Good morning!

Still traveling. Hit a few tiny snowflakes yesterday but nothing stuck. Just a passing cloud, I think. Most of the sky was blue -ish. But we are 23’ this morning. Brrr!

Tina, great news about Frankie getting a job! That will certainly help with the finances. Is it full or part time? Any bennies? When does he start? We are on our way! We hope to be in late Sunday, but with weather uncertainties chasing us, Monday is possible. Will keep you posted.

Chickie, a birthday shopping trip sounds fun!! I hope you made it worth while! My local LQS used to give birthday discount-half your age in percentage off total of one shopping trip during the month of your birthday. Now it has changed hands three times and they have a “birthday club” that you buy into. And depending on the level you Buy in at you get 10%, 15%, 20% of everything you buy. And it’s about $90-$120 per year to buy in. I’ve skipped that!

Becca, what a family-sized Thanksgiving party it will be! I thought everyone was coming to your house and bringing the food. Is it going to be somewhere else? How far away from you is that?

Irish, you and the GG’s to get out and about a lot! Social butterflies. What fun for you all! Have you set a date for your first Florida trip yet To go see Virginia?

Jana, what’s going on at your house today?

I received a PM from Linda. She has some family issues she has been dealing with and has little to no Internet access. She hopes to be back at the table one day soon.

Tonight we are aiming to land at a casino RV park near Santa Fe..So we might eat in the restaurant. If not, we will just have eggs and toast. We have things in the freezer to thaw but after a day of traveling We barely feel like eating, let alone cooking.

Hello everyone,we are having a cloudy drizzle day but then it cleared but now dark again. The cold rolls in tonight.

Maryz They are all coming here & bringing all the food.I still do a cake ,my applesauce which they all love & dressing just bec I know they all love it.We have a ton leftover.Alex lives 2 hrs away but I see CA isn’t up to traveling that distance.I was in hopes buts its not worth seeing him suffer more. And being on oxygen & nebulizing Too makes it rough on him.So it will be here.

Tina How wonderful that DH found a job.Insurance can kill you.Ridiculious & then they cover only what they choose.
Enjoy Maryz & Bills visit.

Linda Sure hope things get better for you.

It’s a gray day so been getting everything ready for the big freeze putting all baskets away & bringing in ones I keep. The leaves are coming Down with the rain.
For dinner it’s black beans over a bed of rice with scallions on top. Becca

Good morning!

Happening at my house, we are on fire watch. Daniel was called out with his strike team to that big fire in Northern California. The Camp Fire. He was on a training yesterday and from the training they saw the plume of smoke as the fire started. They all knew it would be bad. Especially as all the trainers were called out in the middle of training. Daniel's team was sent out late last night and deployed to the Chico area. We are following the fire on the CalFire official website. The site pinpoints more accurately where the fire is. Daniel lives near, but not that near to the fire area. If you remember the possible dam collapse of a year or so ago, the fire is in that area. Daniel was involved with a hospital evac and they had some incident happen, but I don't know all the details, execpt that Daniel is fine. Prayers for all are greatly appreciated.

I have Ethan for a time. Stu called yesterday and told Sarah that he was hungry. He ran out of food and money before month! We met him halfway between school in a town named Spanish Fork at the Costco. Sarah restocked his food supply. He is good until Chtistmas break. Grandma now knows what he is getting for a Christmas present! Food!

Dinner here is a toss up between some yummy italian meatballs in sauce that I tasted at Costco, or Korean BBQ beef over fried rice. We shall see......

Time to go,

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from the cold prairie! I know it’s not as cold as it is going to be later, but… And, we got SNOW yesterday afternoon and evening! That’s not unheard of but it’s unusual. The hunters from Florida are here and got quite a surprise. One said it was only the second time he’d ever seen snow.

The guys took us out for dinner last night, and we had a good time. I’ll be making brunch for the lot of them next week when two more hunters arrive. They love my Dutch Baby pancakes! One of the hunters owns a restaurant in Ft. Myers, but he requests my Dutch Babies.

Pam—I’ll try just the apple cider vinegar. I always like hearing what you are eating!

Jana—I saw that about the Camp fire and now Malibu. Those poor people! So glad Daniel is safe! I know you are praying constantly for his safety.

Becca—I haven’t even thought about Thanksgiving. I’m hoping that one of the DDILs will have it again at their house. We are getting so big with all the weddings… Know it’s difficult for you to travel. Our farthest son is only about 3 miles. I do love beans and rice!!!

Tina—that’s great that Frankie has a job! I know you will miss his help with the boys, but you will all appreciate the income. Sometimes guys need to ease into retirement, too. And, Mary and Bill will be there soon…

Linda—hope everything is resolved soon with good outcomes! Thinking of you…

Mary—I did well for my birthday… it was a pretty light bill, but I got what I needed/wanted and 15% off. That half your age discount would sure be nice!!! LOL! I definitely wouldn’t “buy in” at those prices! I wanted some blenders to go with some fabric I had, and I found a couple of patterns I really liked . I also got a Frixon pen to use for marking. Have fun rolling on down the road! I vote for out to eat!

Speaking of out to eat… we have lots of leftover steak and baked potatoes from going out last night. I’ll be making some baked potato soup as well as fajitas, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, veggie soup… It was a yummy evening and will continue for several more meals.

DH had to go to town to winterize an empty unit, and I’m heading for my sewing room. This evening I’ll be going to a wedding shower for future granddaughter in law. I hope she likes the runner and place mats I made for her. She’s such a sweetie; I’m sure she will.

Enjoy today!

Good morning :)
Mary, safe travels! Everywhere I looked this morning on Facebook;family and friends, they all had at least dusting of snow! Our temps are dropping pretty fast!
Becca, sounds like your Thanksgiving is going to be super!
Jana, those fires are scary, prayers for all.
Frankie's job is part time/full time, I think he can work as much as he wants. No benefits but he doesn't need any, we already have everything from his retirement so that's all taken care of. I think he starts Monday or Tuesday.
I just put a big pot of soup on, Easton was wanting soup yesterday but I didn't think to make any so he was sad.....he should be happy today :) it might be supper too.
I've been doing laundry today, almost finished.

I had a Buffalo, NY special Paula's Donut for breakfast. I have gone low on my points, since then, to stay in budget. Supper was a sampling of three different types of fresh apple for my honey and me. My favorite was honey crisp, then gala, then McIntosh. Not that any of them were bad. I also did some simple boneless pork ribs. Not sure what else we will have. Maybe fresh carrots.
