Good morning

32° this morning and clear. Going to a high of 50°. Yesterday was beyond perfect for a November day in any part of the country. 60’ and sunny. My sister and I had a great time together while the guys did a few errands and then watched an action movie in the afternoon. We went out to dinner-Italian-and we all made an early night of it by 7 PM. Bill and I came back to our trailer, watched dancing with the stars, and went to bed. Today, we’re going to get up and do it all over again only adding one more sister to the mix.

Unless somebody objects, I’m going to put pinto beans and ham in the crockpot for tonight. I already have Dry ingredients for corn bread together in a Ziploc so I just need to add the moist ingredients. Voila’! Supper! Unfortunately while gathering all my ingredients, I realized I left my onions and fresh garlic at home in my produce basket on the kitchen counter. That will be fun to come home to in Feb. NOT! ! I guess I need to text my good neighbor, Lori, and tell her she can have them when she comes to water plants.

I’m still using my phone to post. So this will be short and sweet. Or should I say savory? What’s happening at your house tonight?

I noticed Irish had posted this in yesterday's thread, so I copied it and put it here. I do that all the time--read the day before's post then put my new one there...:

Good afternoon from breezy, sometimes dreary, sometimes slightly sunny, SW. Pa...Around here you don't go by what a weather person tells you, you kind of go with what's happening at that moment....

Mary, you're really getting around...Sorry to hear your DS isn't feeling up to par...I've never had hummingbird cake but just hearing the name kind of stopped me from tasting..I kept thinking of all those little hummingbirds that jumped into the batter, (gross I know)....And let me tell you, my smoocher is worn out, oh my what a weekend!

Chickie, I can imagine how pleased your Mom was..How super that so many out of towners came for the party, that's great! Shows how much your Mom is loved.....Oh how well I remember those squishy "leaves"....Enjoy your pizza.....

Becca, sounds like you've had a busy morning...Time for you to sit down and put the feet up....Lasagna always sounds good to me although, I have to take mine in very small portions any more, but sure do love it!

Jana, I'd say, Matt had very good training...Taking care of 5 is a job and I'm sure he felt good knowing you'd be right there if he needed help...

My weekend was great even though I had to make that trip to the airport during rush hour, lol...But, just having Kathy in the house was good...She sat on the living room floor and wrapped all her Christmas presents, while chatting away and having a glass of wine...We did get to early breakfast with a bunch of the family and then went to Cari's...AND of course baby Lena is absolutely perfect in every way...We went to Cari's inlaws for dinner and pictures and when we got back to Cari's, Kathy told her and Matt to go to bed, she was on Lena duty...We laughed because it was the 1st night these 2 had slept through in 4 weeks...But, Lena did very well, doesn't cry, makes funny noises when it's time to eat...What a joy to be around Cari and Matt, just to watch and feel the love between the 2 of them and now with this little one, makes a person feel so good...This is the way it should be for everyone.....
Took my sister and I 4 hours driving home through rain, fog and just nasty weather but we made it, very tired but we made it....She was working at the polls today and I had an early cardiologist appointment...Then I went to the Library and then voted on the way home....Not much is going to get done around here, hopefully another cup of tea and maybe I'll get to the sewing room, maybe....
As for dinner, I haven't a clue...Don't have any chips but I do have eggs.........

You all have a great day.......

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon! We are sunny today and almost 60 degrees! I’m going to love it while we have it, as it changes so quickly. Since this was voting day, and the polling place is the community center there was no geezer coffee. I didn’t get to do my yoga, but the hooligans and I were out early and walked in 40-degree weather to let Choc out and feed her breakfast to her. Came home and fixed coffee and breakfast. We went and voted, picked up the mail, and I rode to town with DH. He had a doctor appointment, and he dropped me at Mom’s. She was still reveling in her birthday. My BIL had brought photos of the whole party day and put them on her electronic frame, and we watched them rotate through and looked at her many cards. I may have gotten through 1/5 of them! I’ll go in and have lunch with her on Saturday and look at some more of the cards.

She liked the placemat, table topper and napkin I made. I took her a Christmas place mat and napkin with me today. It’s like the ones I did for the wedding shower (must remember to go Thursday evening!).

EEK, Mary—I’m so not ready for freezing! I forget you are in Colorado, so that’s probably normal. You had a purrfect dinner—no cooking! Have fun with your sisters!!! Oops on your produce! Those onions might be interesting to come home to, but the garlic would probably be just dried and maybe sprouted. Of course, you might have an onion crop to plant if that’s all that happened to them…

Irish—sounds like you had a most wonderful weekend!!! So thrilled you got to love on that little bitty baby! How fun that Kathy did Baby Lena duty, and that she is such a good baby. I felt the love and fun just reading your post. Those rush-hour traffic drives are tedious. Glad your sis was with you through the nasty weather! It’s always nice to have company along!

