Good frozen morning!
We are 23* here and still have our snow. Less than an inch but it sure grounded us! It's slick snow, and now it has a layer of ice under it. I think I'll try to get in my walk this morning, though. Scottie is bouncing off the walls with energy.
Yesterday we postponed our breakfast with Lee & Lara. They would have had to drive 30 miles on the icy roads. Hopefully things will be better next weekend. So we all stayed home. Bill cleaned out the file cabinet and I sorted projects in my sewing room. I found I have a total of 16 UFOs! 8 finished tops, most of which needed backs pieced together. And 8 sets of blocks to sew together, most are from swaps. So I need to get busy and knock down those numbers!
JANA - I've seen the whole dinners cooked on one big baking sheet. (but not with catfood!). I kind of did that last night, but had 3 baking dishes all lined up in the oven. I should have done it your way. Glad the fireplace is fixed. Assume it's gas? Nice! No mess from the wood!
TINA - you didn't yell hard enough at the Rams! You are 70*? Nice!
CHICKIE - your description of how you and your DD arranged your church event made me think of the scene in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" where Mary, the new bride, fixed up the old abandoned mansion to look like a tropical paradise. You are always so creative!! You know, people pay for that kind of service . . . How was your Audubon meeting? Did they come??
BECCA - I bet you mean Debbie Macomber? She is a prolific author. The TV series, Cedar Cove, was inspired by her. She lives about 15 miles up the road from me. I've never met her myself but my SIL has and says she's a very nice person. Her books make great Hallmark movies. Other local authors include J.A. Jance, Mary Daheim, Earl Emerson, G.M. Ford, Gregg Olson, and a few more I can't recall right now.
Tonite I think we'll have pork chops and scalloped potatoes. We have more brussels sprouts (I bought a bag at Costco so you'll be hearing about them for a while). Another oven dinner!
Got any good ideas for your supper?

