SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Feb 22

Good morning! And happy Washington's birthday! I learned yesterday that he was only 67 when he died (MY age!). I guess I pictured him to be much older after all he accomplished in his life. I was able to visit Mt. Vernon with my parents when I was 16, tour his home, and visit his and Martha's graves there on his plantation. I would love to go back again.
Yesterday was awesome here! 44* (warm by the last few weeks' standards!) and bright sunshine. I worked outside for about 3 hours and got a lot done in the yard. Then I came in, put a binding on a small quilt made from Christmas swap blocks (I put the top together last fall and Bill quilted it last week), and then started putting more 30's swap blocks together. I made a double set of 30's swap blocks, so I'm getting 3 quilts out of them. I hope to finish the second top today. I also decided to take a long hot soak in Epson Salts. I was reading in the tub and suddenly Foxy came into the bathroom and jumped up and into the tub, catching himself at the last minute, dunking only his front half. He scrabbled to keep from falling in and I was scrabbling to get away from all those stickers of his! It was a bathing adventure for us both!
Today's weather is colder and wetter so no yard work. But we'll hit Costco and the grocery store. And maybe do a few indoor uglies.
JANA - I checked out the Outback. Looks like a lot of sleeping room! And a 3-burner stove. So many of the newer RV's only come with 2 burners now. I can see a lot of family fun in the coming years!
IRISH - I think a zoo is a great setting for a wedding! Where will the reception be? July isn't that far away. . . Are you making a wedding quilt? Thanks for the new info on the eagles. I didn't know about 'branching'. Did you get your haircut? Maybe you, too, should consider a colored streak. all the coolest people are getting them, you know.
TINA - You had a busy school day!! My mom used to drive us to St. Leo's Catholic school in Tacoma every day - 15 miles each direction - and come back and get us every afternoon. Over the toll bridge. Finally, when I was in 8th grade she just started volunteering in the high school library and eventually that turned into a paying job. She worked there until my little sister graduated. My mom was more popular at my school than I was! lol! Hope Jaz is better now and didn't share with the boys. Will Easton be going to Kindergarten in the fall? And if those baby cats weren't 2,500 miles away, yes, I'd probably be taking two of them! Kittens need playmates. And I'd probably be in divorce court, too. But I've have KITTENS!!
BECCA - Yes, yard work is never ending. worse than laundry! I assume your plan is to show improvement in your WBC by your next visit and thus avoid having to visit the hemotologist? I would, too!
supper tonite for us will be the second half of the chicken/rice casserole I made last night. Bill loves casseroles and he liked that concoction, too. And maybe, since we're going grocery shopping, a salad with more in it than lettuce. We are out of everything - even dressing so we had simple oil & vinegar, which is actually better for us anyway. But I do love my blue cheese and he's addicted to 1,000 Island.
What good thing are you having for supper tonite?
