SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 16
Good morning!
Today is Autumn day! Yay!! We're taking brunch food and going to see my girl! I haven't seen her in such a long time. We're taking quiche, hashbrowns, bacon, and strawberries. I'm also taking the turkey breast I bought for TG dinner so she can start it cooking day of. I need to make a LISt of all the things to take today! lol!
Yesterday I dropped off at the LQS here in town while Bill ran a hardware errand. And he gave me his credit card! And I burnt it up! lol! They had vintage Christmas fabrics and that's exactly what I needed for my Lori Holt Vintage Christmas quilt. I believe my book was mailed to Autumn so I'll finally get to see it today.
JANA - I hope your cousin is OK and her house, too. Last count I heard was 56 lives lost and more than 100 missing. I hope they got out and are in shelters somewhere, not realizing they are "missing".
BECCA - I've never had, or heard of, a lemon coconut cream pie. Now that HAS to be over the top delicious!
TINA - when we need extra chairs, and the office and sewing room chairs are already at the table, we bring in the lawn chairs! Though I suggest adirondack chairs not be used. lol! And little kids love to sit on the floor to eat.
IRISH - you say you had to 'run out for a heart test' almost like you had to stop at Wally World to pick up bread! Hope all is well. not that we worry or anything . . . . Yes, in Alaska, you don't sleep out in tents for the bears. Well, some people do. We've seen them. But not ME!!
CHICKIE - I'm still loving your hair!!
As for supper tonite, there may be leftover quiche. There may not. If Aut likes it, we'll leave it with her. We have cooked chicken in the fridge so we'll have that with noodles, ala pesto!
and you?

Good morning!
Mary - yippee, Autumn is here - in Texas. We skipped autumn, went straught to winter. I hope your book is OK. I keep meaning to head over to my LQS and pick one up for me. I have her Christmas sew along ready to make - it is from last year. My LQS, Thimbles and Threads has her for special events all the time, since she lives right here next to me.
Still no voice. Driving me nuts I can't answer the phone, make Michael hear me or even yell at the TV for something stupid! LOL!
Sarah is coming to sew, or should I say, she is coming for me to sew for her. She wants to get the drapes made for her dining room. I will get roped into doing them. So while I am doing that, she will load my dessert quilt on the LA. So much easier now with my red snappers. I have all the pieces parts ready to finish that quilt and almost have one table runner quilted. It will be done today and start the hext one. Then I will finally make Christmas stockings for Michael and me.
Dinner - a nice hot bowl of tomato doup, with goldfish, and a fancy grilled cheese sandwuch. By fancy, it has cheese on the inside as well as cheese on the outside. I use jack and american for the inside and parm for the outside. The parm toasts up nicely and gives a hit of crunch.
Enjoy!
Jana, aka Arial, still no voice.
Oh yes, heard from Daniel, he is fine and has some adventures to tell me.

Good morning! We are going for 58 today! Heat wave! Back to 40s tomorrow… We have rollercoaster weather here. When in doubt… layers and a coat and a jacket in reserve…
Thanks for giving me your thumbs up on my hair. It’s a temporary color this time, but I’m thinking maybe permanent next time… It was the lift I needed from the senior doldrums I was falling into.
Mary—7 blocks already sewn on first day! You will have that quilt finished in a week! Love the idea of the potholder pressing mat! I’m thinking that would be a fun quilter gift!
Irish—I love that I look like your friend! I wish I had enough hair to spike it! Let’s stay “girls”!!!
Becca—wish we had a generator for “just in case”. Our local power company co-operative is super quick to restore power when they have outages. Still… there’s always that BIG storm… We have no backup heat and are total electric. It’s my choice; I wanted nothing to do with FIRE when we built this house.
Tina—I think coconut cream is probably DH’s favorite, although I haven’t seen him pass many pies without enjoying them. Hope your pies yesterday were a huge success for Holly’s class! Does she appreciate all the work you did/do for her? I’ve used lawn chairs in the house. Now I have some wooden folding chairs from an auction. Little ones love a picnic on a quilt on the floor! I’ve had a lot of adult picnics on the floor because I didn’t have seating. Years later Martha Stewart had a whole spread of HER picnics on quilts in front of the fireplace! I did it FIRST!!! LOL!
Jana—DH would love if I lost my voice. LOL!!! I just heard over 600 people missing now in the fires. It makes me so sad. The fires definitely make me glad I’m not still in CA, and I guess the earthquakes, too. I was never in the really bad ones. We have fracking-caused earthquakes here now. I recognized them, although most people didn’t. I have to start making runners here! That totally sounds like my DD—she comes for sewing time which is me sewing for her, too. Do you “butter” the outside of your grilled cheese with mayo? It really makes a nice crust. I always do mine inside and out with mayo, but DH prefers butter. I must try the parm!
Becca—a new hearing aid! The world will be shouting at you now. The lemon coconut cream pie sounds awesome! I made my lemon meringue pie and added crushed pineapple to the filling and had one of late DH’s friends think I should patent it. He was always requesting it. It does sound like a whirlwind at your house! Sounds like your DSs are going to have quite an adventure and an awesome mission trip. I hope you can relax today!
The Hunters loved brunch yesterday. I think they are all on the plane back to Florida today. I’m going to cut borders for my DD’s throw and try to get them put on today. My plans are always subject to interruptions beyond my control…
Leftover quiche sounds delicious! I need to make some to have leftovers. I think I can find something for tonight… maybe BBQ sandwiches, or steak sandwiches.
Bon appétit!

