Supper Club -Sat, Jan 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 26, 2019 1:55 am

Good morning!

We are at Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield. We picked about 10 pounds of oranges yesterday using a long handled orange picker. The temp was 67° and we were able to sit outside until sunset. Very nice except it’s quite smoggy here. First time we have run into that. And they bumped the price up a lot! So we won’t be staying a second night here, but moving on up the road another 350 miles to a little town called Calusa on Highway 99, north east of Sacramento. I texted my neighbor who lives across the road at home and who Scotty and I walk with every morning. They are new to RVing and came south for only a few weeks. They are not too far away, are on their way home, and may stay at Colusa tonight, too! We can park for free in the back parking lot of many casinos. We aren’t much for gambling but we are all in favor of free parking!

Jana, we have about 500 miles to get to the Siskyou’s. They straddle the Oregon California border and I-5 runs right through them. They can be dicey in winter but my daughter said they were clear a few days ago when they were driving home from San Diego. .

Chickie, is this “lquilt you are repairing quilted or tied? I repaired one for my cousin a couple years ago and it was tied. I was able to clip all the ties, make the repairs, and re-tile. I did not have to re-bind however . The polyesther backing had been pulled to the front to make a wide hem and i just had to resew that in places.

Irish, you probably won’t see this-you are off today! Bon voyage! We will miss you but hope you have a long, happy, warm vacation ! Judi is leaving in a couple days for Florida too. Wouldn’t it be funny if you two ran into each other ! We will keep the bail fund handy!

Becca, how is your hubby feeling today? Hope the day on the couch rested him up .

Tina, you had a busy day yesterday with your little ones! How is Frankie‘s job going? Does he like it? Is it full-time?

We are working our way back to living in Pacific time zone. The trick is teaching our “boys“ that we sleep until five. They are still wanting to get up at 4 AM. And Foxy likes to sleep between our pillows for a few hours every night. But I woke up at 4 AM and that’s where I was! And Foxy had my whole pillow, sprawled out like it was his own Royal bed.

We plan to be on the road early. Should be a seven hour day so we will have a long afternoon to relax once we get to our nights destination. We think we will get out the grill and cook some burgers tonight.

Well rats! I was trying to post a picture. We are using different Internet right now. Don’t know if that is affecting you that I can’t get a photo to come. Sorry!

Good morning!

Mary - I do know where Colusa is. If you look on your map, Daniel lives in Elverta, not too far away. The storms have stopped coming through to us from the PNW for a few days. Hope that helps. During some flooding last year, Daniel was sent out to rescue a woman, who disobeyed the road closed sign as she just had to get to the casino! Her words. There are a few casinos up that way.

Dinner - I am in the mood for some broccoli cheese soup in a fresh homemade bread bowl. Since we are only two and my bread bowl recipe makes six, I will turn the rest of the dough into cinnamon rolls. Might make a huge batch of soup and freeze some as well.

Did a bunch of cleaning yesterday. We picked up Ethan from school and took him to piano lessons, then I supervised and he made rice krispy treats for his snack.

Sarah's sod job just got a whole lot bigger! The sod farm had a employee, the main one who ran the whole operation, caught and charged in federal court with embezzlement of a large sum of money. Sarah's sod company was a independent contractor, selling and delivering sod here in northern Utah. Now the owners of the sod farm, which has hundreds of thousands of acres of sod, want the company Sarah works for, to handle everything! All orders and the logistics of the trucks being loaded and where they go, etc. She can do all of that from here. The owner of her sod company, will be opening a office and hiring Sarah a assistant. Before, Sarah did all the work from her phone and house. On average, during the week, Sarah would book about 100,000 square feet of sod to be delivered here, now there will be much more.

Well, time to run Saturday errands. The heart craft project is coming along. Found a bunch of crafty things to put on the hearts, and the jute to hang them with.

Enjoy!
Jana

Hi everyone :)
Mary, Frankie likes his job but man oh man does he get nasty dirty! His clothes are usually black and covered in grease and nasty diesel....there's been a couple days I tell him to leave his clothes outside.
We've had a good day so far....we took all 3 furkids to the groomer, then I had my treatment on my legs, I've been having major pain in my right leg and she worked on that leg and a problem lymph node for quite awhile, I'll see if it helps me sleep better tonight...then Frankie decided to go run some errands after we had a salad for lunch so we went to the LQS because she text me she was having a 20% off sale this week so I found perfect fabric for the lotto for February and a few other fabrics for my gnome grown BOM, then we went for chicken feed and found some candles, a farm-opoly game and a diecast steel mini Farmall tractor to add to Frankie's collection, then the dogs were ready so we went and got them and just got back home. I've got laundry going, supper thawing and checking in here :) When I was having my legs done this morning, Frankie mowed the front yard and I turned the sprinklers on and it's all nice and clean and washed off, maybe the furkids will stay cleaner longer with the dirt washed off of the grass now.
We're going to have a little steak grilled, salad and baked sweet potato for supper.
Tina
