Good morning!

We have a touch of fall in the air this morning - first morning. I'm not ready yet!!

Yesterday, I got another quilt almost finished on the quilting frame but our friends arrived so another 10 minutes this morning and it will be done. I got another one bound and started putting binding on a third but ran out of thread. I hope to get that done this morning, too. Then I have a niece from CO visiting her brother who lives near Seattle. They are all coming around 11am for thrift shopping and lunch. I don't think Bill or my nephew are invited. They are anchors on an outing like this! So it will be me, my niece, Marcie, and my nephew's wife, Ann. My DDIL, Emily, has to work.

BECCA - out of curiosity, I asked our friends about their lift - it's a seat that glides on a runner up and down the stairs. Insurance did NOT pay for it, but if you have a 'script from the doctor you can deduct it on your taxes - if you itemize. They had to have safety inspections before it could be used. It cost in the neighborhood of $5,000 and he said if you had to turn a corner (they didn't) it would be triple that. If you check e-Bay and Craig's list you could probably find one a used one a whole lot cheaper.

JANA - I bet the little girls LOVED sleeping in a tent! I always did when I was little (and big! :D ), and so did my kids. I did use the fresh puff pastry yesterday and it turned out pretty good, but I prefer the Pepperidge Farm frozen. It's much thinner and there are two sheets in the package. This new stuff is one thick sheet and had to be rolled. But it's really hard to roll thin enough and still pick it up intact. Consequently, it didn't puff well and was underdone - though still tasty! At least there was none left!

TINA - wasn't that a party!! Looked like everyone had a great time! Tell Frankie next time we go through Deming to save me a dance!!

Not sure about supper tonite. I was planning on making chicken alfredo for us. But I forgot about visitors stopping by so we might go out, we might order pizza, I might make another chix BBQ pizza, or we might skip supper if we go out for lunch. We'll see what happens.

:D Good early afternoon from warm, sunny, perfect, SW. Pa...I feel another very lazy day, coming on, lol....
Mary, you're making me tired just thinking about all that work you're doing and what you still have to do....I know how hard it was just doing my small bedroom...Which reminds me, I need to make a new quilt and curtains for that room, nothing matches now, gosh darn!
I have been trying to stay away from the thrift shops unless I'm dropping off my stuff...But, it sure is hard, they're every where I go, lol....
I was just thinking, I can honestly say, I've never slept in a tent, not even when I went camping with the church group, many, many years ago...Kathy is still our camper, she and Tim take his grand sons often and they use a tent...Maybe I could get her to take me the next time I visit.....

Becca, those stair lifts can be quite expensive but every once in awhile, you might see one in the paper...Before Jim had to go into the home, the VETS asked about helping with different things for the house and that was one of them...They had done so much for us, I couldn't see taking more, so I said no...
Hope your day is good, not too warm, just right.....

Today is my baby's birthday...Terry, our youngest, is 54 but still the baby...And of course the rest of the kids keep reminding him of it and how he always got away with "everything" and how he was always the "favorite", lol.....KIds.....Not sure what they have planned but if there's cake, I'd better get some.....

I'm really not sure what I'm going to do except work on the baby sampler, Cindy had started...The new baby is due in 2 weeks so I need to do some fast stitching...

And as far as dinner, hoping I get an offer but if not, I have salad and sandwich fixens'.....

It is going to be a good day for sitting on the porch with my cross stitching and listening to the birds....

You all have a great day....

Happy eating..................

Good morning!

Just closed up the house for the day. We will get up or over 100 today. Shortly we will be in the monsoon season and our temps will be on the downward trend toward fall and winter. These are the last days of the high temps. Church is in a little bit.

The kids are home from camping and on duty this morning. Sarah has the little girls. Lila has added a new word - bumpa, for Grandpa. She sees his picture on the wall and says it when you ask her who that is. Lila still won't say mama, but we are working on that.

Ethan has all the squares sewn from the first charm pack and we will start adding the second pack. He has already picked out the fabric for the back and borders. He is getting good at controlling the speed of the machine and going quicker. I may let him quilt it on my LA, under a watchful eye.

Mary - you are going quick and will be ready for all the new flooring. Your adventure today will be fun! We love pineapple on pizza, especially with a white sauce instead of tomato based sauce. Pizza is a blank palette to play with!

No idea on dinner here. Maybe hashbrowns and eggs after we get home from church and snack on what is in the refrig tonight. We will probably be invaded from some part of the family tonight. Crenda's oven is broken, so I may have ready, ingredients to stir together a batch of cookies if those gremlins show up.

Time to find a face and be ready for church.

Enjoy!
Jana

Hello everyone,nice day today.
Maryz We would have to get someone to install it so it’s just out for now.Unless the kids get behind it.Its only straight down no curves.Just hard on him to do stairs at all.
My you are busy busy with your quilts.Sure they will beloved & bring comfort.

Irish There you are stitching away on your porch.Sounds Nice.Mine has been getting neglected.Too much work & now I’m on the baby quilt. My fingers are sore today from needle pricks.Know that sampler will be sweet & special.

Tina I saw all your pictures.Looks like they all had fun dancing.Did your leg treatment & massage help you? Hope so.

It’s taco day here.Easy Peasy .Have a wonderful day. Becca

My leg treatments help me but it's kinda short lived because I push myself to do things. I'm very overweight and I keep pushing myself to keep doing things. I'm in a losing battle I'm afraid but I keep trying. Most days I eat between 1000 to 1300 calories a day with trying to stay away from carbs, sugar and fat....nothing helps.

Cake and Jazmyne are adorable!! Love the cake. It shows lots of creativity.

Tonight's dinner was hash brown potatoes with bell pepper, onions, and ground turkey.

We have been resting since our late night at the Angel (vs. Orioles) baseball game Thursday. We stayed for all 16 innings. The final score 8-10, with the win for the Orioles!! The game ended after 1:00 A.M. We didn't get to bed until 3:00 A.M. It was an historical game, for the first time in major league play a centerfielder took the save as pitcher. Between the two teams they used 20 pitchers. The 15th inning was actually very exciting, just exhausting.
