Good morning!
We have snow!! Just a little bit, but I'll take it! 27* and white outside. This storm came out of the Frazier Valley in B.C. Sue, who lives practically within site of the border is 16*. I'm sure folks driving into work aren't as happy as I am to see snow - which includes my son and my two grandsons - but I love it. We'll be out in it, too, later this morning as we go to meet Lara and Lee for late breakfast to celebrate her birthday.
In other news, I finally got the very last of the house put together. No more homecoming chores! My sewing room is all cleaned and I have nothing to do today but sew. I just need to figure out WHAT to sew! lol! I have to many choices!
We did watch the game last night but it was a real snore. The commercials, ditto. Plus the team we were rooting for lost. However, it was the last football for another 6 months so we watched it to the very end. And they did a VERY good job of honoring America before the game. Young sisters sang American the Beautiful with beautiful photos of our country. Then Gladys Knight sang the Star Spangled Banner. And EVERYONE stood, many with hands over hearts.
BECCA - what book were you reading that was set in the PNW? There are many. I've read many of them.
TINA - sounds like your day was all roses and violets yesterday! Who were you rooting for in the game - or did you care?
MARY ROSE - chicken pasta salad sounds good, though I hope you didn't find that in the freezer!
CHICKIE - I bet your cookies are little works of art! Hope your mud is drying out. No slipping/sliding for you!
We did have our spaghetti last night. And I think we'll have baked chicken breasts, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts for supper. I can put them all into the oven together and toss a saladd while they bake/roast.
What sounds tempting to you tonite?

Good morning!
I will be the one in trouble today. Watched a cooking show I have taped and they cooked a sheet pan dinner of roasted red potatoes, roasted broccoli and pond fruit from the PNW, our favorite. Everything cooked on the sheet pan in the oven and looked very yummy and easy. And since I am taking the kids to Costco, Lila needs diapers and formula, Costco has fresh PNW pond fruit.
Mary - I too watched the game, rooting for the NFC. Only one good commercial, the football greats. Gladys Knight did a fantastic job on singing the National Anthem. Watched the game with no sound, that way, no talking heads! Only turned on the sound for commercials. Snow! The fun white stuff at your house! Get Bill with a snowball, then run!
Today the fireplace repairnan is coming. We have had this appointment since November. Only two dealers here in Salt Lake and Utah counties. That is where the majority of the population of Utah lives! The fireplace adds heat and we didn't realize how much until now. The furnace does a ggreat job, but that little bit more from the fireplace really helps. Also, in a power outage we need it. Michael has spent time researching adding a humidifer and now knows what to look for and ask. We really need one with such a insulated house. The humidity in the house is less than 5 percent, too dry!
Well, time to get dressed and look presentable - the repairman will be here in the early morning time slot.
Enjoy!

Good morning

I'm here early because I'll have all 3 kids today because it's parent teacher day.
Mary, I was really rooting hard for the Rams, they're Kevin's team. I yelled at them and everything.....it did no good

We have thick fog this morning, no snow. But we've been too warm for snow, almost 70 yesterday, it was a beautiful day except a little windy in the afternoon but thankfully that didn't last long.
I think I'll fix spaghetti for supper, I've been craving it.
Off to get ready and start my day.
Tina

Good morning! I’m starting this before yoga. I really needed my coffee! It’s gloomy outside, and I’m having trouble getting in gear. I’ve cleaned the floors, so I’m ready for yoga—just can’t make myself get started. I know it has to do with no sun. We were 60 yesterday, but today will only be 51 with north winds. So much for an afternoon of spring!
The cookies were baked and decorated yesterday. Funny, there are blank spaces in my pans now. I’m just really hoping I have enough for tomorrow night!!! I’ve instructed “hands off”, but that seems to go no farther than in one ear and out the other. Today I’ll make some tortilla roll ups—I have a recipe using cooked chicken, craisins and pecans. They sound really delish! Jana—I found them on Pinterest. It’s dangerous to look there! LOL! I also have cheeses, salami and summer sausage to cut up as well as veggies to arrange on a tray and pickles and olives. We eat pretty well at Audubon. I’ve found that “if you feed them; they will come.”
Years ago in our little church, no one would come to the monthly missionary meeting. It was really dry and boring. Somehow, my DD and I got signed up for the meeting. We made posters to advertise the program which was about missionaries in the Caribbean islands, said it would be in the fellowship hall, and food would be served. We made all kinds of tropical type treats and put up the decorations on Sunday before the meeting on Wednesday.—just to pique the interest. We made the lesson interesting with “characters” and not just reading it in a monotone. We ended up with more people than on Sunday morning! Needless to say, we were “volunteered” for lots more meetings!
I didn’t watch the game. I was truly disappointed in the outcome and glad I didn’t waste my time watching it. I taped some PBS programs—Neil Diamond and The Highwaymen. I watched them while decorating cookies and through much of the pre-game time. My neighbor and I also walked 3 miles—so glad we got it in yesterday as today will be chilly!
Jana—our house is well insulated—we used the open cell spray foam. The only part that isn’t is the doggy door which is constantly in use. We were going to put in a fireplace but didn’t. I’m still leery of any “fire” in the house. I do use a few candles once in awhile, but they are set in metal pans in water. I’ll be joining you for dinner! Put out an extra plate for me!
Mary—we are supposed to have rain tomorrow… more mud! At the end of our driveway in the dirt road is the worst mess. It will never dry out at this rate!
O.K. I’ve put this off long enough… must go get my zen for the day! Dinner tonight will be salad for me and DH will have his pork chop and apples. (Two pork chops makes 4 meals for him. It’s really boring cooking here.)
Bon appétit!

By the way, the girl at the end of the 100 years of football commercial is from right here in Salt Lake. If I remember right, she is from South Jordan, the town next to me. Well i was wrong, she is from Herriman!
