SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Nov 16th

Good morming! 49* this morning and dry but wet, windy weather is on its way by tonite. I love a good storm, but they do make me nervous given the neighbor's big rotten maple tree still leaning over our house. I stay out of the living/dining room during risky weather. That end of the house would take the worst of it. Glad my sewing room is at the other end!
We never went out with our friends last night after all. They called in sick. Not sure if they were really sick or if they just didn't want to miss the Jeopardy show last night. But we'd forgotten that we needed to feed and walk Scottie's friend, Duchess, who's family is in Portland for 3 days. So it worked out well for us. And I finally did get to finish that troublesome tablerunner! I decided to back it with poinsettia fabric and call it good. I like the pattern, a wreath, but I didn't like how the fabrics worked (or didn't work!) together. But I believe my friend will, so it's done! In all my rooting around in my Christmas fabrics, I found a panel of 8 smaller panels to cut apart, do attic window sashing, and put it all back together again. It will look like you are looking out a window at the silent, snowy night with deer, pick-up, trees, dog, water wheel, etc. It's mostly blue. I think I'll work on that next just for fun.
BECCA - today is fundraiser day! Praying it will be a huge success! I LOVE choc chip cookies and coconut cake! And no, I try not to make curtains if I can avoid it. And we got such a deal on those valances it would have cost me MUCH more to buy the fabric.
JANA - it feels good to know you are ready for whatever Mother Nature sends your way. Now that your skinnies are all done, what's happening in your sewing room? How's Tanner's quilt coming along?
I think chicken for supper will work for us. Not sure yet just how I'm going to make it. OR - I want to experiment making homemade pizza sauce. If it turns out, I want to make a big batch, can it, and give several jars to my massage therapist for Christmas. He spent all summer building a huge pizza oven on his deck. He is so excited about it as he and his family LOVE pizza. I also made him a pair of 10" potholders with an outdoor BBQ themed fabric. (closest I could come to pizza oven fabric). Anyway, anyone here make their own pizza sauce? I"m open for tips, hints, recipes . . .
