Good morning!

We had wind all day long yesterday. My sister and brother-in-law were gone all day And most of the people in campers around us left, too. They probably went into Yuma to restaurants, movies, and anything to keep them out of the wind. We stayed in our trailer mostly. Bill started the generator and I did a little sewing - put together four or five farm girl vintage blocks. Later we went to an early dinner at Olive Garden in town and had spaghetti. Since it was still too windy to sit out when we returned, we all retired to our own RVs about 6:30. Getting a lot of reading done here. Finally went to bed about 8:30 PM. This morning we are back into Mexico to finish Bill‘s tooth. When we get back to the trailer-a matter of only A couple of miles, We will be off to Quartzsite, probably a 2-hour drive where we will again be parked out in the middle of the desert-BLM land that is open to RVs.

Chickie, I have to agree with the other girls and I probably would have waited until later in the day to go to town. But I have learned you are one determined, self-sufficient, and very capable lady. So probably, were I in your situation, I would’ve just called you! Lol!

Jana, I know you must be fearful for Aaron every day he’s on the job, but at the same time, so very proud. He has probably already lost track of the number of people he has helped. Have you started putting that log cabin together yet?

Irish, I am sure Ruby is a “go-er” In the snow and it’s nice to know that but unless you need to, I agree there’s no point in testing it out. If it’s any comfort to her being parked without heat at the airport, every night my Bluebell, and ‘05 sky blue Camry, sleeps in a cold garage and she does just fine. But I’m certainly not letting her know how your Ruby lives the high life with heat!

Becca, are you feeling back to normal yet? Nice of you to answer the call when your church group needed you. Hope you warm up soon!

Supper might be tacos or burgers on the grill. If it’s not fit to be outside, I have mini meat loaves in the freezer that I can pop into the oven with some potatoes. Also, my sister has smoked pork chops and scalloped potatoes that we may get one night.

I hope your supper is more certain than ours!

Good afternoon from partly sunny but very, very cold, SW. Pa...But, a heat wave is coming, going up to mid 30s, I think....

Mary, I would have stayed inside and caught up in my reading or as you did, do some sewing...I don't do wind very well...And for sure, we won't let Ruby talk to Bluebell...I think all our cars have been spoiled and now, the last car who the neighbors bought, is sitting outside and I just want to go over and throw a blanket over it...

Becca, so glad to see you at the table..And happy to hear you're on the mend...It's best to not to rush the healing, it takes time...

Today is going to be a lazy day, I can feel it happening already, lol....But, this is also a big day...Dan and Casey are taking me to dinner and then to see Hamilton...Bad thing, I might have to get dressed up a little and even wear shoes!

So as far as dinner, where ever we go and whatever we have will be great!

4 more sleeps before we leave...Maybe I should think about packing....

You all have a great day.........

Happy eating..........

Good morning! I was up and out early to feed and walk Choc. The Hooligans rode shotgun with me in anticipation of the treats they would get when I was finished. They live for treats. After we returned, I cleaned the floors and practiced my yoga. Here I am after paying bills and making a second cuppa joe.

Irish—I’d love to have heated seats and a starter thingy! LOL! If I still worked, I’d definitely have a garage! I don’t have to get out in bad weather too often, thankfully. I like to do my shopping early and avoid the fray later. I don’t have enough hours in my day to do it later, either. No, I wouldn’t tell Kathy about the book until after they return! It would definitely give me cold feet! LOL!

The best vehicle I ever had for driving on snow was my ’73 VW Beetle. That thing was like a snow plow and would go anywhere. I drove through 12” of snow before the streets had been plowed and picked up another secretary for work. I still miss that Bug! If I ever retire Millie (my millennium truck), I’ll get all wheel drive or 4WD.

DH arrived for brunch, so that ended my session here. Soon it was time to walk Choc again and see Ava and walk her as well. I put on a hooded wind breaker, and the Hooligans and I set forth… The mist that had stopped started again about the time I left our lane and got to the road. As we hustled along in the wind, the mist got heavier. The farther along we went, the wind drove the mist through my clothes like cold needles and was no longer a mist but a full on drizzle. Still we pushed on… Going back for the car was not an option—mud inside the car would mean I’d have something else to clean! So, onward we went. We did 1.8 miles in 35 minutes, so not too bad. I had a full change of clothes when I got home!

I still have two more trips to walk Choc. Later I will definitely drive. We have a wintry mix coming in this evening as the temperatures have been falling all day.

I think I’m about finished quilting my friend’s quilt, so I will make a label, bind and wash it. It’s definitely colorful! But, I love it!!!

Mary—the wind here has been horrible! There were warnings yesterday for the highway. Glad you weren’t out in it! Did you do any fun shopping in Mexico? You sound like you are eating well!

Irish—I could be forced to dress up for a trip to “Hamilton”! Be sure to give us a full report! That’s so exciting! I think a lazy day is in order for your big night!

Becca—I hate wind, too. It wears me out! Even listening to it keen outside the windows at night exhausts me. Glad you made it to quilt yesterday. A little at a time will build your stamina up again.

I forgot to tell you… the other night I stayed up to see the super blood wolf moon. It was definitely orange, and part of it was turning darker when I turned in for the night. As it rose, it was a huge, bright white orb and looked so close.

Dinner tonight… I’m making cabbage soup for me. DH will have red beans, rice and kielbasa. I’m putting some of the jalapeno kielbasa in my soup. It will taste good tonight!

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

No idea on dinner yet - still a few leftovers, that is unless Michael eats them this afternoon. We need a run to the store, so may pick up my latest favorite sandwich. It is big enough to split and share.

I have the blocks assembled for the log cabin. Also the borders are cut. Just need to double check with my color expert, snickering inserted, Sarah, to make sure I have which fabric she wanted where. She has already laid claim to this quilt.

Well I started this hours ago, just got back from running errands. Dinner is a recipe for a baked pork chop with crunchy panko bread crumbs from Cooks Country. I told Michael he was going to be the guinea pig for this recipe.

Mary - home is getting closer and closer. The storm window is open and we are getting another one on Wednesday. The Siskiyous can be nasty!

Becca - so delighted to see you doing much better and here with us! I love beef stew. My aunt made a recipe that was from President Eisenhower that I loved.

Enjoy!
