Supper club - thursday, Jan 17

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jan 17, 2019 1:23 am

Good morning!

We are camped in the middle of a saguaro cactus forest. It’s beautiful here! Temperature is a per 60s and we sat outside in the sunshine in T-shirts yesterday. This is such a nice place we are staying a second night in this campground and will drive to Yuma tomorrow. Temps there will be in low 70’s for most if the week. Bill has caught my cold. Yesterday he decided he is going to cancel his 4-day gun class in NV and I guess we are going to start for home same day my sis & dbil start back to CO -Jan 25. It’s 1200 miles from Yuma to home. We will probably do it in 4 days. 😁😁😁

We grilled burgers last night. Not sure what tonight holds for us. We will probably potluck something together.

Hi Maryz, glad you found warmer weather. Won't be long now and you will be back to your sewing room and your stash. :)
Safe travels and enjoy.
I tried out a new recipe yesterday. An easy dessert. I am making a dessert to share next week Jan 26, for our poker Walk event. My friend who usually does the treats is going away for about a week, so I am taking up the job.
This is a fresh apple dump cake. Wanted to try it out first before making for a group. Boy! Is it easy and yummy.
DH took me out for late breakfast yesterday, so our dessert was our supper time meal. Weird I know, but yummy. We had vanilla ice cream with it.
I can share recipe if you are interested.
Today, I am putting chicken in my Crock-Pot.

Good morning! I didn’t make it here yesterday. I started, but DH arrived for brunch… We went to Joplin again for my dental appointment. I’m now “fixed” and so happy! We had Chinese take out on the way home at “our” little picnic spot. For dinner last night, I celebrated with corn on the cob along with hamburger sliders. Tonight we will have leftover Chinese.

Mary—your campground sounds wonderful! My friend who will receive the quilt lives in Tucson. Safe travels for you! Know you are happy to be heading that way!

Vel—You had me at “easy”! I have no problem with your “supper”!!! I’m going to make your recipe soon. I printed it.

Jana—I am sure you enjoy working in the Batt Cave and having the little ones nearby, even if it means a password on the computer. I’m sure it works both ways as they get to spend time with you, too!

Today I’m going to start sandwiching and basting my quilt together. I pieced the back, and I need to carefully baste it so nothing shifts when I quilt it. It will be time consuming… but worth it.

Thank goodness for leftovers!!!
Bon appétit!
