of the fridge in a few minutes. I also am cooking the green beans.

Need to scoot, still wrapping,

Enjoy,
Jana

Just a quick stop over to tell you all to have the best holiday! Appreciate your friendship more than you will know.
I had running to do for two of the grands this morning, and had to go by the bank, so picked up a couple of pizzas that are the take and bake kind...that is our supper tonight, and I am home now, so have a dozen or so gifts to wrap, floor to vacumn, and then maybe a few more batches of cookies and candy....will be fine if I don't get to them, but if I can, I will.
Blessings to you and yours for the holidays and the coming New Year....Becky

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I have had the baking done for weeks or so I thought. I had a wisdom tooth out 10 days ago and am not able to eat nuts, so today I made some cookies without any nuts. We also decided to clean the house with a sick cat in the house the floors needed sweeping. However we are glad she (the cat) is still with us so glad to clean up. The house looks great and we are all ready. Tonight will be steak and baked potato for dinner and tomorrow will be turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy. Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow with family.

Weather is supposed to be very rainy and cold. Right now it is 59*, some of you would consider that mild and in Southern California it is considered cold. Funny huh?
