Supper Club -Monday, Jan 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jan 28, 2019 1:15 am

Good morning

We are about 265 miles from home. But they will be the worst miles as we go through Portland during morning rush hour, then Olympia, all of the Fort Lewis And Tacoma traffic. Then we will need to park our trailer at home under Vicki‘s angry gaze. Our friend Tex moved his trailer out of our RV port yesterday and she really gave him the evil eye. I’m pretty excited to be going home but certainly not looking forward to that aspect of our lives.

Jana, I guess I never thought people actually made pastrami. I suppose I thought it just happened! I am not a big fan of it myself, but maybe I would like your homemade. Sounds like a Sarah’s job just got a lot busier.

Chickie, sorry about another visitation. It used to be baby showers I went to, then my social life revolved around little kids birthday parties. Then graduations, weddings, anniversaries, and grandkids. It seems the only time large groups get together anymore is funerals. I bet you will be glad to see the last of this quilt repair project. And of course, your friend in Tucson loved the beautiful quilt you made for her! What’s next?

Becca, what kind of books do you like to read? I like mysteries, myself. Not too gruesome, though.

We should be home by noon. Our friends, Tex&Annette, have invited us to come to dinner tonight so I don’t know what it will be. It’s often pork roast at their house which would be good, but we’ll wait and be surprised.

Good morning! The pond thawed yesterday, but only briefly, as temperatures are falling all day today and we are under wind warnings. I’d like to walk to see Choc and Ava, but I don’t know… It will be 33 degrees with a 25 mph north wind at time to go walk them… I did my yoga practice this morning; maybe that will be enough exercise…

Mary, I hear what you are saying about the progression of life. We are losing our friends too quickly! I’m going to grandkids’ showers and weddings now. Such is the circle of life. One of the “kids” I babysat years ago was killed in a car accident last week. I was shocked to find that little kid was 68 years old!!! I think he was maybe 8 when I babysat him.
You will make it home soon! I used to leave work a couple of hours early to go visit my sister when she lived in Omaha. I managed to drive through Topeka at their rush hour—so much for leaving early! Good luck with the evil eye!!!

I’m still working on my cousin’s quilt. It will take the rest of the week, no doubt. My fingers are going (are already) to be so sore from pushing, pulling and getting stuck with the big needle as I work the double strands of crochet thread through the corduroy top, batting and heavy backing. Binding will be a chore, too. I’ll do it all by machine and wrestle the quilt through my machine.

I also have my DD’s Christmas birds quilt to sandwich, quilt and finish. Then… my new grand daughter in law texted me last night and asked if I’d make her mom a table runner like I made her for Christmas. Oops! I used every scrap of camo fabrics I had for it. So… guess I’ll be making an order and making some more camo items. I’ll do one for Brynn as well as her mom. This young woman is just as sweet as she is beautiful, and she is stunning!

DH is home from coffee so, time to fix brunch. Dinner tonight… TBD. Maybe we will grab something out when we go to town for our friend’s visitation.

Hope everyone has a great day! Stay warm—bon appétit!

Good morning :)
Almost home Mary :) How is Bill doing?
Frankie does wear coveralls during the morning but once the sun comes out and it starts getting even a little warm he sheds those. I put some Dawn dishwashing soap in the washer last night to see if it would give a little boost to cleaning. I watched something that said it's a great degreaser for clothes.
Chickie, your temps are kind of biting cold brrrrr.
I cleaned my front yard again this morning and have the sprinklers running, you can already see green :) and my lilac bushes are getting ready. The mustard weed is a killer for my allergies, I walk outside and my sinuses start pouring! I'll be staying in till Frankie gets rid of them in the front yard. It's gonna be time to spend more time outside pretty soon :) yard work! I hope we don't have a dusty Spring.
My one spot in my right leg is being so stubborn, it's really bothering me especially at night when I'm trying to relax, hopefully it'll get better with a couple more treatments. The treatments seem to be helping with less pain and a little less swelling. If I could go the recommended 2-3 times a week it would probably be better but can't afford that so do what I can.
We had chile rellenos and rice last night and leftovers are planned for tonight :) we love rellenos.

Hello everyone, sunny & cloudy here mostly.Coldis to hit tonite with snow. Will see.

Maryz I love mysteries.biographies, history,Just a good book with a good story behind it.I just love reading, always have.Welcome home & hope the neighbor doesn’t get riled.

Tina Your tali King about Frankie’s clothes reminded me of my DS when he was teen.I used to rinse his clothes outside with the hose then bring them in to soak ,then wash.He loved to fish & Hunt.I no longer deal with that.Do hope the treatments help your pain.

Chickie I Too have lost several friends.I still have Weddings & showers to attend. But it also been lots of visitations.Guess it tells us something.I used to repair quilts & what a job it is.Especially if the fabric is thick. You are a popular person when it comes to getting something made.My life used to be that way too. They have finally stopped asking.

I just got home from town.Lots of people out doing errands & shopping.Got it all done.Did find some bargains at the grocery store.Got some of that 15 bean soup mix to try.
We have pinto beans & cornbread for dinner with spring onions. Becca
