Good morning,

We've got rain! Lots of it! And it will be here for a solid week. Good sewing weather!

Yesterday I got my quilt quilted! Wish I could figure out pictures on the new forum, but so far, haven't been able to do that. I finished the quilt only minutes before we had to leave for HH with our friends. I had only about 30 minutes of stitching left to do on it when I accidentally threw my machine out of time - I plunged the needle through the platform that has to be used for ruler work. Arghh! Took Bill an hour to fix it but now it sews better than it did before! I told Bill, "I fixed it!" He allowed that maybe it was a 'team effort'.

Today is chiropracotor. I'm thinking I may wimp out on my morning walk because of the rain unless it lets up for a while. I'd have a very wet, long haired dog wanting up on my couch when I got back! I need to go shopping for a birthday gift for my sister and then I want to get the binding on my quilt. Tonite our DGS is coming by to pick up our big cat tree that Foxy really never used much, and he wants to take us out to dinner. So we think we'll go to the Blazin' Onion, a burger emporium.

CHICKIE - I can't believe you have to jump through all those hoops to get your 'real' license! Do you have a passport? That makes everything so much easier. And I'm not as organized as I sound. One look at my living room with all the Christmas stuff all over it and you'd laugh!

BECCA - I don't think distance makes any difference in the cost of postage. It's all about size and weight. Unless you use the Priority boxes. My boxes to my sisters will cost me from $25 to $35 each. My older sister has an RV so sometimes we just load up gifts and celebrate Christmas wherever and whenever we happen to meet up! I hope your CA is feeling a little better today. Diverticulitis can be particularly painful. Did you get the pictures I e-mailed you?

TINA - Your weekend should have earned you double-time and a half!! lol! Oh, I hope Frankie takes the golf course job. Sounds like it might be purrfect! Is he going to start drawing SS in Jan, did you say?

JANA - I bet Ethan is tingling with excitement - or would be if he knew what was happening. I see fires and quakes in old "Jana-land". If you ever had any doubts about moving, I bet they're gone now!

So we're going out again tonite - on our grandson's dime. Seems wrong, but he wants to do this so we're not going to argue. He turned 26 last Sunday, has owned his own home for 3 yrs and has a good job. Now if we can just find him a sweet girl. . . . . He says that's his next life goal. lol!

How are things looking on your plate for tonite?

Good morning! We are clear, and it was chilly last night. We have wood ducks come in each night to use our pond for their roost pond. They leave every morning at dawn and come in at dusk. There are probably 15 pair of the gorgeous creatures… well, the males, anyway. The hens are pretty in all browns and gray. It’s fun to listen to them “talk amongst themselves” while they are on the pond. They swim around at dusk and remind me of synchronized swim teams as they circle in and out and follow each other.

Mary—glad your sewing machine wasn’t terminal or a high dollar fix! Of course, it remains to be seen what Mr. Bill’s hourly rate costs! Dinner sounds wonderful! Of course, any dinner out is a treat!
I don’t have a passport, since I’ve never been out of the country. Apparently Kansas has lots of hoops to jump through and has had them for years. My sister returning from Germany with Military ID and Passport could not get a Kansas DL, so she just waited until they were stationed in California. This was 30 years ago! I noticed there were more hoops when I changed from Missouri to Kansas. I’m still trying to obtain a certified copy of our marriage license. Called several places yesterday and went by DMV when I was in town. They will not use what I have which is a non-certified copy. Aaarugh!!! I may never fly in a plane again!!!

Oh, the postage has gotten out of sight and slower than molasses. Even the priority has slowed in speed. I remember when it was $2 for 2 day delivery. Then it went to $3 for 3 day delivery. Now… sigh!
I have one unattached beautiful granddaughter! LOL! She just turned 21 and is going to cosmetology school.

Jana—Ethan will be so surprised! Do they have your QIAD shopping list?

Tina—sounds like Frankie has his choice of jobs! Our son is an asset to the big farmer he works for as he can fix equipment on the spot. He can start analyzing and working while someone heads for town. He will call in parts for them to pick up when they arrive and head back. A few hours down time compared with days down if a tow or garage is called is invaluable. His employer says he is worth is weight in gold, and they treat him super well. You are working way too hard, and that lifting… shame on you for not calling someone! Do be careful!!!

Becca—hope CA feels better soon! I know that’s a painful condition!

Dinner here—we have some leftovers… unmentionable delight for me, turf for DH. I’ll fix some rice and broccoli or something to go with. The cookie jar is empty, so I may have to do some baking. I really want to find my sewing room, as I haven’t been there in several days.

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Oh the fun here - Aaron just called with one of his escapades, dealing with stupidity and then had to cut the call with me to deal with a drunk/impaired driver - it is only 9 am! Aaron is fine.

Not much going on here. I did finish both penquin skinnies yesterday and now need to clean up their mess. Then find another something to get in trouble with. I am good with putting off uglies!

Dinner - I have leftover taco meat, will do tacos or burritos.

Mary - what fun to be out with the younger generation! Glad you didn't do much damage to your LA. My ruler table snaps on the the throat, to make it out of the way of my needle.

Chickie - oh the hoops we jump through! I took a whole file of vital records when we moved here to get our driver's licenses. Before we even tried, I sent off for our birth certificates and marriage license. I have two birth certificates, one with my middle name and the first one without my middle name. My dad thought that my first name was enough, but my mom changed that within days of me being born. I even have originals of all my kids, just in case, they lose their copy.

Well, time to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Chickie, how was your cat food last night. hehehe I didn't have a guild meeting, just a committee meeting. Silly me seems to always raise my hand when they are looking for volunteers.
Our guild is about 135 members and about 65-75 show up for the meeting. It's not too big. Used to be bigger, but some of the members are older now and don't always come out to guild.

Becca, I think you asked what we do at guild. We have speakers, quilt teachers, designers. They usually do a trunk show at guild, and then teach a class the next day. I like hearing different ideas and ways people do things. Sometimes it's about the history of quilts. It gets me out of the house.

Jana, drunks are not fun to deal with on the fwy. I was explaining to a friend the other day how you can tell if the person is drunk, or on their cell phone. Drunks are all over the road, weaving left and right. Person on their cell phone will veer to one side in the same motion over and over. Both are annoying.

Maryz, so glad you aren't eating spaghetti every night.

Well last night was baked potatoes with leftover chili on them. I think I have chicken breasts in the fridge I should cook up tonight. Maybe teriyaki chicken and rice. That sounds good. I need to run to the store to pick up a few things as well.

Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone!
I'm late, I think that's becoming my normal 😂
Mary, Frankie can start getting SS in January. We have 10-12 months before we have everything, including our house paid off 🥳
I don't know how well I'll be doing with posting pics, I just got a new phone today so I have to learn it now.
Kevin and Maria were considering getting a Border Collie/Husky puppy yesterday but they decided they're going to get a doberman, they want a good protector for when Kevin is away for work.
Chickie, I know but they're good now till April 😉 Getting drivers licenses these days can be crazy. Your ducks sound cool!
Jana, wow that's early for a DUI! Are you going to post pics of these new skinnies? We want to see ya know 😉
Lori, wow your guild is huge to me! I don't do very well with more than about 20 people, I think because I'm not around very many people these days..... well last 11 years for sure.....I think I'm a hermit.
Becca, talk about overdoing it there young lady 😍 you need to pace yourself. I think our colors are late this year too.
I'm going to make Frito pie in individual bowls tonight so the Fritos don't get soggy and we can eat leftovers as chili too.
Dad went to his dermatologist today, he should be getting back by supper tonight 😊
Tina
