SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Happy Saturday!
It was a soggy day here yesterday. I think we're drying out but now we're chilling down. Chance of a few snow showers Monday, but I doubt there will be anything - maybe a few flakes. Our mountains NEED snow!
Besides shopping at Costco, our first trip in 4-1/2 months, there was a lot of repackaging things for the freezer. It all took a big chunk of my sewing time! So I didn't get my lotto blocks finished, but I plan to this morning - then it's off to the post office I go. Then to go look for something for my DD#1's birthday which is tomorrow.
BECCA - I'm not sure who has the most fun with the Play-doh - the kiddoes or you! lol! Did you see on the news that President Trump is trying to cut out the middle man on Rx's and get rid of the kickbacks that doctors, med centers, etc. receive, which is a big part of the prices that consumers pay. He wants us to be able to purchase meds directly from the drug companies themselves.
JANA - I saw you learned how the embroidery works in your machine. Learning new things keeps the mind sharp! I hope there were only good things in your mail when you were finally able to get it. What a scary thing to happen on the freeway. Shades of Live PD! Glad everyone was OK and that they were able to catch the woman. Bet her fine was a biggie and deservedly so!
CHICKIE - glad you finished your quilt repair! Now on to something fun! I remember those days of 'making do'. You had to get creative! Mike and I raised a garden at my parents place. My MIL gave me canning jars for my birthday and I canned a lot of food that got us through the winter. An "evening out" was to stroll the Mall and snack on the free samples that Hickory Farms put out. Then we'd "disguise" ourselves by removing our jackets and go through again! How many people go to the Audubon meetings? Do you trade off bringing the snacks?
MARY ROSE - everyone is entitled to one gaffe here. ONE. Plus, you get your birthday and one other special occasion per year when I'm willing to take some Pepto Bismol and look the other way.
Supper here is going to be ham & beans. Cornbread would be a nice addition to that, so maybe I"ll make some of that, too. I'm feeling the need to bake something. Better that than cake. Or maybe not. Hot cornbread dripping with butter - yum!
