November is half over - can you believe it? Only 39 days until Christmas. Where has the year gone??
Yesterday we drove to Silverdale to surprise my DGS, Drew, at his office. We were delivering my mother's turkey roasting pan to him as he is planning to cook his own TG dinner this year and invite his friends. As long as we were passing by a Mall there we dropped in to look for new valances for our remodeled family room. We found some on clearance, bought 6, and drove home to iron and hang them, two to a window. ACCHHH!! they are a large (4") plaid homespun fabric - and the plaids didn't match! It was jarring to the eye, so we took them all down and drove back to Silverdale. 30 miles each way. We had to go through all the packages they had to find some that matched (for the most part). Still not purrfect, but should get us through the winter and maybe we'll find better ones next summer or I might make some. So, no sewing yesterday as that took us all day long! I' was glad I'd put the leftover stew back into the crockpot to warm while we were gone. After 120 miles in the car and all the time put in messing with those curtains, I was ready to not cook!
So no sewing yesterday which was probably a good thing. I'm suffering from quilter's block, I think, with this table topper I'm working on for a friend's birthday. I may just end up buying some new Christmas kitchen towels and calling it a gift. It seems everything I do, I'm not happy with. Purrhaps today something will gel. I have chiropractor this morning and we're meeting friends for our early bird Mexican Happy Hour this afternoon at 3:30. So no cooking tonite!
JANA - Love your stories about the little ones. and the big ones! Sounds like the Terrible Twos are alive and well in Gracie! lol! And I predict inquisitive Lila will be an interesting teenager but do well later in life !
BECCA - you had quite an errand list yesterday. What kind of cake (and cookies!) are you baking for the benefit? Will the cake be for sale or are they having a cake walk? Those are fun. I won a cake once, doing that. But was banana.

IRISH - if that owl is supposedly so wise, he would know better than to mess with a pair of eagle parents defending their babies. The owl will probably become lunch! So what's going on at your sister's house?? THREE orthopedic surgeries within weeks of each other?? Four if you count her first knee. You might want to double think who you are hanging out with!
CHICKIE - glad you got to be one with your fabric yesterday. And nice to have some walking weather where you can leave your coat at home! With hard rain we are having this morning, I may not get in my walk unless it lets up. Scottie and I meet Lori & Duchess at 8:05, in between traffic waves to the two schools (high and elem) down the road from us. You found some good deals on your birthday trip to Edna! I still have their license plate holder they gave me on my car. We're starting to talk new car (so far it's just talk. It's only 15 yrs old). If we ever do get a new vehicle, I'll have to remember to move that lic plate holder!
TINA - how's things at your house? You said Dad was coming to supper. How's he feeling now since they stopped some of his meds? About 45 years ago my MIL was seeing several different doctors. She never thought it important to share with one doctor what the other doctors had said - or prescribed. Before long, she was saturated with several different drugs. Finally one doctor figured out what was going on and they had to take her off everything, let it all leave her system, re-evaluate her real needs, and then start over.
No cooking here tonite because of our Happy Hour thing with friends, Gus & Claudia. They always come back here for a glass of wine afterwards but never stay long. So we have an evening out and we're home and in our jammies by 7pm! lol!
Have you got any ideas yet for tonite?
