Good morning!

Well, it was "the beginning of morning" when I sat down at the computer but the day is moving on now. No rain predicted until late afternoon so my walk will be MUCH more pleasant today. Though we got shingles vaccines yesterday. I rarely react to shots of any kind, but he warned us we might feel achy and yucky. and he was RIGHT! But better than risking shingles!

We got our fox panel quilt finished yesterday. I only added 3 blocks each to top and bottom of the panel and then 2 borders. Bill quilted it with a fox pattern he already had in his computer. I got the binding on one side yesterday and then hand stitched a label to catch in the binding this morning. Then it's ready to pop into the mail! I will try to remember to take a photo. Sad thing, though. This quilt is for Bob & Betsy and even as we were both working on it yesterday, she texted that they had just lost their beloved goldendoodle, Violet, to cancer in her urinary tract. Violet was her therapy dog as she went through the waiting process of getting her new lungs, plus all that has come after for her. This is the same thing that took our Snickers. They are heartbroken. So this gift will be timely.

Today - cleaning up some messes I've made through the house, sorting out summer clothes, chiropractor, and then some sewing on my Christmas swap blocks. I'm really trying to get them done before we leave for Alaska. I also want to make a few June lotto blocks, but have them on the back burner for now.

JANA - I don't think these scratching noises in our walls are bees. If so, they are BIG bees! Funny thing though, neither Scott nor Fox seem interested in them. But they were there again last night, this time in the wall between our closet and bedroom. Bill is going to set some traps in the ceiling panels and see what happens. And we have reported Vicki and her garbage to the Health Dept. They said they aren't interested unless we see rats. Then they'll do something. Sigh.

LORI - your tablerunner sounds pretty. and special if you dyed the fabric yourself! Good luck on your modern borders! Maybe prairie points in solid bright colors with a black border . . . I'm here to help!

TINA - if ALL your turtle eggs hatch, then what? Can your yard support that many turtles? lol!

Tonight's supper is going to be homemade pepperoni pizza. Yum!

Good morning!

Been busy chasing a few messes this morning. Not much going on here. Hearing lots of booms - the Utah National Guard are practicing firing off their cannons and it echoes off the hills near me.

Found a few new soup recipes on Pinterest, so will try one tonight for dinner. This one is called crack chicken noodle soup. No idea why it is referred to as crack, but we will try it. The picture does look yummy and uses a rotisserie chicken for the meat and as my Ethan would say, it has lots of noodles!

Mary - let's use a bit of deductive reasoning here - if there is trash around, trash draws rats, so since you have the food source, there are rats out there, so the health department has a logical reason to do something! Before, there is a huge problem! That new quilt for Betsy will arrive with perfect timing. You have that gift of knowing what when and how!

Becca - uggh - squirrels! We had them in California and lucky for us, they stayed in the trees.

Yesterday, being bored, I googled my old house in California, just to see if anything on the outside was changed. Well, it is being sold and is under contract for nearly 700,000 dollars - oh my word! Plus the website had pictures of the interior. All of the rooms were shown and most of what I did was still there. The bones of the house. They changed the paint colors and removed a bunch of trees in the backyard. Made me sad, but at the same time, I saw I did some things right. Oh, but the people paying that amount for a home we originally paid 40,000 for, is ridiculous! So happy we are here and my new home is mine, free and clear.

Time to get into trouble, I am very good at that!

Good afternoon.

Mary, thanks for offering to help. I get it in the mail to you today. lol Just kidding. I figure the border thing out. Now to put them one and see how they look. Hope you figure out the noise in the wall. Interesting that Foxy and Scottie are interested. Maybe it's just spirits.

Jana, the price of property in California is ridiculous. Our house is 1288 square ft. We do have a good sized backyard, but they are going for close to $700,000 in our neighborhood. It's crazy.

Becca, she was nice in warm in the dryer vent. Critters do like warm cozy places to have their babies.

It's cloudy and cool today. So I will make soup for dinner. Maybe some corn bread to go with it.

Have a lovely evening. Lori

Hi everyone! My morning was so budbusy I forgot to check in here, even forgot to check in on my Christmas swap! After dropping Easton off at school Preston and I stopped for gas and then had to go to Wal-Mart, that took till 9:45 and by the time I put groceries away, cleaned the kitchen, made Preston a bowl of strawberries, let the dogs out and then took care of the chickens out was 11:10 and time to get Easton again!! I couldn't believe how fast the morning went by! Then had to stop and pay for Easton's last month of preschool for Holly and made lunch, cleaned up and boom it was 1 and naptime for the boys, apparently for me too LOL I fell asleep as soon as I sat down!
We went last night and saw the Avengers Endgame, it was awesome!!!!
Mary, sorry about your friends furrbaby, so sad. Your quilt will be much appreciated. I'm with Jana, common sense says there's rats being called to next door, I hope they haven't set up camp at your house though! If we get baby turtles I'll just probably donate them to Petco and/or Petsmart, we don't need anymore but I couldn't kill them or anything like that.
Lori, when I was at Wal-Mart I picked up frozen loaves of bread, I have 1 rising now to go with supper.
Jana, that's crazy how much properties are going for these days! We had a problem here a few years back, people from California were offering more for houses than what they were listed for and ended up driving prices up to where people living and working here couldn't afford to buy here, it settled back down thankfully, we're the poorest county in NM and NM is the poorest State in the US.
Becca, glad you thought to check your dryer line before getting it replaced. Squirrels can be destructive.
I'm making chicken fried steaks, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and strawberries for afters.
