Here I am! Whew! those computer updates are a real pain. I didn't plan it to be update day but the battery in my 'puter died years ago so it has to stay plugged in. I accidentally dislodged the cord when I set my computer down this morning after my sew-in post to go get another cup of coffee before starting the Supper Club. When I restarted it, it automatically went into update mode. Grrr!! Someday Santa might bring me a new computer, but for now, I'll just try to stay close to the outlet!
TINA - thanks for getting us started! Good to hear Dad is some improved. I'm anxious to hear what your dr says.
CHICKIE - you are really chasing your tail these days! I'm glad you and the Hooligans got in a road trip, complete with treats! Your visits with your DD are way too short! Hope Doyle's appt has good results.
JANA - good to hear you beat the bunnies back! I'm not really decorating. I just got out my dishes - which are winter themed, not Christmas, and my quilts and table runners. Since we're having a dinner party tonite and I didn't have any TG decorations out - mostly because I really don't have any - I wanted the place to look pretty. But this weekend, I will delve into the more serious decorations! lol! Please thank Sarah for me for all the tips. I forgot I have a BALL cookbook! So I'm going to start experiementing with sauce recipes soon!
BECCA - How nice that Denise and Mark are coming for TG! Anyone coming with them? I bet you don't forget how to cook a turkey! I haven't cooked a whole turkey in years either. Since everyone in our family prefers white meat, and Bill hates turkey soup, I only buy a breast and usually cook it in the crockpot, laying on top of some thick onion slices and a few celery ribs. I rub it with garlic and seasonings and walk away for 8 hours. That leaves my oven free for whatever else I'm cooking.
IRISH - what a cooincidence that both Kevin and Kathy are retiring on the exact same day! Did they plan it or did it just happen? Sounds like it's time for a party!
Speaking of parties, we have two couples coming for supper to celebrate two birthdays. Tex & Annette and Gus & Claudia. Annette and Gus's birthdays are Nov 17 & 25. And last night it occurred to me that Bill & Claudia's birthdays are July 20 & 21 and Tex and my birthdays are Mar 16 & 23. Good reason to have 3 well-spaced parties! anyway, tonite's feast will be baked ziti, salad, and garlic bread. I have a tiramisu for dessert courtesy of the good folks at Costco.
