SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 18, 2019 5:13 am

Good morning,

We fed and walked Duchess across the road Fri, Sat, and yesterday. Just as we hit the road yesterday morning with the two dogs, the heavens opened up and POURED on us. Even the dogs didn't like it! We walked about a mile and as soon as we put Duch back in her house and started home, it all cleared up! Gotta love Mother Nature! But not always! lol! I looked like I'd just taken a shower with all my clothes on! We had to wash and dry everything we were wearing.

Yesterday I did get those drawers in my sewing room cleaned out. They were full of odds and ends, mostly non-sewing stuff that I either ditched, consolidated, or moved to the other room. I finally had room for other sewing things that had no home! Then I started a new woolie project - a scene of a Christmas tree lot at night with a snowman. Which meant that I had to finally wash all that wool I bought last week. So I managed to keep busy and suddenly it was supper time! Today is chiropractor, a few uglies, and I hope to work some more on my new woolie project.

BECCA - Is your family starting to make Thanksgiving plans yet? I think you said that they asked you if you'd like to host but you are letting someone else do the honors this year. Will you go there instead? We have no plans. My son and DDIL made other plans and my DGSs are doing their own thing with their friends. Our back-up plan (friends, Gus & Claudia) are going on another cruise. We were thinking of going camping but the weather is looking pretty 'iffy' where we wanted to go so whatever we end up doing will be last minute.

JANA - Tanner is really making progress on his quilt! I love it when kids are given their head to create what they want to create! I take it that the list Denver's sports teams are on isn't your 'nice' list!

I am thinking some split pea soup would go nicely - my all time favorite - but I'm lacking a few ingredients. So I'm either going grocery shopping or I'm making something else. Maybe chicken patties with hashbrowns and green beans? Or a chili relleno torte? I'll have to root around in the kitchen to see what I can come up with.

What will you be having tonite?

Good morning Mary,

This evening we are going Mexican with with two couples who live within two houses from us. We are very close and just love spending time with them. One gal is also named Carol, but she is e-less.. AND that is what I call her. She calls me e-more. Guess they ar lots of other names she could call me. Lol. So there will be no cooking going on today in this house.

We are going out for dinner on Thanksgiving. Mary, remember Darlene and Joe that you met the last time we got together. They will be our dinner companions. I am so grateful for those two. They are thinking of moving to S.C. to be close to their daughter. They both are in their late 80's and starting to feel they are not 21 anymore. If they do move, I will sure miss Darlene. We have spent so many hours with our machine embroidery group. I. Fact she is coming here tomorrow to work on our newest quilt.

Well Ken is up and moving and Luke is sleeping on the couch. My two males!!!! Oh there goes the bell on the dryer. Have a great day.

Carole - don't forget the e

Good morning!

Beautiful day here. I will be seeing it from inside while I battle all the uglies.

All the kids stopped by last night to visit. Kate shared some fun stories in some runs. She was asked to sing in her Ward on December 8th. Aaron has to work on Sundays, so I will go and sit and watch Gracie and Lila while Kate sings. Kate went to Sarah's to see what music Sarah had. There is a beautiful piece, A Bleak Midwinter Night, perfect for Kate's voice range and the arrangement has a flute as well, so Sarah will join her. Two for one performance, win for me!

Today is uglies, then I might get to play, we will see.

Dinner - leftover taco meat, maybe burritos or tacos or nachos, we will see. Still have some leftover rice and beans to go as well.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning!
I had a busy and exhausting weekend so I didn't get to post.
Becca, I was so happy to hear how well the babies are doing and their weight gains! And how great the benefit turned out!
Mary, you're more than welcome to come here for Thanksgiving! Could you send some rain here please?
Jana, I loved it when my kids performed, enjoy! I look forward to the grands doing things now 💖
Carole, I bet you've had great fun sewing with your friend! When MaryRose comes for a visit I really love having someone to sew with. We always have so much fun and the memories we make 🥰
I think our high is 68 today, we were 34 this morning. Yardwork hasn't gotten done or any deep cleaning either so that's on my to do list for this week and Thursday I go to the neurologist, seems pointless now that I have no symptoms but I'll still go.
I didn't sleep too good last night, I think it was because Saturday I was so exhausted and slept 11 hours that night! Last night I went to bed by 10 but woke up and 2 then drifted in and out till 4 and then gave up and just got up, now I'm tired again 🤷‍♀️
I think I'm either making tacos or enchiladas for supper, I'll see what Frankie prefers.... he might not want either.

