SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Nov 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Nov 19, 2019 5:47 am

Good morning!

I've been doing some counting:
9 days until Thanksgiving,
31 days until Winter Solstice (more daylight!),
35 days until Christmas,
41 days until 2020.
Yikes to it all! Except Winter Solstice. I always look forward to the days starting to get longer. And I always send my Alaskan brother a special note. It's a BIG DEAL where he lives!

Yesterday turned into an errand day. Besides several errands we did a big grocery shopping trip - 6 bags! For us, that's a big trip. Putting it all away seemed to take forever. I did get my new woolie project fused and ready to start stitching down, but that's the only sewing thing I got done. Today we have an appt with our financial guy. I have to say, my eyes glaze over though it's nice to visit with him He is the DSIL of our good, late friends, Warren & Lois, and it's nice to catch up on all the family doings. After that, we're going to come home and clean the garage. I may have to show this post to my sweetie so he sees it in writing, but we ARE going to clean the garage! After that, if there's any time left, I'd like to bring out all my Christmas quilts/linens. It's been a few years since I've seen them since we are gone for Christmas at least every other year. I already have two new ones out - my Vintage Christmas (Lori Holt) and the swap quilt I got together a few weeks ago. It's not enough. I need more Christmas!

IRISH - so you've been off galivanting and having fun with your partner in crime! I wish my sister lived closer to me. Wait - maybe I'm really wishing YOUR sister lived closer. haha! Interesting news about the Eagle Family. Another male in the picture? Do you think he would take the eggs, try to put the moves on Harriet, or is he just looking for a threesome? Sounds like whatever he wanted, he got his answer! Little Lena is already on her toes! Time flies! I'm betting she is a real cutie!! And how did Nick get so grown up?! You mentioned Lebanon bologna and my eyes read Lesbian bologna. for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how that might be different from regular bologna. Then I realized you said LEBANON. and for the life of me I can't figure out how that might be different from regular bologna! lol!

BECCA - such good news about our twinkies (as Cindy likes to call HER twins!). Glad their eyes are good and that they are ready to move to the step-down unit or 'transistion room'. We called it PCU (progressive care unit). Fun to contemplate them coming home. And it's not too soon to start planning for that. I hope Mom and Dad will have a little help the first few days until they get comfortable caring for their babies on their own. It can be overwhelming. I bet there are some grammas who would be happy to step up!

CHICKIE - I know you've been busy with Mom and Home and Hooligans and Christmas sewing. I'm glad to hear your 2-week stint of staying with Mom full time while your sister takes a trip has been cancelled, but saddened by the reason - your mom's decline. I hope you're eating well and find time to stop in soon!

TINA - I would gladly share some of our rain! Though I think we are short this year overall, so on second thought, I better keep it. However, it's really coming down again this morning. I may cancel my walk. Scottie and I will walk in light rain, but not this! He's so hairy it takes him all day to dry! I'm interested in what the neurologist will have to say. That's the problem with appointments with specialists - sometimes it takes so long to get in that your symptoms disappear! But go anyway. Maybe he has some insight into what was going on with you way back when.

JANA - what a special performance Dec 8 will be for you! Both of your girls!

CAROLE with an e - or "e-more" - lol! Yes, we both remember Darlene and Joe. They were the kind of folks that you meet and immediately like and want for your own stable of friends. If they decide to move, I know you will miss them dearly. What a coincidence, though, that you both have family in SC! Would they be close to your Kelly and fam? Sewing with friends can be sew much fun! Cindy and I had a great time in our trailer last winter making bow-tie bloocks together. And when Mary Q visited here a few years ago, Sue came down from Bellingham. My sewing room was crowded but we had a lot of laughs and got a lot of sewing done together.

Supper last night morphed into a scramble. So tonite might be the chili relleno torte I had been considering for last night. I believe I have all the fixin's for that plus a salad on the side.

what's going on your plate tonite?

Good morning!
Mary, I say decorate with as much as you can! You should give Chevy Chase a run for his money! Frankie is taking Thursday off to take me to the Dr.
Becca, I just love hearing the great news about our babies! Brightens my day!
Our DD and DS have been sending me pics of the inside decorating progress at their houses, I'm glad they have my Christmas gene!
I sat yesterday and went through my Christmas tote and said to myself, self why do you only sew Christmas starting October instead of all year long?! Christmas is my favorite and I've decided to concentrate on my Christmas tote that is overflowing with projects to give as gifts!
Dad is coming for supper tonight. He says he's feeling so much better and quit hallucinating! He was seeing huge rats and big snakes slithering up his walls! He's also getting about 6-7 hours of sleep each night! Not sure what the dr's next step will be.
Oh Chickie, you're right, my chickens are molting! I guess they just did a light molt for spring.
Hmmmm not sure what I'm fixing for supper, maybe orange chicken and rice with veggies.

Good afternoon!

I called in reinforcements in the great dust bunny war. Michael! He cleaned the refrigerator, counters, swept and organized my butler's pantry and the big cabinet in my kitchen. I am loading the dishwashers, then back to my recliner to watch. Still getting over what attacked me.

Diner - unknown as Michael doesn't cook. He may see where the Highlander goes. Me, I will settle for jello and 7up.

Storm is rolling in with rain and or snow tomorrow.

Matt was nominated for a District Award for all the work he does with BSA. He received it last week. Total surprise to him. Crenda and I were very sneaky in gathering information from his scouting time.

Time to rest up, again, frankly tired of this!

Enjoy,
Jana