Good morning!
Mary - I behaved - Costco was out of "catfood"! So I changed over and cheated with a meal that Costco puts together - meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Just heat in the oven - it was very good! Enough gor tonight too.
Michael does not have the flu, bronchitsis, or anything contagious. He aspirated some water about two weeks ago and the lungs are very finicky about things like that and are causing the problem. The Dr put him on Flonase, a steriod treatment that will quiet everything down. Seems to be working. Pnue...atitsis, something like that, is what it is called.
Becca - glad you got the leak turned off and fixed now. And you have sunshine!
Dinner is the leftovers from the meatloaf dinner last night.
Doing uglies today.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from another overcast, gloomy day. We are to get rain, rain, rain later and most of the night… just what we do NOT need! The meeting is tonight, and I’m ready. Just have to load everything in the back of my truck under the cover. Of course, it will probably be raining when I’m loading. Ugh!
I got everything made and ready yesterday. I hate to leave stuff like that to last minute in case something unforeseen happens.
There’s no way I’d do event planning! It’s fun when it’s not work. When it becomes a job… fun leaves and it becomes work. The church lessons were fun, but it was difficult to get anyone to volunteer to do anything so it became harder and harder each month. But, everyone did come out to eat!!!
The fabrics that I ordered for my grand-daughter-in-law and her mother’s table runners should arrive today—just in time for rainy, in-house time!
Becca—I like the idea of apples with chicken breasts. I’ve always done them with pork chops. Unfortunately, my fried apples are probably less than healthy but oh-so-good! No working outside here—to chilly and windy, and now rain coming.
Jana—I’ve heard of aspiration pneumonia. Hope Michael recovers quickly! Sorry you didn’t yet the pink treat last night!
Mary—Our rain will probably turn to ice at some point but not stay too long. Friday will be cold, but it’s to be sunny. I’m planning on going over and spending the afternoon with DD on her afternoon off. That is… unless it’s icy. This is pretty unusual weather for you guys! Welcome to my corner of the world.
Today… meeting tonight. DH wants to go to town and pay the rental water bills before 5:00, so we will get to stop and have something for dinner out. It will be light, since we will be eating after the Audubon program.
I’ll be walking Ava later and playing in my sewing room with my new fabrics!
Enjoy today! Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from a chilly, semi sunny, SW. Pa...It sure isn't anything like sunny Florida but sometimes, some good things must come to an end......
I tried to post yesterday, had it all written and pushed the wrong button and I have no idea where it went, so I gave up....
Mary, You should know by now, not to clean out those closets unless you're really, really bored....But, knowing you, you will zip through all those UFOs and have an empty bin again....And if once again, you might get bored, I'll send you some of mine to work on....I have one top I really should send you...It's all embroidered and I was going to hand quilt it, then thought I'd sent it out but don't know of anyone around here...Decisions, decisions, decisions.....So, you got a little snow..Some how, that doesn't excite me, lol...Did have a text from Kathy and Donner Pass had gotten 8 feet and still snowing...She said, Reno was cold and probably get some of the white stuff and she sure wasn't excited...She will be here in 3 weeks and then we'll be off to see Lena, who turned 4 months yesterday..I'll bet she knows how to say "Grammy" by now.....
Becca, nice to see you are having nice weather..Yesterday up here was great, only needed a light sweat shirt...But, did hear, winter will be making a come back...Being without water is terrible...How many times, you go to turn the faucet, just need a drink...Thank goodness it was an easy fix....AND boy do I agree about that cost of painting, way too much.....
Kathy, I think I'd get estimates, seems high to for painting, although last year I had 3 ceilings painted and it was close to $400...I did all the walls myself and will be doing the upstairs soon, but I'll do the ceilings, which aren't that high....But, it seems, now days, everything is too pricey...When Jim painted for people, he was dirt cheap and did a fantastic job....
Jana, Glad to hear Michael is getting relief...I've heard good things about the Flonase...I think it's time for me to get a fireplace, but I don't have much room to add more furniture so I might get something that will hold the TV....
Chickie, I know you're out there..Hopefully you didn't get blown away but if you did, I'll be on the watch....When I talk to Stephan, DGS,
he tells me it's windy....Also, Mary sent me a book marker like the one she sent you...Interesting is all I'm going to say, lol....
Chriss, you and Jerry must be hurting as well as Marylyn...So sad! You have done so much...Prayers for your DIL, hoping she'll be able kick it......
I had started this post hours ago and keep getting phone calls, people stopping over, I'm sure not accomplishing too much....
My trip was fantastic and we sure didn't want to come back..We did have rain and chilly temps the 1st couple of days, but that gave us time to get out the decks of cards and of course a sip or 2 of the juice of grapes....We went to 3 different beaches, stuck our toes in the cold water...Most of the time, our dinner would be at a different place...There were 4 of us and I kept thinking I was getting that feeling of living in a dorm or apartment...But, honestly, we had a great time....When we landed in Pgh.(shock to the old body) and there was still a little snow but I just liked to think of it as some of the white sand from the Gulf....AND while we there, we rode up to N. Ft. Myers and visited the Eagle's nest (what a thrill) and also visited with Gin, also good.....Not sure when we'll be going back but Kathy will be here in 3 weeks and we will be going to Carlisle to spoil little Lena, who is 4 months old and probably talking...At least she has her parents under control, I'm sure.....
Judi is probably all set up and hopefully, it's nice and warm.....
As for my dinner, it's going to probably be my lunch, which I forgot. AND my excuse for the weird things I'm doing, I'm still suffering from "jet lag", might even last a few weeks....Might have some soup and a sandwich in a little while.....
You all have a safe rest of the day....
Happy eating..............

Hello

Hmmm, I thought I posted this morning....guess not.
Mary, yes we were right at 70, it was nice but tomorrow we're turning cold again with nasty winds.
Becca, I turned the volume almost off at halftime, not my kind of entertainment at all.
These allergies are really zapping my energy.
We had leftover finger foods from Sunday, I just didn't feel like cooking at all. I did get the kitchen cleaned up before heading of to bed.
