SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 5

Good morning!
27* and clear, going to mid-40's today. Yesterday was more work in the yard. The biggest job we did was 'prune' a broken rhodedendron in front of the house. It reached the roof of our split level house but now is about 4' tall. It will come back, but it will take a year or two. some of the branches were so big, we cut them for firewood! We gave the old lilac the same treatment and today will move to the backyard to severely cut back some big old bushes there. Everything is looking so much better here. I also fertilized all our rhodies, lilacs, forsythia, honeysuckle, Oregon Grape, salal, red and blue huckleberries. Those last four plants grow wild in our yard and I fertilize and prune them. They are my 'flowers'. Today is the last day of the BIG yard work. Rain moves in tomorrow, thank goodness! I need rest!
today we're also going to Tacoma to get oil changed on pick-up and the tires rotated. While in town, we'll go to my favorite fabric store to try to get more of the fabric I want to make binding for ISBS. I only have 1/3 yd and I need twice that and I'm almost certain I bought it there.
JANA - Your cake is gorgeous! so simple and elegant! You and your girls should be very proud of yourselves! Did you finish it at home an transport it to reception all decorated or did you take layers to reception and finish it there? My mom always made her cocoa from scratch but never told me how she did it. When you say chocolate in a can, do you mean cocoa powder or is there another kind of chocolate. We don't have Ghillardelli's here. It's Hershey's or nothing. I do buy their extra special dark variety though.
CHICKIE - please don't sweat no joining my swap. I know just how busy you are! Looks like you'll be spending quite a lot of time with Mom in the coming weeks. Will you bring her to your house when your BIL has surgery or will you go there every day? Glad you are getting in your yoga and Hooligans!
BECCA - So you live in a rain shadow on the eastern side of your mountains from town? I will be glad for you when the weather finally warms up for good. We have a possibility of more snow on Thursday. And yet I picked 3 daffodils in my yard yesterday! I think Mother Nature and Father Time aren't getting along! Here, squirrels get under the hoods of vehicles and chew wires or make nests.
TINA - I explained how I size photos over in the Tea Party swap.
Our pizza last night was SOOO good! and we'll have the other half tonite.
