Maryz I’m sure your visit is worth more than gold to Your DB.A caregiver gives so much of themselves.Glad you are able to visit them & sure he is appreciative of your efforts.It is sad you can’t be closer but good you can lend a hand.Youre a sweet sister.

CA has had calls,messages from grandkids.And FaceTime will be later.Both of kids have called too.They all love their Dad & Papa.
I sure miss mine & he’s been gone many years.

Good morning!

Another good day here in North Pole! 75’. Then came a late afternoon T-storm! It was great! Moved our chairs into garage so we could watch it pour. Then we grilled ham/cheese sandwiches around. Gene is so grateful for any little thing we do. Bill keeps saying he wishes we could do more - something to REALLY solve some problems for them. I think just us being here takes a bit of stress off him, (especially kitchen-wise!). Plus, having family SEE what he’s up against has to help. They’ve been married 58 yrs and he adores his sweetie but it’s tough on their whole family.

I did get pillowcases made for him yesterday and he was very pleased with them. I also got binding on the throw. He was happy about that, too. This morning is serious housecleaning in the trailer. My sister is coming tomorrow and will stay in trailer with us. Going to be a crowd but there is no room in the house for a guest that won’t upset my sister-in-law‘s world. We brought an airbed, sleeping bag, & pillow for her. I’m sure she won’t mind morning coffee being served at 0300 her time! Lol!

This morning we are going to a big family brunch at my niece’s house and this evening my nephew is having a family barbecue. Tomorrow I am putting a pot roast into the crockpot with potatoes, carrots, onions. Gene seemed happy to hear that we planned to cook again and that beef was on the menu! He’s so easy to please!
