SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Dec 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Dec 28, 2018 2:24 am

Good morning!

Did you hear over on Sew-in, some of the gals are seeing Valentine Candy in the stores - even before Christmas! Right now the thought of more sweets kind of gags me. I'm hungry for a big crisp salad! Have to admit, our veggie intake suffers when we're trailer livin'.

Yesterday I spent almost all day on Vintage Christmas - got 7 more blocks finished. 19 to go. I think I'll make a stop at the LQS down the road sometime in the next few days and see what they have for sashing and borders. We also got some of our big storage areas cleaned and organized and repacked for home-going. And I'm excited to be saying that! I'm so ready to be home. But when we're down here for the holidays, we like to stay for Autumn's birthday, too. We leave Georgetown 2 weeks from today. Oh, wait - let me add some exclamation points and smiley faces to that. !!! :o) ;oD

CHICKIE - All that mopping is workout enough, I would think! lol! Glad to hear you are improving, even if only slightly. and yes, I did thank Santa for including the opportunity to visit a new quilt shop with is gift. However, it was way down in Austin (30 miles) and we had to go through a warren of narrow, busy streets to get to it. It was more of a Bernina shop than fabric, but they did have one corner of the store devoted to fabrics and some nice stuff on clearance!

JANA - a nice present - new phone. And you can always get a red cover for it. Funny, I always associated you with the color of red. I have 'assigned' colors to most people I know. Chickie is sunflower gold, Becca is medium blue, Tina is purple, and Irish, of course, is green. Velda is golden brown and I am turquoise. I often wonder how close I am to their 'correct' colors. and no, I don't know what criteria would term them 'correct'. Just feelings, I guess.

BECCA - So Christmas is all over with at your house. Here, too, though at home we still have outdoor Christmas lights on timers and a wreath on the door if it hasn't blown away. What is your son's name? Sometimes I get confused, you have so many family members! lol!

IRISH - welcome home!! We missed you! And sounds like Kelly and Baby Girl did, too! Not to mention Jake! And your Nick is a prince! But then you knew that, didn't you. Glad to hear Gin is feeling better. Didn't you say the driver was 'impaired"? I wish Gin would press charges. Sounds like she is a habitual drinker/driver. If she presses charges maybe she'll learn something, or at least get taken off the road for a while. It might save someone else from serious injury or even death. It really is the right thing to do, though, she may not have to. This driver committed a crime = a few of them by all accounts - and the police will have some say there. Such happy eagle news! Now we can look forward to your reports. I suppose we could all go the cams ourselves, but it's more fun to 'hear' it from you!

TINA - I was happy to hear that your treatment for your lymphedema was effective. Will you keep getting them? Does insurance cover this? How goes the Saga of the Sour Ham?

Bill decided last night to take supper into his own hands. He made breakfast - eggs, sausages, and hashbrowns with lots of onions and peppers. He did all the cooking on his outdoor stove. Well, I made the eggs, but he did everything else, including the prep work. Lots of sausage links left over so I think we'll have spaghetti tonite and put chopped links into the sauce. I almost can't wait for supper!

Good morning everyone,A rainy night & day here.Lots of flooding in areas. So Glad it’s not snow.

Just finished Bathroom cleaning.Wont do Floors due to weather. Will chase the dust bunnies away. That reminds me. Tuesday CA chased the deers away.next day I chased turkeys, then yesterday it was deers again.Plus the squirrels are digging everywhere. We had traps set & they eat the peanuts & the trap didn’t go off. They are smart.
Living in the woods you see lots of wildlife.I love them unless they tear up property.

Irish Welcome Home.I agree with Maryz.Charges need to be made so she won’t hit someone else. Our DGS told us yesterday he got a 911 call.A lady was hit by a drunk driver & he kept on going but they caught him.She was 79.But she lived but is in bad shape.I too love the eagle report.

Maryz Our DS That lives with us isMarty. Our other DS is Alex.Hes the oldest. We do havea big family. The hit & run happened inWA.

I must get going & finish the cleaning. We are having pot pies Chicken. And Cole slaw. Becca

Good morning!

Not much new here. Need to post the checkbook to Quicken and straighten up the Batt Cave. And to see if I can turn on my phone. LOL! I passworded it and now to see if I can remember it! I ordered a case for it - the one my niece said to get - a Unicorn Beetle case, name of company, it is just white and the phone is silver. The case has gorilla glass and is shaped to cushion a drop without breaking the glass. It will be here on the 3rd. They don't make any red for this phone.

Michael wants to start taking down Christmas. So I will start with all the quilty stuff. They pack away in my sleigh. My sleigh is big enough to hold my Gracie and Lila. It is about 3 feet long, 2 feet tall and 18 inches wide. Found it at Costco a few years ago.

Dinner - a chicken burrito bake. Found the recipe on Pinterest and will make it, only half size, as not to have leftovers until next Christmas! It called for beef, but I will use chicken instead.

