SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 21
Posted: Sun Jul 21, 2019 7:01 am
Good morning!
We had a very nice evening yesterday. Gus and Claudia came for supper and then my son and DDIL (Mike & Emily) stopped by on their way home from the lavender festival in Sequim. So good to see them! And we simply added two more plates to the table! Mike said he has a publish date for his book of Oct 23rd and that he is finished with his second book and is editing it now. Please beware I don't put your eye out with any of the buttons popping off my mom-chest! I'm so proud of him!
I'll be getting cozy with Mr & Mrs Maytag today as well as going through the pile of quilt tops I have ready for the frame. Making sure they all have backings, are prepped properly, and bindings ready to go. Then I'll prioritize them. I'm finally back down to just one UFO - Farm Girl Vintage. I have about 6 blocks finished but all the others are cut out and bagged. But the Christmas swap will be ending in a week so my UFO count will go up again.
JANA - I was 18 and newly graduated back in 1969. (in fact, my 50th class reunion was last night but I didn't go). I think I was on the couch at home with my parents and boyfriend (known later as DH#1) watching the moon landing on TV. It was Bill's 21st birthday and he says he doesn't remember what he was doing! lol! I've made calzones using Rhode's dough. Didn't know it was a Pioneer Woman recipe. I thought it was a Purrfect Lady recipe!
VELDA - When you lose a post, first try hitting ctrl z. That restores my lost posts about 75% of the time. But just keep typing away and exploring the new forum. We're all in the same boat, learning something new. Every day I learn something new!
IRISH - I LOVED Snowballs when I was a kid. Even though I'm not much of a chocolate cake fan. Or a marshmellow fan. But somehow, they worked for me! and you're right - it's become almost a quest to find them! I know now I'll be looking for them!
BECCA - is it going to be cooler for you today? Will be nice to visit with Levi and Taylor. The twins are getting closer! I think we'll ALL be on the lookout for snowballs now!
LORI - teriyaki chicken over rice sounds tasty! My MIL had a special teriyaki recipe she made up and it was so good! But she never wrote it down.
Maybe I'll hunt up a recipe and give it a try next time I'm thinking - 'what's for supper'.
Bill says thanks for all the birthday greetings! I think he had a good day - he washed the RV and did some mowing in the woods, blazing a trail to the trees we want taken down. He was covered head to toe, gloves, hat, coat, and draped in bandanas, as defense against bees, but steered as clear of them as possible. No new stings! and the old stings are slowly fading.
We have one steak and one baked potato left over from last night so I'm going to chop it all together with lots of onion and make hash - and a salad. and we still have apple pie left.
