Supper Club -sunday, Jan 7
Goid morning!
We had a nice day yesterday with the kids. Weather could have been a bit better but around The campfire, it wasn’t too bad. Aut was really sick with allergies. She never had allergies until she moved to Texas. I think she is allergic to Everything in this state. They brought Aaron’s sister, Jade, and her son Sebastian. We met Jade several times about the time Sebastian and his twin sister, Lily, were born. She is a delight and her son is also very interesting to be with. A good looking boy, very intelligent, and didn’t seem to mind being with a group of adults strangers at all. He took part in conversations and seemed knowledgeable on a lot of subjects without being a know it all teenager. We liked him a lot.
Today, after Bill’s gym class, we are going to Make one last big trip to Washatopia. Going to do sheets and everything today. Not much left to pack up - just firewood and two chairs. I will probably cut more blocks for FGV this afternoon. I have 32 done so far.
There was a wind storm at home night before last with 60 mph winds. A lot of PNW is out of power but it looks like our house is OK. I texted SUE and she didn’t get much wind up near the Canadian border, but she has a lot of rain and one river there is flooding. But she is OK .
Jana, I hate hearing of another fallen officer. And he was so young. I thank Aaron for all he does but especially for halting traffic for the procession.
Shirley Mae, I’m glad you are doing better. Keep up the good work!
Velda, how is your weather in Port A? We will be 1 or 2° warmer in Bastrop and a little less rain than here in G-town
Dinner tonight will be a hodgepodge. We have one serving of baked beans left over, a big bowl of potato salad, and one cooked burger as well as raw veggies and a few cookies. No starving here!

Good Monday Morning! I’m on Choc duty today. Ava’s dad stayed home from work today with the crud. I did my yoga practice and groaned every move. Yesterday I did two programs, and both of them were advanced, so I’m really feeling the workout today.
Besides walking dogs, I’ll be working on the comfort quilt for my friend. I love color and I love batiks! I’m going to have extra blocks, so more quilts… My favorite part of quilt making is pulling the colors and putting them together. I guess I like design better than construction. I think that’s why I have UFOs—I get started with color, then fall off in the construction process.
Mary—glad to hear things survived at your and Sue’s houses! I’m sure you feel your security cameras have paid for themselves in peace of mind!
Shirley Mae—sounds like you had a fun day of card making and packaging.
Irish—Glad you enjoyed the high tea. British “tea” is really a meal in itself. It sounds like a fun outing!
Dinner tonight—I made soup for me. It’s a HUGE crockpot, so I’ll freeze several containers. DH will have steak and baked potato.
Bon appétit! I’ll be in my sewing room!

Good morning
I have all 3 kids today, it's the end of Christmas break but Holly had an in service day so Jazmyne's grade was off today but Easton had school. He was late this morning because I'm still moving slow but his teachers say as long as he shows up then he's never late
takes stress off of me.
Mary, has there been any Vicky happenings? Sounds like you enjoyed your evening.
Chickie, stay away from the crud house, You don't want that for sure! My part I don't like it the cutting out and squaring up, those make my wrists hurt.
I'm going to go ahead and put a big pot of veggie beef soup on, the kids love it and then we'll eat it for supper because Dad and Frankie love it. And it'll have me on my foot less, I'm all for that!
It's been really cold here and we've been having much needed moisture.
Tina

Good morning!
The wind has slowed a bit and the sun is peeking out as well. Michael shoveled the driveway and walks. We will go get the little girls in about an hour. Kate has fire training this afternoon. Then after she is done and Aaron is off, we are heading to Costco to help them out. We are still helping, until Kate is working more hours for the department, which should be in February.
Dinner will be something that jumps into the basket while we are at Costco. They have some yummy soups that would be good!
So a few uglies and then the girls, so my day is pretty much planned.
Mary - safe travels and we know your time with Cindy and Don will be fun.
Chickie - stay away from the crud house - it is no fun!
Tina - you have a few helpers to get things for you, to stay off that foot. Sarah did that for her Grandma when Sarah was five. It was a big help to my mom.
Must vacuum before my rug rat, Lila gets here. She is becoming mobile, starting to crawl, which means looking at things from her level to keep her safe.
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: Supper Club -sunday, Jan 7
Good afternoon from dreary, chilly (weather people have lied, once again), SW. Pa.....Yesterday was gorgeous, almost spring like and was to continue, BUT.......
Mary, I was wondering how your home fared during that storm in PNW.....I had a call from Kathy and Donner Pass was to get 70 inches of snow....She and Tim had 2 of his grand sons staying with them and their parents were coming to pick them up and then couldn't leave to go back to Cal...The real problem, when they came, they had their youngest (monster) with them and within an hour, had practically destroyed the house...They stayed the night, left Sun. morning, drove 50 miles (took 5 hours) and then had to find a motel or sleep in the car...Almost had another case of the "Donner Party", lol.....
Sorry to hear about Aut's allergies....Can only imagine how miserable she feels...
How exciting to meet up with Cindy and DH...I have a feeling, Texas will never be the same or take a very long time to recover......You do know, there is very little in the bail money fund.....
Tina, have you seen those little scooters that you rest your knee on and use the other foot to push yourself around? Maybe that's what you need, would give your ankle/foot some relief....Better yet, a maid and you sit in your recliner with both feet propped nice and high with a cup of something good in your hand.....Veggie soup, my absolute favorite......
Chickie, I agree, stay away from the "crud house".....I think I'm like you in the quilt planning, although it does take me some time to decide on the colors...I had asked 2 of the grands for favorite color ideas for their Irish Chain and got no response so just yesterday, I picked up 2 different greens..Well, today, Stephan wrote and told me they like darks (burgundy, green or blues)...The green will not go to waste because I think I have a total of 5 quilts to work on....
Yesterday, I went with my sister and we were gone all day...We stopped at my Kevin's to deliver a package, then to JoAnn's, then stopped at one of her son's, for me to see their new house, then to Sears (she had a gift card to get rid of BUT, I'm the one who spent money), then we went to a Chinese Buffet (and no tummy problems, woohoo) and ended up visiting with her new Great Grand daughter....Needless to say, when I got home, I was beat but felt so good......
Along with Kathy's problem house guests, her DH Tim, who had had open heart surgery in June had been having chest pains so he had to have a stress test on Sat. They told him, the heart is fine but is scheduled for more testing today...He was on 1 med that stated, if you have pains, stop taking and he did and then the Doc said not to believe that and told him to double up....Tim and Kathy are now looking for a new cardio doc......Always something.......
Not much happening around here today....I also got my floss and I just might work on my embroidering...Was going to clean the basement but didn't take long to talk myself out of that....
As for my dinner, Tina's soup sounds so good, has me thinking.....
You all have a great day.....
Happy eating..........

A whole ton of stuff jumped in the basket, but the one that made it to the table was a chicken caesar salad.
