SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, July 25

Good morning!
sorry I'm late. I had a very early massage appt. I left the house at 0615. He should have served coffee, but all I got was water. lol! I know this will change as the day goes on, but at this moment, for the first time in over a year, nothing on my body hurts!!
Yesterday I got one quilt quilted and the binding on. It was all scrappy, so I used binding scraps, too. Turned out all those bindings were only 2-1/4" and it was just too tight to sew down by machine, which is what I usually do, so I had to hand sew it through the evening. Gads! I'd forgotten how long that takes! 6 hours instead of 1. Though I did get to watch TV while doing it. Going to do a second, ans maybe a third quilt today.
We had our tree guy here yesterday, evaluating the job - taking down 4 trees. 3 are simple - just drop them in the woods and drag them out. The fourth will need lines put on it because it's leaning the wrong way. That will necessitate him bringing his bigger equipment in. Oh well. It's only money. Sigh.
IRISH, sorry about your post. I do notice that if you hit "submit" and if someone has posted while you were typing your post, it will hold your post and ask if you wish to amend it after reading the new message. So you can add remarks if you wish or hit 'submit' a second time. Could that have been the problem?
CAROL - nice to have a face to put the name! Do you park on the street and that's why your car is a block away or is it because of the slurry? The meetings about your guild by-laws sound a bit too intense for me! Our dance club finally disbanded because focus on dancing for fun was being lost in all the by-laws, amendments, Roberts Rules of Order, elections, etc.
JANA - we have been collecting boxes for months every time we go to Costco. Small boxes. and I won't be lifting those. Just filling them - and eventually un-filling them after all the new floors are in. Those splash parks sound ideal! If Gig Harbor has anything like that, I don't know about it. We have a few salt waterfront parks but the beaches are inaccessable and muddy/rocky/oystery anyway. No one wants to play there! That drone sounds like fun for Aaron and useful for the USP.
BECCA - It will be fun, I think, to sit and hand quilt that little quilt, thinking of the baby it will warm! How long will it take you to do one baby quilt by hand? As for the heavy furniture we need to move, we are paying our friend's son (a fitness trainer) to move a few things for us like couch and clawfoot tub. Hopefully, he has a skookum friend! Most everything else is lightweight enough we can handtruck it. Besides, we are removing the old carpets and tile ourselves so we have to do the moving of stuff long before the carpet folks come in. $$ is an issue.
LORI - we have friends who always eat their main meal at noon and just a sandwich or bowl of soup for supper. Have to say, neither of them have ever had a spare ounce on their frames! Much healthier way to eat.
And now on to supper - which is why we're all gathered around the table! I think a homemade pizza. Probably using BBQ sauce with cooked chicken bits. Just to be different. I wonder if pineapple would be good on that. To me, pineapple seems like a pizza aberration but Bill likes it. I love pineapple itself - just doesn't seem like it belongs on pizza. What do you all think?
