SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 11, 2019 3:15 am

Good morning!

Well, we found out what Lee & Lara's big announcement is. I was right in guessing that they are selling their house and moving. But I was wrong on where they might be moving to! Washington, D.C. Did not see that coming! Lee is a supervisor in the Bremerton Shipyard. He has 6 years until Retirement. They want to get a position in Europe for 3 yrs before he retires. He learned he has a much better chance of receiving that assignment if he's already working on the east coast. So he applied and got this. They are moving by end of summer. So - excited for them, bummed for me. I already have one daughter living in Texas. And now She will be the CLOSE daughter! Our plan was to stay home this winter and spend the holidays with our local kids, but Mike & Emily also announced that they will be in California for Christmas. So, I came home from brunch and cleaned half of our family room.

BECCA - maybe we can visit each other's families and then swap photos and news! lol! So my lesson yesterday is to treasure every moment you can spend with your family because YOU CAN! Enjoy your birthday party!

JANA - what's going on with your leg? Chronic stuff like arthritis or a new thing? Maybe you need an elevator in your house. Our old friends, Warren & Lois, had one. The cat learned to use it and got to where she would sit at the door to the elevator and wait, rather than use the stairs! lol! But back to your leg . . .

IRISH - sorry to have inspired you to make cookies. I would skip the frosting next time, roll the dough, sprinkle with the green sugar, and then cut & bake. They are good, but that frosting took me another 2 hours! (but between you and me, that's what made them Irish. The liquid in the frosting was Jamesons. ;o] ) Sad news about the two little eaglets. When I saw national weather forecasts and reports, I worried about all the eagles. Looks like for good reason.

TINA - I hope things are looking up today for little Easton. And how is Holly? You said she was sick, too.

Supper tonite? Well, I have leftover pizza sauce, pepperoni, and plenty of cheese so I guess I'll make another pizza. And a salad. I'm feeling the need for green. Or I may put pizza off and have Shredded BBQ pork sandwiches as the buns are fresh right now. Hmmm.... Well, it's one of the other and tomorrow night it will be the other or one.

Happy suppertime!

Good morning :o)
Mary, happy/sad news there.
Holly is better, she just had the 12 hour tummy bug that Preston had. She disinfected her house yesterday and was following Easton around wiping things off that he touched.....Mom duty ya know. She's going to have 1 clean house though for her Spring break from school.
I'll be working on my pouring tea pots today, after I come back from my massage and will be taking laundry breaks. This afternoon I'm planning on going and seeing Captain Marvel by myself. When I get home I'm making stew meat, mashed potatoes and gravy and gren beans for supper.

Hello everyone, cloudy here today after our beautiful day yesterday.

I wish them the best with their move.My Family is so big.But DS1 has all his boys there close to him.

Tina Glad That Holly didn’t get flu. When CA had it years ago Dr told me to use Lysol.I sprayed it every time I went in his room.

Jana Do hope the leg or hip is better.Whatever the problem is.Rest if you can.

It’s been a tops turby day here.Got up early for DHs protime & my blood work.Get down drive & tree branch across road. When the power Co came when power was out ,they left a huge limb hanging & never cut it.It came down during the nite.So I backed up & came home. Now we go another day bec I have to fast.

Good morning!

Mary - well I was waaaay off - figured that a grandchild was getting married. Happy for them, but sad they are moving away from you. But then again, Bill will need to figure out a pontoon system for the truck and trailer so you can travel across the pond for a extended stay!

Tina - enjoy the movie - my kids are planning to see it too.

My arthritsis is acting up. Can't complain too much much, it is in both knees and one hip. Could be worst, a couple of Aleve helps alot.

Michael has a file saved on stair lifts, when that day comes, to get up and down the stairs to the Batt Cave. For now, it takes me a bit, slow, but I can still climb up and down.

Last Friday, I found a new dining room set online at a store near us. Showed Michael, he wanted to see it in person, so we stopped at the store. My luck, it was not on the floor, but this Wednesday they will have one for us to see. It was on sale, so we put down a refundable deposit to hold the sale price. The set comes with a table, 2 leafs, 2 arm chairs and 4 regular chairs. We added 4 more chairs to make seating for ten. That is how long the table will extend, to seat ten. That will handle the adults, and my island can handle 8 of the kids, easily. The table has a dark stained wood top and antiqued white pedestals and matching chairs. Matches the kitchen colors. Also found a large, cute ceramic rooster and two new table lamps. The lamps are wooden, turned and red! Made a small dent in the home furnishing money we have set aside. Can't wait until Wednesday. Funny thing, the dining room light above the set's picture online is almost exactly the one I have, so when I showed Michael, I told him, look, this is how it will look in our house! LOL! Worked too!

Well, Batt Cave is calling!

Dinner - I think it will be banned PNW fruit.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! I started to write earlier, but DH came back from coffee and we had brunch Then neighbor was ready to walk and off I went. Walking felt so good! I hadn’t walked for almost a week. We got in 3 miles between Choc and Ava.

Mary—that was pretty exciting news, even if you had an inkling. I sure liked visiting Washington, DC! I’m not sure about living there, but it’s an amazing city/area. An European stint would be the chance of a lifetime! Hope it happens for them! Mom and DD went to Germany for two weeks when my sister’s DH was stationed there. She took them everywhere including Holland to see the tulips, Austria, Belgium and several places in Germany. They were in one of the prettiest areas of Germany. Start saving up for your and Bill’s extended vacation if they get the assignment!

Becca—I think you should celebrate for as long as you possibly can!!! A day isn’t near long enough—go for all the gusto you can get!

Tina—hope your family is on the mend and it isn’t an extended ordeal!

Jana—how fun to be shopping! Sounds beautiful!!! My DD’s sister-in-law has a stair lift in her home. It’s so handy!

Dinner tonight… we still have some Chinese food. I made brown and black rice last night and had a salad as well. We are getting fat and sassy here!

Bon appétit!