I have a weight goal in mind and hope to reach that step. A little at a time. On top of what I lost when we moved here, 7 years ago, so far it all totals 71 pounds. And so far it has stayed off.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from a very dreary but not frigid, SW. Pa....
Right off the bat, I have to tell you how dingy I am...Of course I'm blaming this on "jet lag", (2 1/2 hours on a plane, yep)...But, Kevin and Cindy's youngest Ds is getting engaged...Cindy had told me this big secret, going to happen Friday night! He had planned a huge evening in Pittsburgh and ending it at the Point and the ring...All day yesterday, I was so excited, last night, I kept waiting for the phone to ring, kept looking on FaceBook for a picture and this morning, even called to find out how it went! Darn, I was a day early...And then to add to the dinginess, I put on my Notre Dame shirt and kept thinking about the game and that too isn't until tomorrow night......That jet lag will get you every time!

Mary, I agree with you and the others about, maybe not pressing charges but something should be done....I don't know if the girl was impaired but she was probably on her cell phone...I also have an idea, when the family gets wind of this, something will be done..I'm going to call later and hear what her daughter had to say when she saw Gin.....
And of course my Nick is a prince...They honestly don't make too many like him any more....They were here for dinner last night, loved the Shoofly cake...Nick stayed for awhile and then he was going to visit with his mother for awhile....As nasty as his mother was, I'm glad he's kind of put it behind him and still visits with her....And said, he'll be back also has a few recipes up his sleeve....I really am blessed with my family......

Jana, Wow, good for you and the weight loss, that's wonderful....Are you doing it on your own or following a diet?..And all the cooking you do, Wow.....The only time I drop any pounds is when my nasty problem flares up and boy I sure wouldn't wish that on anyone, lol....

Becca, sounds like you have your hands full just chasing the critters out of the yard...I think most of mine are hibernating but I really do feel sorry for the birds and the deer....I even feel bad for the dust bunnies and tend to just let them alone, lol....Around here, the only decorations I need to put away are the little ceramic tree and Jim's stocking...
I told Terry, since they have this huge house now, they should take my big tree and use it in their family room and then go through my ornaments and take what they want...We'll see!

Chickie, was thinking about you when I saw the weather channel, hoping the nasty wasn't headed your way...I have a feeling, we'll be back to winter any day....But, glad to hear you're feeling better...Hoping you start off the new year all back to normal....

Tina, was I seeing things or did you post on FB that you had snow? Well, if you do, please keep it or send it west!...I'm sure we'll get our share....Hope you also start the new year feeling good, all back to normal.....

And speaking of new year, it's going to be a good one, feel it in my bones......

For dinner, I'm having a "mustgo" day...Not sure what I might find in the fridge that isn't green but I won't starve....

You all have a great day.....

Happy eating...........

Eagle update: the 2 little Bobble heads are going to be a talon full for this pair...Already they are giving Harriet fits but so darn cute....

But on a very sad note, there is a nest in northern Florida, Romeo and Juliet, been there for years...Well, Juliet laid 2 eggs and then went missing...Romeo has been trying to take care, brooding etc. and just as one egg hatched, another young eagle flew into the nest and took the eaglet...Now, Romeo has more or less been forced to give up...They are still hoping Juliet is found and comes home but at this late date, they feel, she's probably dead....So sad!

OK - are there prayers for stupidity? I passworded my new phone and now I can't open it with what I thought was the password. So I called Matt and he will come and see if he can get it unlocked, and if not, we will take it back to the T-Mobile store and pray they can factory Reset everything - I won't lose anything as I was just starting to set it up - then on top of that I reset my gmail account as I was trying to setup this phone - Michael was able to recover the gmail for me - so first rule of anything that is technology driven - DON"T LET ME TOUCH IT! If the store can't reset the password - we are out a huge chunk of money for the phone! Sheesh - Am I dumb!!!!!

Hi everyone! :)
The ham was returned and I got my money back. After I went and got a couple things I had to pass by customer service, it was stinky ham smell up there LOL
Yeppers we got snow! Yay! It melted by 10 though. It started coming down again at about 2:30 but didn't stick. They say we're to get the most in the state, it better get busy it there then LOL
We're fixing to go listen to my little brother play at the winery, this band we haven't ever heard, he's in about 5 or 7 or something like that. They have sandwiches for sale there so that'll be supper.

Ok - Matt told me that I could not have screwed up this phone anymore than I did, but he was able to fix it. Took him a little while, a long bit of time. So he set it up for me with very simple settings for the time starting. He also told me that he will come and fix it for me anytime I goof it up again. Such a good son!

I will learn how to text too - I will get Ethan to teach me that! He grabs his Mom's phone and texts my Sandee all the time! He is rather good at the voice texting!

Good night - I am not in tears as I was earlier,

Jana
