SUPPER CLUB - Wed, April 3rd
Good morning!
We were supposed to get rain last night. If we did, it wasn't much but I could smell it in the air when I stepped out on the deck. Love the smell of spring rain!
Yesterday we got nearly everything on our to-do list accomplished. Only one bathroom left to clean today and we'll be ready for anything! We need to leave the house now so as not to mess anything up! lol! I also made oatmeal craisin cookies for the trailer freezer and applesauce for supper tonite. To add a bit of excitement to my day, I found a mouse on the stairs, caught him in a shoebox, and set him on his way outside. An hour later I found another one, not so perky as Mouse #1, but I captured him and put him outside, too. In the afternoon we had a bird flying around in our 15' living room! That was more exciting. He kept perching on the edges of all the souvenier wine glasses I have lined up on the window ledges, but he never knocked one off. The cat, dog, and I were trying to guide the bird low, through the 8' dining room and out the slider. Finally, I gave up and went to make cookies. I think the bird finally escaped because he's gone! What a circus! Of course, Scottie can't do anything without barking about it, and Foxy kept leaping from couch to chair and back. and I was standing on the hearth, waving my broom in the air!
BECCA - so where is the picture of you that Chickie got to see?? I wanna see, too! and don't you have a dr appt tomorrow - hematologist?
CHICKIE - at least you made it to your sewing room! You got to pet and fondle your fabric if not actually sew with it. And I wanna see Becca's party pix, too! How was Audobon last night? and how is Doyal doing with his weight loss?
JANA - hiring windows to be washed is a great idea! We have 3 windows high up in our 15' living room. Bill has to bring in the tall ladder for the insides and get up on the roof to wash the outsides. I hope Ethan's backpack shows up soon. I'm anxious to see your quilt when it's done.
Tonite we are having good friends over for pork roast, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts gratin, and applesauce. Funny Story:
One couple, Ed & Norrie, were best friends with my first parents-in-law so I've know them since I was 17 and always loved them. But lost track of them after Mike died. I ran into them 20 years later, rekindled our friendship, and then Bill & I saw them a few times a year after that. In the meantime I met Esther at a widow's support group and we became good friends. Eventually we both remarried and we got together often with our new DH's. This went on for years until one day we discovered that Esther had known Ed & Norrie in her young first marriage as well! So we all started getting together after that about three times a year. It's non-stop talking and laughing for at least 3 hours every time. So I'm really looking forward to tonite.
and what are you looking forward to this evening.

Good morning
Mary, sounds like quite the exciting day at your house! What a picture you painted in my mind off the circus LOL too funny.
Becca, happy birthday, sorry I'm late but I see you like stretching your birthday out so maybe I'm not too late
Chickie, yay for cleaning your sewing room, I still haven't gotten to mine...one day though. Yes, where are those pics, I'd love to see too.
Jana, you had a friend who washed windows every week?! Eek I don't want that bug!! I was looking at my windows this weekend, it's time to do them again, ugh....they get done twice a year for sure but I do try to wait till the Spring winds are gone. One year I washed all the windows, I thought the Spring winds were over and we had the most horrible dirt storm...you couldn't see out my windows after that! We even had to vacuum the walls, that dirt sifted through the house some how, I even had to wear my CPAP machine just to breath!
We had leftover spaghetti last night and tonight will be leftover roast. I've been trying to do a little outside work every evening, last night it was just watering the front trees and lilac bushes. My early blooming lilac that I have is working overtime this year, she's so full of flowers and smells so pretty!! My second bloomer is getting ready and she gives off the strongest smelling lilacs I've ever smelt! The whole front yard will smell and she sits in the center at the outer front fence about 70' from the house and when I open the front windows when she's bloomed she even smells in the house! She's 34 years old this year, I bought her from Michigan Bulb Co when we got married!
Easton has a horrible cough so he's not going to school today, his Dad is going to take him to the Dr and watch both boys today so I have an unexpected free day, think I'll spend as much of it as I can sewing. We're supposed to have a windy day today so that should help keep me inside and hopefully on track.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, April 3rd
Oh Mary I forgot to tell you why we moved theshed.....we decided that we'd like to make a spot for the grill/smoker with a slanted rooftop/shade thing and our back yard is already pretty full so I think it was Frankie's idea to move the shed out of the back yard, it's the only place that doesn't have pine trees to catch on fire. My yards are so different, the front is wide open, only 5 trees and 4 lilacs and all grass, the back yard is very busy...pond, 9 pine trees, 1 ash tree, 1 elder berry tree, 13 rose bushes, flower beds running the whole length of the house, flower pots everywhere, the gazebo, a small strip of grass, 2 pecan trees, my round clothesline and my iris bed and iris in my tree wells LOL Very very busy.

Good morning.
Maryz, enjoy your company. Sounds like you'll have a good visit with old friends.
Tina, your backyard sounds pretty. We spend a lot of time in our backyard. We have a covered patio are that we can sit in year round. I like being outside. I even bring my sewing machine out there sometimes.
It's been a busy few days. Tonight is homemade pasta and salad for dinner. I'll also be make cookies at some point.
Have a lovely day. Lori
