Good morning!

Yesterday was so pretty, but today will be a different story. Cool, cloudy, breezy, and showery. But we are planning to hang colored lights in our picnic shelter anyway. Bill was busy yesterday doing errands, then helping friend, David, do some work on his trailer's underneath. Then he helped another neighbor with a big chore. So while he did all that - took almost all day - I got to sew! I'm still working on the blocks for my Gypsy Dancer II. But I'm anxious to start on Vintage Christmas now that I have the book and some fabrics. I may go back to the LQS for a wee bit of the green background fabric. I have to go through everything I brought from home and what I purchased the other day so see if I need anything.

VELDA - life is short. I say go for the color streak in your hair! Your hair is purrfect for it! and it's only hair. It will grow out. Or try the temporary color first and see what you think. It's FUN! I'm going to go for it next time I'm in a beauty shop. Just trying to decide on color. Chickie has seen me and she thinks blue. I'm a blue/green/purple kind of purrson . . .

BECCA - yay for miracles!! I know your dear DH will be tired out at the end of the Thanksgiving week, and therefore, you, too, but I'm suspecting it will be a good tired. You can rest up the week after. I think it will do you both good to have a change of scenery!

CHICKIE - you got a LOT done while you were out the other day. And another trip to Joplin on tuesday? Maybe you can fit in another thrift outing to find sweaters to go with those great jean bargains!

JANA - God works in mysterious ways - and you got out of doing drapery grommets! Yay, God!!

IRISH - you are probably on baby eagle watch. Agent E-1. Report in when there is activity, please.

My pizza rolls turned out pretty good but I made too many. Had no idea how many folks were coming so I made 36. There were only 11. Brought home enough for Bill to snack on! My neighbor at home (Lori, not Vicki!) and I were texting and trying to think up other fillings for this recipe: Italian, Mexican, broccoli & cheddar, cinnamon & raisin with frosting, cream cheese, cranberry, walnut. Maple pecan. Chicken and Sweet Baby Rays' BBQ sauce, breakfast foods. all with refrigerated crescent rolls!

This recreation area has two campgrounds, one on each side of the lake. We can see the other cg from here, but it's about a 7 mile drive around. We know some folks in the other cg and they have invited us out for Mexican food tonite. So no cooking AGAIN! How lucky can I get??

Hope you get lucky tonite, too! With supper or whatever . . . .

Good morning! :)
I had a busy day yesterday and was so tired I was in bed and asleep by about 9:45, I usually go to bed at 11 But hardly ever go to sleep till 11:30-12! I only slept till 4 but it was a straight 6+hours of sleep, I never wiggled! I got up this morning and started making pecan Poppyseed rolls, they freeze well and it'll give me some to have out on thanksgiving day if anyone shows up at breakfast time.
Mary, I'm gonna make your pizza crescents for Thanksgiving too, along with about 5 other things for people to snack on. We try to not starve everyone LOL
We visited Kevin, Maria and Matthew for about 2 hours yesterday. We went to Cruces and Kevin asked if he could borrow our chainsaw so it was a good excuse to go get some Matthew kisses and hugs :)
We're just going to be doing some cleaning to get ready for Thanksgiving, my major cleaning will be my sewing room, it's a disaster!! I'll be baking something everyday and Tuesday I'll start the actual food.
Tonight might be tacos, something simple and fast.
Tina

Good morning! Yesterday made it to 60 here, but late afternoon the temperatures started falling as the north wind blew in… We may make it to 35 today. It’s 30 now with a 23 wind chill index. I think I’ll try to stay in today and feed the washer and dryer as I try to get to my sewing machine.

We had a fun outing last night, and best of all… leftovers! No cooking tonight!

Velda and Mary—I have always loved colored hair! I used to go different Lady Clairol blonde colors, and I’ve been a brunette as well as a redhead. If I was younger… I’d have lots of fun colors! I’m still loving my pink streak and definitely will go permanent color. Go for the temporary color and try several!

Tuesday is Pittsburg, not Joplin. Thankfully, DD only lives 50 miles away rather than 80. I may try to fit in a Salvation Army visit—good thinking! I need to drop by Mom’s and get DGD’s birthday card, and I promised her I’d bring her back a chicken dinner for her supper. I’ll bring some for DH as well.

Mary—I like your party pals! You are lucky to get out of cooking! Your pizza rolls sound delicious!

Tina—your rolls must be absolutely marvelous! Is it a pecan/poppyseed filling like cinnamon rolls? Keep loving on that little guy!!! They grow up all too soon!

Irish, Jana, Becca, Pam… know you’re out there and will visit as soon as I hit my sewing room! Have a great afternoon, and stay warm! It looks like it could snow here, but tomorrow should be warmer.

Bon appétit!

Agent E-1 reporting in from, now a dreary, chilly, SW. Pa...We did have sun a few minutes ago but off he went, probably to visit with Becca.....

And speaking of Becca, my heavens, you really do have an exciting week coming up, don't you? As Mary said, it will be a tiring time but an "oh so good" kind of tire...Nothing better than being with family.....

Mary, you sound like you're all settled in and hopefully, enjoy some warmer temps...I know it's still early but have you had any kitten/cat visitors? You know, one or 2 that might like to travel back to Gig Harbor??? Our shelters have really become crowded but happy to say, there have been lots of adoptions, lots of happy fur babies and happy people....ALL your snacks sound yummy....I think my favorite meals are snacks, lol....

Chickie, in my younger year, I also tried a few colors from Lady Clairol...I never seemed to get the same shade but that was OK...Then when I quit working, I got lazy and pleasantly surprised, ended up with hair exactly like my Mom's...My sister who is younger has gorgeous snow white hair and we're not sure where that came from, lol... Every time I see you post, Pittsburg, I think you're in my neighborhood but mine has an "h" on the end of it.....

Not much happening in my little neighborhood, nice and peaceful...Terry and his wife are busy trying to get little things packed and moved before the big move...Terry sent me a picture of Scout, spread out on the living room floor, all tuckered out from the packing.....And Kathy finally heard from her DH who is in Alaska hunting...Said, he, he brother and another guy had gotten 9 deer...She's not too crazy about venison but is hoping, he brings home fish...
The highlight of the weekend was the big Notre Dame win yesterday...I know Jim had a hand in it...Bad thing, our Pens lost again and now are in the basement....But, they'll rebound, I'm sure.....

With the eagles, we're waiting for the 2nd egg which, knowing Harriet's history, should be tomorrow..And normally, she only lays 2 but you just never know...Today, the egg was uncovered quite a bit and this is their way of delaying the hatch to be closer to the 2nd egg...Even a day or 2 makes a big difference in the hatching and "fighting" for food...If that 1st hatch is too big, the 2nd can't compete for food and might not survive...You know, survival of the fittest!

As for dinner, nothing in mind, yet.....Could be another poached egg night......

You all have a great rest of the day....

Happy eating...................

Hi everyone. I know I am late again. After church and lunch, it turned so gloomy. Felt like a nap! Then the rain started. It was so noisy and windy, no sleep! So I got up and swept the floors and vacuumed. Now I am hand sewing. I just hate a gloomy day!
As for my hair.. nope..no color streaks for me. I will just keep my plain white hair. LOL
Dinner tonight is turkey burgers. I will fix a salad, pork n beans, and hash brown patties. It's just simple and easy.
