Good morning,

Well, no matter what your thermometer is saying, your calendar is shouting fall! We are 40* this morning. That's only 1* from the 30's, which is only 8* from freezing. If I wait much longer I won't need to do my fall yard clean-up!

Yesterday was mostly cooking and cleaning the kitchen. I baked 4 dozen cookies and cut them out in the shapes of wine bottles and glasses. Then at the store I found purple frosting! So I frosted bottles with "labels" and foil caps. Glasses were 'filled with wine". Then I made my pumpkin pie. We got the grocery shopping done and got our flu shots. I swear, those needles are so tiny, I never even feel them go in. When we got home, I had a little time to play in my sewing room, mostly cleaning. Bob & Betsy showed up at 4pm and it was all about good friends after that. Today is finishing packing the fridge and buttoning up the trailer before we hit the road. It's only 57 miles to our campground and a very pretty drive.

TINA - sounds like you really needed that outing in nature, the relaxation, and the music, not to mention the sleep. Hope your day yesterday was peaceful, too, and it continues all week long! We don't have wild turkeys in Western WA but I've seen them when traveling. In fact, where we've seen the most of them was when camped in a county park in Julian, CA not far from Eleanor's log home. Turkeys were all over the campground, all day long. That was MY first time seeing them!

BECCA - I'm leaving the under sink cabinet un-clean, just for you! lol! And if it helps any, I've done hardly any yard work. Those guilt feelings work both ways, you know! My sister in law, who spends 10 months of the year in Vegas living with her dd since my brother's passing, told us that she was told by neighbors that a bear with triplet cubs has been seen on their property. Since so much clearning has been done around us, we're only seeing bunnies, squirrels, and raccoons these days near our house. And yes, the holidays are coming! We even saw a holiday commercial on TV last night during DWTS. I had to admit, though, I'm already pumped about Christmas. I have always LOVED Christmas, but it's pretty We are also almost done with our Christmas shopping. :D

JANA - Milk is always the determining factor of when we go shopping. We buy it at Costco. Everything else we can live without for a few days, but we need milk for the Cheerios. Did you get any snow over the weekend?

I'm not in charge of supper tonite but I think Betsy has a pan of chicken enchiladas in her trailer fridge for tonight. We've had her enchiladas before and they are MMMmmmm good! Turkey last night was good, too, so we have sandwich makings for the trip.

Not sure if I'll have internet and even if I do, I don't know if Bill is taking the computers. So it might be just my phone. I'll stop in when I can, but please, go ahead without me! THE BAN IS LIFTED! Someone let poor Chickie know!

Good morning!

We are burrrrr cold - 33! The sun is now up and over the mountains, which should warm us up.

Mary - enjoy the beautiful scenery on your trip. No computers might be a good thing! And Scottie can run and jump and play safely!

Today, Aaron is patrolling I 80 up to the Wyoming border and the big UP steam train is heading here, then to southern California. Aaron will volunteer to pace the train, to keep all the daisy pickers, railfans, from trying to be the lead dog, causing problems and accidents. His truck has a dashcam that he can turn and take pictures. Matt had hoped Aaron was off, so they could use the drone to take video of the train, but Aaron isn't. My boys and trains! Oh, daisy pickers are people that get in the way of you taking a picture, not paying attention and standing there. When the big steam trains come through, railfans will make a photo line and it is a unwritten rule, that the next one in the line, stays out of the line of sight of the camera, and so forth.

Dinner - yummy banned - I can name it - New England Clam Chowder and cheddar bay biscuits.

Traced out the appliques for December and January's wall hangings and finishing up the quilting on November's. I should have all three done this weekend.

Becca - such wonderful news on the twins.

Chickie - so sad at yours and Doyal's loss. Losing a sweet puppy is alwsys hard.

Tina - hope Dad is doing better since his treatment.

Time to get some uglies done,

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from summery, partly sunny, SW. Pa....No Autumn weather here, we're now 91....I do think come this weekend, the temps are to drop, but we'll see.....

I'm back, I think...My body really isn't sure where it is...We left Reno Sat. morning at 5:30 and got into Pgh. a little after 4:00, stopped and met up with Dan and Casey for dinner and then finally got home about 9:00...Friday in Reno, it was 90 and sunny, Sat. was to be a high in the 60s with frost Sat. night and not too warm all week...Here it's very warm...But, thinking I'd sleep, I woke up Sunday morning and by 6:00 was getting peaches ready for a cobbler...(we came back with 1 suitcase full of peaches and tomatoes)...Cobbler is so good! Sunday, we went to Kevin's and we both got our baby fix, yesterday, we went to Home Depot and I got a small stand up shed for the back porch and Kathy put it together...We really should have taped us trying to fit it in the car, could have made money on that TV show...We ended up pushing the seats up and riding home with our knees up against the dash board...Thank goodness we didn't live too far....Last night Kathy met a friend for dinner and this morning we met with a niece for breakfast, then Kathy had an eye exam and tonight we're meeting my sister and some of her family for Chinese......Tomorrow, Kathy is going to Cari's and then I'm going this weekend, (Lena's birthday party) and Sunday, coming back and Kathy will be catching a flight home that evening.....really gonna hate to see her go but I think I'll need a quiet week to recover......

Mary, I have an idea you are going to have a special time on this camping trip...Just being with your friends will be great....And as far as seeing bears, I've seen my limit! Having that one visit us at the camp was enough...He was gorgeous to see but let's keep our distance...Just Monday morning, I opened my back door to feed the birds and there were 2 very small deer right by the patio, looking like they wanted to come in for breakfast...And of course the family of ground hogs that live under the big shed along with the turkeys that walk through the yard, often....I guess I don't have to go to the woods to see the wild life, And that's not counting the neighbors next door, lol...

Becca, I've missed seeing the updates on the babies but so happy to see they are doing well..They are indeed little miracles.....I just checked under my sink and boy does it need a good cleaning, if anyone is interested, lol.....But, then, I think the whole kitchen could use a good cleaning...It will soon be time to put up my winter curtains so that's when it will be done.....

Just got a "signal" from Kathy, she now wants to clean off the back porch and fill up my new "she shed"...So, guess my gabbing is done.....

We have eaten out so much and why change now....Chinese and no cooking for tonight......

You all have a great rest of the day.........

Happy eating...............

Welcome home Irish! Lena is a year already? No Way! Happy Birthday to our little one!

Well, yes, Aaron did get to escort the big steam engine from the Wyoming border to Henefer. He was on the point with the troopers following behind keeping all the railfans behaving. Only a couple gave them problems. Right now, Sarah, Matt and Aaron are at a spot not far from our house and will put up the drone to video the train from the air. As well as pictures as it drives past. Sarah is our closet railfan, as we tease her. She is as bad as her brothers!
