SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 30
Posted: Sun Sep 30, 2018 3:38 am
Last day of September. I hope you got all your Sept things done, 'cause Oct, she is a loomin'!
Yesterday was a better day. I went to my co-worker luncheon and presented my three Christmas quilts. I posted a photo is you'd like to see. They all seemed to love their quilts, designed with each of their likes and lifestyle in mind.
I called my Bernie saleslady back yesterday and she apologized, said she never got the message and said she didn't actually know people could leave messages on their phone system. In her defense, the message system did sound funny. Anyway, she said she's not bothering to send my machine for repair, but is ordering me a new one. It will be in Tuesday but I'll be camping so won't get it until next Saturday. If this one tanks, I have 7 days to return it and I'll stick with my old one.
Vicki's son is supposed to be here today to clean our garage door. Bill found leftover paint so if it needs painting, too, Jeremy said he will do it. We'll see if that really happens. I call them 'kids' but like mine, her kids are all in their 40's. Other than setting sprinklers, (her latest obession), Vicki is staying inside, out of sight, with doors closed.
Today is packing fridge for camping. Other than that, I think we're ready to roll tomorrow. It's only a 2-hour drive to the campground and we can't check in until after noon, so no big rush to get out of here in the morning. Weather at the beach for all next week will be low 60's, cloudy/sunny, with occasional drizzle/showers. Typical for October. We'll be at Grayland Beach State Park near Westport, WA in case you are one to Google places to see what they look like. We go the first week of Oct every year because Oct 1st is when the senior citizen off-season pass kicks in and we can camp for $10/night. The pass is good until end of April.
Today is also Seahawks! And they finally won a game last week! Let's hope we can keep this 'streak' going! They are playing Arizona so if Carole stops by Supper Club today, "Go 'Hawks!"!!
IRiSH - I remember when I met Roy after Mike died. My DFIL was nothing but happy for me. And it made me love Dad even more!! And Dad was happy to have a 'son' again. I KNOW all the conflicts your Kathy is experiencing, and I know how much she loves you and I know what your support means to her. I wish nothing but happiness for her, for you, and all your family. Even your sis who seems to have stolen your carpet! and I hope there are no window-crawling adventures in your immediate future!!
BECCA - I hope the bike ride is fun for all! How long do they figure it will take them? Do you do anything with your black beans when you put them on top of the rice? Special seasonings? It sounds tasty!
TINA - sometimes it wears me out, reading about all you do! I'm with you on the make-up thing. I actually wore eye shadow and mascara yesterday. It felt funny. I hardly ever wear anything but a bit of lip gloss. Is the bride going to have her make-up done, too, for the wedding? I hope you post a photo of the bride and groom in their wedding finery!
Dinner tonite is going to be chili, I think. I already have cooked hamburger, onions, celery, garlic in the freezer. I'll put it into the crockpot with some beans, seasonings, tomatoes. Bill will be happy!
What's going to make you happy come suppertime?
