SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, May 14th

Good morning!
We've cooled down and should get some rain today. We need it! We've had to have sprinklers on this past week. We love our green, here!
Yesterday was mostly about Christmas Swap blocks. I'm making big snowman faces (posted a photo in the swap thread). I got all my parts and pieces fused and cut out, plus my 4-patch backgrounds sewn. Today I'll start stitching things down.
Last night was noisy at our house between the owls yakking at each other and at Scottie who was "yakking" at owls. Then Foxy wasn't in bed, so I went looking for him and couldn't find him. Sat up worrying and reading for an hour until he came in. Whew! the owls didn't get him! Then the scratching inside the walls started. What a night!!! Today, we'll be checking inside those walls. I HATE to think what might be in there. It stops momentarily when we tap on the walls. I checked Vicki's yard yesterday when she was gone for a walk and found a LOT of empty dishes strewn through the long grass, chewed paper plates, fast food containers, used coffee filters, empty pastry envelopes from Starbucks, and food remnants. I think she is bringing in more wildlife than raccoons. Sigh. But if it's rats, we can call the health department and turn her in. They aren't interested in anything but rats. Not that that will change her behavior, but it's one more thing to document (and I document it all!) Shudder!
JANA - I'm excited about your Batt Bath being almost done! Is it - umm - functional yet? A real bummer about your washer, though! I've heard a lot of similar stories from others with front-loaders. Hope it's a quick and easy fix.
LORI - did you get your tablerunner finished yesterday? We do freeze our meat because we buy it at Costco. I premake burgers and meatloaves to freeze.
BECCA - what a sweet treat to run into the little ones at the library! Libraries are my second favorite happy places next to quilt shops. Sorry little Avery is sick. Hope she is better soon.
CHICKIE - Sorry to hear Mom is fading. You might be able to get OT or PT to come to the house for her to help prevent muscle wasting. I know facility residents get a variety of therapies, as needed. But lots of fun parties in your life this weekend! and lots of cakes and cookies! congratulations to everyone! And I love WA, DC, too, but to visit. Not to live there! I HATE traffic!
TINA - I'm sorry sadness underlaid your Mother's Day. I think most of us are of an age where we are missing our moms. I know I do. But I try to celebrate those days and all the joy that she and my other loved ones brought into my life and do something fun in their honor.
Congrats on your turtle nests! It will be fun to see what happens now! You may be overun with turtles!
Our chicken last night was super-delicious. Served it with wild rice and salad. We have more for tonite. yum!
