Good morning! Last night I had the best night's sleep I've had in almost a week--at home in my own bed!!! My sister came yesterday and took over for the afternoon through this afternoon. Odie and I will return to our duties later today.
I honestly don't see how my other sister does this every night! I only got to "dream" sleep twice in that time. I felt like a zombie. I have less than two weeks to go, plus 3 more nights that my other sister will be here, so it's manageable.
Mom was counting the minutes till my other sister arrived yesterday. She can calculate almost to the minute how long it will take someone to drive anywhere. She's more accurate than Google maps! It's really pretty astounding, and if you don't check in when she thinks you should--oh, woe!!!
Yesterday when I came home, I did laundry, had lunch with DH, picked a gallon and a half of blackberries, took a shower to scrub off the chiggers (totally unsuccessful--I got more of those itchy little buggers than I got berries!) cleaned floors, fixed supper, went to grocery store for fresh produce, and collapsed for a great night's rest. This morning I've done my yoga and will pay some bills, then fix brunch. I'll be walking Ava and Choc before I get a shower and head back to town.
I hope everyone is doing well. If you are in the South, Becca, stay cool! Are you getting the storms? Irish, storms? Jana--you sounded nice and cool when you posted last that I read. Tina--you may be in the heat wave. We are "feels like" upper 90s in the daytime and cool to upper 70s or so at night. We've also had some "pop up" thundershowers in the afternoon. They cool, then steam as the heat comes back. Hopefully Mary is out of the major heat of Alaska, traveling through Canada and has found cooler air. Lori--my family in SOCAL (south of LA) felt the big quakes. I thought of you!
Dinner tonight--I'll probably have a big salad, and Mom will have quiche or cottage cheese and fruit which is her "go to" evening meal.
Bon appetit!