When we came home from town, the Hooligans and I again walked to take care of Choc as well as Ava. Ava went with us to Choc’s, and she really enjoyed the run and exploring as well as the jerky treats. She’s so fast, she snagged Odie’s treat as well as her own! We will walk Choc again this evening, then I’ll drive over for the late night outing.

I’m still eating pizza here. I’m going to have to find something for DH to eat for dinner. Actually, I might try to fix something. I ate pizza today for breakfast and lunch. I might turn into a dough ball with veggies and pepperoni sprouts! We still have some chocolate cake for afters.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon!

Just got back home after watching El's webinar and then a huge run of errands - dropping off packages, mailing BD cards, and dropping off our ballots. We drop them at City Hall. Utah is a vote by mail state and the mail is often unrealiable, so we take them to the drop off box to make sure they are in the system. Over 50 percent of ballots have already been returned by mail. Some of the races are quite nasty - my congressional district is one of them and we wanted to make sure our vote got in. One candidate doesn't even live in the district, but by some obscure rule, can run here. Darn carpetbaggers! LOL!

Finally got around, after fussing and shedding a few tears and a few choice words at my computer, got the family pictures we had done, loaded and ordered the prints from Costco. They will be ready a little later this afternoon. DH took pity on me and wanted to make sure that the computer didn't end up through the window and got the file with the pictures in it where I could use it. When I get them back, it will be a total rearrange of the family wall upstairs. We had a place for all the grands, their family pictures and us. But then, we added a few more grands and a Daniel family, so the arrangement will have to be changed. I have 26 pictures to get up there. Good that it is a big wall space!

Sarah is coming to trim the rose bush back into submission and I will get her tohelp with the pictures. I get all my frames at Costco - they all match and didn't break the bank!

Dinner - leftovers are gone, so I will fix a small steak with a veggie.

Mary - glad that Sis is feeling better. You are the only one I know that can go to a thrift shop and find the best bargains! You have a charmed life!

Chickie - yes, it does turn cold fast! We are only in the mid 40's and I was watching snow fall on Mt Timp across the valley. We will be next!

Irish - Kathy knows how to take charge and how to get Grandma time! So much fun watching young parents, in awe of those little ones. Littles ones are just made to be cuddled and smooched!

Well, another book!

Enjoy,
Jana

Late here but it’s been a Frick n Frack Day here.Nice Enough to be out after a hard rain last nite.
Got our voting in this morning. And the fugitives were caught & in jail. They were from TN & being housed in our jail. The fire investigators were there about the fire & the FBI.It was a night of excitement that you can do without.DS Came home from work & saw the house on fire.He Called it in.Then we heard the fugitives were loose in the road that we get on to go into town. One mile from our house.

After voting we started on leaves.CA was riding the mower to mulch them & I did the raking. Then he gets down driveway & the mower won’t crank back up.I go with car to pull him home. When he calls the place for repairs he asked him if the blade was down.He told him it wouldn’t crank with that down.UgH!!!! At least it didn’t have to go into shop.Life on the Funny Farm.

Chickie Sure Mom is enjoying reliving her Big Day.Know your gifts were exquisite.

Maryz You’re the best shopper at Thrift stores or yours are better than ours.Glad DS Got Better. And could Enjoy the fun.

Irish So you have had a great time with Kathy & Cari & baby cutie pie. They are so sweet.Good That Kathy gave them a rest.

Jana Voting here is go to prescient or Court House for early voting. Our DGS In WA votes by mail,

We have lasagna left so it will be that & salad. Many goodies still. Becca

I voted! I posted on FB thanking people who have served so that I can enjoy my freedom to vote.

We are having teriyaki chicken and "fried""rice." Am using cauliflower rice and nuking it with some onions, scrambled eggs, peas, and soy sauce. I will check a recipe for fried rice to see if there's anything else I could add. Have a beautiful day!

Hi all :)
I'm sliding into my chair late again, it seems like it was a non stop day today. We got the boys, made their breakfast, took Easton to school, went and voted, got a massage, went to Wal-Mart for some groceries, went to the grocery store for a few more things, went and picked Easton up, came home, put groceries away, fixed lunch, got the boys down for their naps, say down for a few, then it was time to start supper; I made Mongolian Beef, rice and egg rolls (first time of making those and they were yummy), cleaned the kitchen and just sat down for the evening. Kind of a crazy day.
