Happy Saturday!

It was a soggy day here yesterday. I think we're drying out but now we're chilling down. Chance of a few snow showers Monday, but I doubt there will be anything - maybe a few flakes. Our mountains NEED snow!

Besides shopping at Costco, our first trip in 4-1/2 months, there was a lot of repackaging things for the freezer. It all took a big chunk of my sewing time! So I didn't get my lotto blocks finished, but I plan to this morning - then it's off to the post office I go. Then to go look for something for my DD#1's birthday which is tomorrow.

BECCA - I'm not sure who has the most fun with the Play-doh - the kiddoes or you! lol! Did you see on the news that President Trump is trying to cut out the middle man on Rx's and get rid of the kickbacks that doctors, med centers, etc. receive, which is a big part of the prices that consumers pay. He wants us to be able to purchase meds directly from the drug companies themselves.

JANA - I saw you learned how the embroidery works in your machine. Learning new things keeps the mind sharp! I hope there were only good things in your mail when you were finally able to get it. What a scary thing to happen on the freeway. Shades of Live PD! Glad everyone was OK and that they were able to catch the woman. Bet her fine was a biggie and deservedly so!

CHICKIE - glad you finished your quilt repair! Now on to something fun! I remember those days of 'making do'. You had to get creative! Mike and I raised a garden at my parents place. My MIL gave me canning jars for my birthday and I canned a lot of food that got us through the winter. An "evening out" was to stroll the Mall and snack on the free samples that Hickory Farms put out. Then we'd "disguise" ourselves by removing our jackets and go through again! How many people go to the Audubon meetings? Do you trade off bringing the snacks?

MARY ROSE - everyone is entitled to one gaffe here. ONE. Plus, you get your birthday and one other special occasion per year when I'm willing to take some Pepto Bismol and look the other way.

Supper here is going to be ham & beans. Cornbread would be a nice addition to that, so maybe I"ll make some of that, too. I'm feeling the need to bake something. Better that than cake. Or maybe not. Hot cornbread dripping with butter - yum!

Good morning :)
I'm making whole wheat pancakes right now, DH's favorite and his request.
I'm planning on sewing my 4 lotto blocks together this morning then I have my leg treatment. I know I have all the laundry to do but we're waiting to see if we're taking Dad to his friend's birthday party out of town, it'll be dark when it's over so he was telling me he might want me to drive him. If that doesn't happen then we will probably go to Cruces to replace my pond pump that totally died a few days ago, it's under extended warranty so that's good at least. So with all my maybe this and maybe that I'm not sure where I'll be at supper time, if home it'll be a burger on the grill.

Good afternoon! I pumped up the economy at the LQS and had to get out before I blew more than a month’s fabric budget! I found lots of fabric that I can use and many on sale. It was a fun trip. The Hooligans rode shotgun. DS3 texted me as I was on my way to town this morning and said he was working today and tomorrow instead of Monday and Tuesday, and would I be available for Choc. Of course I would; and I stopped on my way home after lunch with Mom. The Hooligans and I will be on duty!

Our weather says 53 degrees, but the humidity is almost 100%; at one point this morning it was 100%, but it wasn’t misting or raining. There’s also a breeze, so it feels much cooler. Still… it beats the heck out of last Saturday morning when everything was frozen and nasty! The year the quilt shop opened, they had to postpone their opening day because of snow and ice. Yes, it could be MUCH worse!

MaryZ—I only have refreshments once a year for Audubon. Another person is bringing things as well. We usually have 30 to 40 people, and it can be more. You never really know. I’m going to work on the table runners for DGDIL and her mom, then I’ll quilt on DD’s quilt. I’m going to go spend one afternoon this week with her on her afternoon off.

Tina—I vote for being caught out at dinner time and getting to waive cooking! I looked at the Lotto, and I really like it. I wonder if I’ll find a few minutes… I downloaded the Hen Party blocks for last month and this month. It would make a really cute throw for one of the DDILs. It’s another for my bucket list file.

Since I got down to the quilt shop and back in record time, I think I’ll bake my cookies, or get a start on them.

Dinner tonight: I got pork chops to make for DH with fried apples. I’ll probably have mainly salad and/or soup.

Bon appétit!

Supper tonight is hamburger and onion rings from BK. I didn't feel like cooking once I got off work.

Maryz-The ham, beans and cornbread sound awesome. Made my mouth water.
