Supper club. Wednesday, October 3.

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Oct 03, 2018 4:27 am

Good morning!

It’s 43° here and mostly clear skies. Dawn is breaking and I see a few pink clouds up there. I can’t actually see the surf because of trees but I can hear it. I love the ocean. We are very close to where Bill grew up. I think it’s fun for him to revisit some of the old haunts of his youth

One couple is leaving today and continuing down the coast on a 10 day trip. The other couple and we are staying here tomorrow nights. We will be going home Friday, but they will spend another day or two out. They are from Bend Oregon and have a much longer trip to get home.

This morning Kathy posted in sew-in about a notice she received from her daughters vet. Beware of pet foods that May contain peanut putter. Apparently some peanut butter companies are starting to use xylitol which is bad for pets. I make frosty paws for Scotty and they contain peanut butter but we always use organic, natural.

Pam, I was thinking lots was going on in your world. Such good news about your brothers improvement but don’t like hearing about the blood clots. I hope they will be resolved quickly and without incident.

Chickie and Becca, I love your talk of flowers. I have so few flowers in my yard, but then I do have beautiful trees and ferns, huckleberries and salal. It’s a trade off. But sometimes, a spot of color would be nice I just don’t have enough sunlight

Irish, What day is that baby supposed to be here? Got the baby quilt finished?

Jana, Glad y’all have that electrical work done. It’s nice to go into the winter knowing big outdoor chores are completed.

Our french fries cooked outside in the Dutch oven were awesome last night. We will probably be doing that again on future trips. I have no idea about dinner tonight. We will be down to four people. I need to talk to my friend, Jackie. But we have plenty of chicken and rice, leftover pasta salad, green salad No worries here about starving!

Good morning! We are going for almost 90 today! When the temperatures drop, and they will, it will be brutal! The Hooligans and I will be walking down to see Ava as soon as I write here. I was going to go have lunch with DD today, but instead we will be going with DH to the doctor this afternoon. I need to hear for myself. I hope it’s not serious, but you never know. As Roseanna Roseanna Danna’s dad used to say, “It’s always something.”

Mary—love the pic of Scottie and the ocean! Like the moon pulls the tides, the ocean calls to me. I really did leave my heart in San Francisco on the shore.

Thanks for the peanut butter warning! I just gave the Hooligans all their worm/flea/tick pills, and I have to use peanut butter and cheese to get the job done. I checked the label first.

This is short, but we are off to see Ava… Dinner tonight… I need to cook. Will go take something out of the freezer to thaw. I didn’t get my tacos last night, so we cleaned up leftovers. I may make tacos or taco salad tonight.

Bon appétit!

Hello everyone sunny here but in 70s.

Maryz What a gorgeous shot you have of the best ocean & Scottie.I too love the sounds but the Mtns draw me too.Havent been to beach in years.Denise goes every Summer & in between. They love it.
I do love my flowers just like my Mother.

Chickie Do hope nothing serious with DH.If it’s like here it is always something.Sorry you couldn’t visit DD.Sure that’s a let down.

Pam I was so sorry to read about the recent BClots of DB but happy for all his progress. Will pray they dissolve.

Irish You were tying at same time.I was thinking of you last nite & was happy for you with the new carpet & chairs.Hope that wee one makes her appearance soon.So sweet they are.

I had the meal all prepared last nite at time DS told us.He wasn’t here.DH of course gets alarmed. We finally heard from him.He had laid his phone on hood of truck & drove off. When he missed it he walked 6 miles hunting for it but no luck.He had to go shopping on the way home.I felt so bad for him bec he had to put in all His contacts. He Depends on his phone for his business calls. Was a long nite for him.And he was up & gone by 7 this morning.

Got the uglies done.Going to make a big pot of veggie beef soup & cornbread for Dinner.
DSs Lady Friend sent us oddols of sweets cookies cakes & pie & muffins.I froze a lot for later. Becca
Have a great day & happy Eating.

Good afternoon from a semi sunny, cool, SW. Pa....But, at least it's not rain..There was another terrible storm in the area, no major damage here but not too far away, parts were flooded, trees down and quite a few tunnel cloud sightings... And no surf sounds around here, darn......Between seeing pictures from Mary and Kathy, I think I need some beach time (and not these imaginary trips I take with Mary)......

Mary, the picture really is gorgeous...What better way to relax....We are still on baby watch and today is the day.....She had gone for her visit last Thursday and the nurse thought we might have a Sept baby???? Then her doctor said, she might be a little late...So, enough of the professional advice, I want a baby, Grammy is ready...And the quilt was given to her when we went to her Pregger Kegger but I just might have to start another...And I'll need to think about one for Jackie, her wedding will be next July...My weddng quilts are always Irish Chains.....

Chickie and Becca, I agree about the flowers...Any where I go, I'm always looking at yards and of course, wishing I could have all those pretty colors...I envy people who can plant a "stick" and it grows into something gorgeous...Just doesn't happen with me....

Today, besides taking care of Dan's fur kids, I'm going to check into a new phone...But, the big thing is starting on the windows...Finally have an install date and I'm thinking, if I hadn't called, I wouldn't have that...I have a feeling, they had a flag next to my order and "we'll get around to it, whenever"...Oh well, lesson learned....

Had my eye appointment yesterday and other than the cataract growing, I could use a stronger RX for close up BUT not to the tune of $500.00...I know about the mark up in frames and also know the lens hardly cost anything to make so what's the big deal????I'll try a pair of "cheaters" until I have the cataract taken care of, which might not happen for awhile.....

Not sure what dinner might be but haven't had eggs in awhile...Just never know.....

You all have a good day.............

Happy eating..............

I made sauteed ground turkey with onion powder, paprika, turmeric, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and hominy. We had it with lemon garlic cauliflower rice and coleslaw. I didn't use mayo, but I did add local honey with the apple cider vinegar.
I love the pic of the ocean, Mary!
