Good rainy morning!

And my greeting says it all. I heard something crash in the woods, so I think a big limb must have come down. Water is heavy and the limbs are brittle from such a dry summer.

Yesterday I got my wall-hanging almost finished. Half the embellishments are on - half to go - then DONE! Picture to follow. And since we sold the ATV AND the little flatbed trailer we towed it on, we have oodles of room in our shop so we spent a few hours sweeping and then moving in all the tractor implements plus the wood splitter where they will be out of the weather and safe from theft.

My son, DIL, and two grandsons will be here for brunch in a few hours, so there is work to be done - a few uglies and some food prep. This i our Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Good-bye gathering with them, but they won't stay long so the afternoon will probably be spent in my sewing room finishing my project and then CLEANING. What a mess I have going in there!

BECCA - we had the whole table to ourselves yesterday! I wonder if they all know something we don't know . . . Happy birthday to the twins! I bet they were so cute! Glad you got to skype with them.

Brunch is going to be eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and fried cakes. If there's any leftovers that may be supper. I haven't worked out any food ideas past this morning yet.

Mary - so much fun having family and brunch too! Watch the weather - we are supposed to turn very cold starting today. We have the wind before a storm, but the roads are still warm.

Tanner is doing better. Dinner tonight - don't faint - I am cooking on Sunday - small roast beef, roasted new potatoes and a veggie to be determined. I usually don't cook on Sundays, we usually find all the leftovers from the week before. No leftovers.

At church and when home, maybe a bit of sewing,

Jana If you are like me a day off cooking is great.When DS isn’t here it’s kind of find what you want bec CA isn’t hungry like he used to be & neither am I.
So glad Tanner is doing better.I had never heard of that.

Good afternoon! I had every intention of getting here yesterday, but… I had a good day with Mom. She had me vacuuming, washing windows and dusting for her before the company arrives this week. We had Taco Mayo salads. She doesn’t like Mexican food, but she really likes the taco salad bowl. The hooligans and I had a hike all around the farm, then DH and I fixed several places the fence was broken. I’d seen it on my hike. As I went through the pasture gate to the big pond, I met Orphan Annie on the wrong side of the fence on the pond dam. I got her into the pasture and started back on the dam and met Blondie. I got her back on the right side of the fence. It was so funny and sweet. They were licking me and hunting for treats. They weren’t happy when I left them on the other side of the fence treatless.

Oh, the party! These people know how to work hard and play harder. The costumes were outstanding. A lot were homemade as well as commercial, but there was no shortage of creativity. There was a big group (20 or so) that were coordinated into an interpretation of the song Ringling Road freak circus. It was very creative. A caveman dragged his woman in on her back by her hair. Actually, she was on an automotive creeper, and her wig was arranged over the rope to look like it was the “rope”. They made quite the entrance! And, Mary, yes, there was the pole! A new addition was the trapeze for the Ringling road trapeze (I say this loosely!) “artists”. They made quite an impression!

Mary—sounds like you have a great day going on there! Enjoy!!! Hope you have no damage from the limb!

Jana—congratulations on cooking Sunday dinner! LOL! My late DH expected always a big Sunday dinner spread like his mother used to make. I kind of like not cooking! My DH isn’t too picky, so life is good here!

Dinner here—fajitas. I cooked up some meat, so it’s ready to assemble. I need to sauté some onions and peppers, although DH doesn’t care about the veggies. Or, if I don’t do fajitas… Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Again, I need to do the peppers and onions. We won’t have a shortage of things to eat for sure!