Good afternoon from a sunny but still chilly, SW. Pa...Of course anything below 75 is chilly to me, lol....
I've been MIA for a couple of days but it was mostly all good stuff....

Mary, Mother Nature seems to get a good laugh out of pulling tricks like that....I'd like her to keep the tricks and give us some treats, like maybe no snow or warmer and more sun....Your Thanksgiving plans sound very much like mine....Last year, being the 1st without Jim, I stayed home and this year, just haven't decided which house or if I'm just staying home again or if anyone just wants to come here....I can whip up a great grilled cheese along with tomato soup at the last minute, oh so good! Any more with all the kids scattered, the holidays don't mean as much....
Oh, you'll love this one...I had a text/picture from Nick the other night...The picture is him getting a tattoo on the inside of his arm...I had no idea what it was, thought maybe something related to the AF but he told me it was a game symbol...I did tell him, if he gets another, it better be a heart with Grammy in the middle....But, he looked so grown up and so handsome...He'll have all those British gals chasing him...

Carole, (with the e) so nice to hear from you...You seem to have such a busy life out there in the sun...Always a sad thing when a good friend moves away but just hang on to all those great memories and they're never far away....

Jana, Love to hear stories about your talented family...I always wanted to be there when the kids did anything, even high school band practice...It's always a proud moment for any parent when their "kids" are doing something like that....Just yesterday, I had a video of little Lena walking and midway across the room, she does a little dance....I asked Cari when she was starting her Irish Step dancing classes, this gal is ready!

Becca, with all you had going on for the weekend, you must be worn out...But, what great news about the babies, getting to be real "butter balls" aren't they...And so happy the benefit was a success, so many good people out there and for good people.....

Tina, hey, if I lived closer, I might be standing at your door on Thanksgiving...I have a feeling, you'll be having a feast....I've found if I get, even an hour more sleep, I have a terrible time getting back in my old pattern...I really, really hate to just lay there while the rest of the world is fast asleep...Baby Girl doesn't like it either, disrupts her beauty sleep.....

Well, my fun filled last few days were just that...Friday, my sister called and said, throw an extra pair of undies and a tooth brush in a bag and come on up....She and I started with lunch, then shopping for a lift/recliner...In between furniture stores we stopped at an Amish store and loaded up on goodies...She then had a call from a nephew from Alaska that was stopping by that evening so we had to get home...This nephew and his wife really had some stories to tell, we had pizza and they stayed until about 11:00...Then a friend of my niece's came over and we sat and played cards until almost 3:00..Needless to say, no one was moving too fast on Sat. But, I did make it back home late Sat. night and then yesterday Terry and his wife were here most of the day, so it was a good, good weekend....

Did get the laundry done and just changed into decent clothes and running to do some errands while it's fairly warm outside....Nothing much planned for this week so maybe I'll work on my cross stitching and also some sewing....

As for dinner, might just be a sandwich...I got some Lebanan boloney and Horseradish cheese at the Amish store and just enough left for a sandwich...I believe Lebanan boloney is probably a Pa. (Amish)thing but I have fond memories of my Dad taking it in his lunch when I was younger...You really do have to acquire a taste and sometimes the stomach doesn't approve, lol......

You all have a great rest of the day.....

Happy eating.........

EAGLE Update!
There are now 2 eggs in the Florida nest...Harriet laid the 2nd on the 16th, so they probably will hatch 4 days apart and that's kind of a big difference, but we'll see what happens....
The other day, while she was sitting on the eggs a huge adult eagle landed in the tree and then kind of swooped down close to then nest...Harriet really let out the noise and defended her eggs fiercely...It left but returned a short time later and then both parents escorted it away....Scary times on the nest.....
