Good morning!

This will be our last dry day before the rains come later this evening. We have a series of 'systems' moving in off the Pacific. And heads up! They will be moving east after they are done with us. I think Across The Road Lori and I will do a long walk this morning to make sure we get in all the exercise we can before the rain! Yesterday I worked mostly on my quilt - got it almost half quilted. Not thrilled with the result, but it is what it is. Today will be more of that, hoping to finish it either today or tomorrow so Bill can get my SIL's quilt on the frame. She should be here in probably less than a week. We want to have it done for her to pick up and take back to Las Vegas with her. I'm meeting a friend for coffee at 10am and then our happy hour friends at 4pm for HH and early light supper at Mexican restaurant.

Yesterday we went to our local city hall to file for civil restraining order against Vicki just as the deputies advised us. But there we were told we had to go to the County City building in downtown Tacoma. Sigh. Nothing is ever easy. The hardest part will be finding a place to park! So we're doing that on Thursday when we have to go to Tacoma anyway to have the truck serviced. Not looking forward to this. Making me a little sick to my stomach, actually.

JANA - we love homemade pizza here! That will be on our menu again soon. What kind did you make?

BECCA - I cringe at the cost of postage, too, but when it comes to Christmas I still mail packages. That's really too bad about your dentist closing up shop for the day and not calling you. And for that to happen twice to you and CA really isn't acceptable! I wonder what the deal was! He deserves a bad Yelp rating!

IRISH - you really had an adventure with your bread machine yesterday! But I'm sure the results smelled heavenly and the birds were disappointed. That's how things happen around here - I go into a room for something (which I always forget what is!) and come out a few hours later having done something completely off the wall! Two days ago I went to get out my fall quilts and ended up cleaning that big closet! And then had to go back in to get those quilts! lol! Got to keep the cats alert! Judi and her hubby are talking about going to FL in Feb, too. Wouldn't it be fun if you were going to the same place?!

LORI - well, we did change the wine and we changed the spaghetti, too. I made baked spaghetti. The problem is, now I have leftovers of THAT! Argh!

TINA - you've really had a busy, busy few days!! Hope you are feeling better today.

Since we're meeting our friends, Gus & Claudia, for happy hour at the Mexican restaurant, there will be no cooking here. I can live with that! Actually, we were supposed to go last night (I forgot when I told y'all we were having spaghetti) but Gus has been sick with salmonella for more than two months, thought he was feeling better, and then they called to say he had a 'minor setback' and asked for raincheck. We'll see how it goes tonite. . . . Our oldest grandson is coming over tomorrow night and wants to take us out so no cooking or leftovers then either!

Good morning!

Just got off the phone with Sarah. They found the fireplace/stove to heat their basement. She is on her way to pick out the finishes and set the date for installation. They are finishing their basement with living space, bathroom, bedrooms, family room and sewing room.

Not much here - working on a new skinnie - a penquin. These are addictive! It is nice to have stash! Of course, there will be two made - Sarah found pieces for hers.

Ethan's quilt is loaded, so he can start quilting it.

They leave Saturday for Disneyland. Ethan still knows nothing. Sarah has set him up with a adventure with mom. Current thinking by Ethan is he gets to go to McDonalds for a ham-a-burger. Sandee and Sarah are driving, staying in Vegas the first night, then on to Disneyland. It is about a 11 hour drive from here to Disneyland, if you did it in one day. There is a gluten free resturant in Vegas that has great reviews that Sandee wants to try. At the end of the week, they are going to QIAD. Sarah has already got Ethan a pack that holds a water bottle, snacks and autograph book, that is Disneyland approved.

Dinner - I have some turkey burger thawed, so nachos may appear tonight.

Mary - bummer you couldn't get the restraining order and need to go again.

My assistance is needed outside,

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning!
I have a free few minutes right now so thought I'd take the opportunity to come and visit 💗
Mary, yes I have had some busy days, I'm feeling way better, still get tired and shake when I overdo it but I try not to go that far. Yesterday was one of those days that I overdid but I had to vacuum my furniture and windows really good. I moved some really big plants too but shouldn't have to move them again till April when they go back outside. I've been doing my bills and my check book this morning, trying to get things figured out for when Frankie retires again at the end of the year. He has been offered another part time job at the golf course if he wants it, he's thinking about it, it'll be less hours than he does now and in a nice shop, they need a mechanic for the lawn mowers and things they use on the golf course....he used to do it all when he worked at the City but now they try to fix things themselves. The one that's fixing them now used to work at the City with Frankie and when he retired he went to the golf course LOL anyway he prefers to just mow (he was the City's welder not a mechanic) so he wants to mow and have Frankie fix things â˜ș
Mary, oh I'd love to go to Mexican happy hour with you! I'm sorry that all the things with Vicki have lead to getting a restraining order, I know it's a step in the right direction to getting her help. I'm sorry the stress is making you sick to your stomach. (((((Hugs)))))
My house is clean! Gotta take care of chickens in a little bit with Preston, He's a great chicken feeder helper.
Jana, Sarah's basement sounds perfect! My grandma had a basement that was kinda like that, I loved it! I hope they video Ethan when he realizes he's at Disneyland, priceless!!
I'm not sure about supper yet.
Tina

Good afternoon! It’s a beautiful fall day! We are 74 degrees, which I consider perfect! Not a cloud in the sapphire sky with a nice breeze. The hooligans and I walked Choc and Ava. Ava went with us on her leash to visit Choc. The rain and cold I thought were over, but looks like 40% rain tomorrow when I have an eye exam appointment.

Mary—you are always so organized! I really have no idea what I’m doing for Christmas this year other than our usual “Dead Presidents”. The color is right, and they always fit!

While everyone is telling parent’s ages, my dad would have been 109 this month if he hadn’t died at age 60.

Jana—it’s hard to watch Pioneer Woman and not want to get out your cast iron skillets or copy whatever she is making. I like the pizza idea, but I also like soup!

Becca—I can’t imagine knitting an afghan in that pattern! Actually, I knit like I crochet. I know only a few basic stitches and the instructions are like reading Greek or Russian. I can knit and purl, and that’s it. Hope you find a new dentist!

Irish—I used to have a bread machine
LOL! Glad your rolls came out!!! I never used mine for anything but a full cycle of bread. I have a dough hook for my mixer that I use frequently after mixing by hand for years. I used to make bread to take out my aggressions. Ha!!!

Lori—how was guild? Do you have a big one?

Tina—You seem to be pulling double and triple duty with the GKs!

Most of the above was written yesterday before I got interrupted. Somehow with the perfect day, I ended up helping to load, split, load and stack several ricks of wood with DH.

Oh, Mary—I hear you with nothing is ever easy!!! I’m trying to get a “real” driver’s license, and the DMV is open intermittently. But I need numerous forms of ID—none of which are easy since the fire. I can’t find a CERTIFIED copy of our marriage certificate since my name is not the same as on my birth certificate. The state has privatized their system, and because I have a PO Box and not a physical address, they won’t ship there. It’s crazy! Plus, I have to have proof of physical address in MY name! All bills come to our PO Box. And, most things are in DH’s name. Finally, I found my truck registration which has my name on it and both addresses. Why is it so hard when I have had a DL since I was 14 and had a learner’s permit!!! I’m still who I said I was then!!!

I have an eye exam in a few and need to walk Choc and Ava first, so need to head out.

I’m having cat food. DH is having steak.

Bon appétit!
P.S. Irish--thank you so much!!! Means loads, as you know!
