SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Dec 13th

Good morning,
Friday the Thirteenth - let the good luck surround us! lol! I started the day by snarfling a big beautiful black cat. For luck.
Yesterday I made 5 dozen snowball cookies to package up for my son and 2 grandsons for whenever I see them next. And Bill got his share, too. I also got 2 blocks from FGV II finished (rooster & cat blocks) and started the pumpkin block. I am making them all 6-1/2". I'll finish the pumpkin block (my last one) this morning. It's slow going to make a 6" block that has 51 pieces! Then I'll make some chocolate peanut butter cupcakes to take to a luncheon tomorrow. When they are done I'll start putting together the Nov lotto blocks that I received from my SS, Valerie. I've only had those blocks 5 days. How long have I got until they earn the moniker "UFO"? They are still sitting on my work table at the moment. They haven't even made it into the UFO box yet (which is EMPTY right now!).
The landscape crew arrives this morning to start work. They will remove a large rotten stump in the back yard and help Bill level the RV site. Then they are going to revamp the front - removing about a foot of old dirt, relocate the 3 rhodies and a small dogwood to the back yard, bring in new dirt, rebuild the low brick wall, and then put in new plants. It will be so nice to get rid of of old invasive species that are trying to take over everything! It's getting too hard to fight them every year. They say they can do all of this in two days. So you can see, my weekend is going to be full!
JANA - the photos (over in the PHOTO section) of your doll and her wardrobe are charming! Karlie will love it! and no, I think the landscaping project will go on. Today should only be a few intermittant showers. The dirt will be easier to dig for the good soaking it had yesterday. and yes, this line of storms will head your way. You're welcome. Right now our mountains are getting anywhere from 1-4 FEET of snow. Snoqualmie Pass was shut down westbound yesterday for snow. It might still be closed.
TINA - I sure hope you don't catch whatever the kids and Holly have. There is a school in Seattle that they shut down yesterday because of Norvirus. The entire school is being disinfected today. I thought immediately of your family. Sounds like your SIL is a major waste of skin. I'm sorry Holly can't seem to see the light. Must be SOOO frustrating for you and Frankie to witness.
BECCA - Time was, it wasn't Christmas if I didn't make at least 12 different cookies and candies and then Christmas braid coffee cakes on top of that. But no more. I might make one more batch of ordinary cookies just because Bill loves to have them to snack on. But I don't keep the cookie jar stocked all the time. He can go through 3 dozen cookies in 3 days! So I only bake occasionally.
CHICKIE - sorry about the 7#. I didn't mean to drop them off on you! Sounds like your life is still full to the brim, but settling down a bit with more normal stuff. I bet your Hooligans have missed you! What did you sew yesterday?
IRISH - I think you did tell us once that your Kathy's ex was "Tim" and Tim's ex was "Kathy". What are those odds? I guess though it wipes out the risk of those embarrassing slips. Bill and I made a deal when we got married that if he called me Nancy or I called him Mike or Roy that it meant nothing and we would just laugh it off. But it was kind of bad when Mike and I had been married 10 years and I was introducing him to someone once and totally blanked on his name! He had to prompt me!!
That house sounds like a good thing if you are interested. Stairs can be good exercise if you can do them. But I swear, my next house won't have any!! Those cross-stitch projects you are finishing for Cindy's family will be treasures. Can't believe you are getting them done so quickly! I've broken a tooth 3 times in my life - all on soft foods! My dentist says as you chew, soft foods form a suction around your tooth and if there is a serious crack, it will pull the tooth apart. Hope it's not too big a deal to fix. I HATE dental work! But then, I guess everyone does.
I haven't given supper much thought, but I think it will be baked chicken with sweet potatoes and asparagus. I can pop everything into the oven and relax!
How about you?