I have voice! Albeit, a frog sounds better, but at least it is louder than a whisper.
Chickie - yes, I do use mayo instead of butter on the outside of my bread. I use it too, to attach the parm to the outside.
Yes, the missing count is over 600 and those lost is at 63, but I am sure it will go higher. So sad.

Good late afternoon from a very cold, very nasty, snowy, dreary, SW. Pa.....Yep, all of the above!
BUT, THE BIG NEWS! We have an egg....Harriet laid her 1st of the season at 2:37 this afternoon....Now we wait for that 2nd and maybe 3rd....These eagles are amazing creatures......
Mary, How exciting to be with your girl.....I imagine there was an over abundance of hugs and smooches......I had just talked to my girl and she so wants to be back east with her girls...And to make her more lonely, Tim won't be back from his trip until Thursday morning...Enjoy every minute you have with Autumn......My "heart test" was checking on the valve that might need replaced (hopefully, not too soon)...BUT, I haven't heard from the doctor today, so that's a good sign, right???? But, I'm not going to worry about it.....
Chickie, Darn, I know what you mean about layering...I finally got out the winter coat and threw it in the car (just in case) and ended up wearing it....It really did get nasty yesterday and this morning, lots of power lines down and thousands of people without power....The kids all tease me about having a Subaru and being able to go in the snow...Well, when it snows, this gal stays home and Ruby will stay nice and warm in the garage.....I make sure Jake and the birds are taken care of and that's the extent of me going out in the snow....
You really would love my friend, she is an animal lover, known for saving many, many fur babies....
Becca, Time to unwind from your busy day, yesterday...But, I'll bet it was filled with so much happiness...With this kind of weather, I think your decision to get the generator is a good one...Kathy was just saying, I should think about maybe getting a small one, just to be safe....Stay warm and be careful when you go out......
Haven't done a lot but did get some sewing done and also part of the laundry...Tomorrow, I'll strip my bed and finish...Normally, the 1st snow of the year is so pretty but not this year...this snow is down right ugly and very messy...
Have no clue as to dinner....Had a very late lunch so maybe a bowl of cereal.......Nothing seems to sound good any more.....
You all have a good rest of the day.....
Happy eating................

Hi everyone!
What a day we had, holiday grocery shopping! Preston went with us in the morning and then we had him and Easton after 11:30 and off to Wal-Mart for needed things there! These boys love to shop and let the whole store know that things look yummy! I laugh so much, it's great! Too bad cameras aren't rolling, it would make perfect commercials
Thank you all for the seating suggestions but I mentioned to Dad about going to see if we could find some folding chairs and he has some and they're stored in his spare bathrooms tub, he said they're like brand new and he doesn't have a use for them so we just gotta pick them up
The little kids all have their chairs or highchairs already, so they're all good. I have plenty of tables already so I'm set now
My legs aren't being nice today for some reason.
We had chicken strips and salad for supper and I've already cleaned the kitchen
