SUPPER CLUB -Monday, Sept 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Sep 24, 2018 1:45 am

Good frosty morning!

It’s cold here near La Grande, OR. 33’ this morning. Brrr!! And we were in 82’ yesterday, running A/C! We made good use of our friends place last night, even though they weren’t here. We got set up and Bill turned on the TV and tuned in the stations and found the Seahawks game just at the point of kick off. What are those odds?! And then the Seahawks won! Our friends in Texas weren’t too happy about that. Next week we will go back to rooting for each other‘s teams.

We had a fire in the wood stove on Bob & Betsy’s enclosed, covered, patio last night, at Their urging. We even took our dinner across the yard to eat in front of the fire. Dinner that turned out to be spaghetti rather than steak.

Today we make the last push for home. We have about eight hours in the saddle-375 miles. We will hit the road as soon as it starts to get light.

Tina, I have a love/hate relationship with that cleaning bug. You’ve seen our UTV - 2009 Polaris RZR 800. You can Google it for particulars. Ours comes with an extra set of tires, winch, and cover as well as a removable top, storage rack on top, and storage locker. Not to mention, a customized dog box with insulated mattress that will hold a 35 pound sheltie.

Becca, did any of your relatives closer to the coast have any serious damage from Florence? I know my sister and brother-in-law are OK but I haven’t heard about their kids who live near the coast

Irish, I’m glad you and sis are building up some “good time tokens”. So great to have each other. Sometimes I wish my sis lived closer. Other times, though, I’m glad she doesn’t! 😁

Have to cut this short. Internet issues. See y’all At home!

Good morning! I cleaned floors and did my yoga practice. The hooligans went outside and tracked through the heavy dew, then the dust, and you know what my floors look like once again. Ugh! It’s a never-ending battle.

Mary—I really need your Polaris, but I doubt DH would let me get it. I’ll work on it… Hope all is good when you arrive home! I’m not ready for 30s at night, that’s for sure!!!

After taking care of Choc every morning for several days, the hooligans thought we should walk early this morning. They will get to walk tomorrow morning. We also go at noon to Ava and Choc, and tonight for Choc. I didn’t get much time off—just yesterday afternoon after everyone got back from the music festival.

Tina—stay away! I don’t want that cleaning bug!!! I need it, but don’t really want it! I’m sure I’ll get bitten one of these days.

I think I finished my Halloween projects for this year. I bought the new Quiltmaker with such neat projects, but I just can’t do them now. I MUST get the shower gifts made and ready! First I need to tidy up my cutting table and sort the scraps. I wish I was a quilting star and had people to come in and clean up after me—everybody’s gotta have a dream, right? Not happening here, I’m afraid.

Dinner tonight—I pulled some enchiladas out of the freezer. It’s our 13th anniversary, but nothing is open on Monday, so no going out to eat. I’m sure DH won’t be impressed with Mexican food, but it’s my anniversary too. I like Mexican food, and it’s basically re-heating and not cooking… sorta like going out to eat. At least that’s my story and I’m sticking with it!

DH will be home for brunch in a few. I’m going to go get the floor cleaned again, then head for sewing room.

Bon appétit!

Hello everyone, cloudy here most of morning but no rain.
Maryz On Thurs my niece still hadn’t got to go home yet to check her house. She said her security cam on phone shows the water didn’t go in house.Guess she will find out. There is so many people that lost everything. Will be a long time restoring the areas. So many organizations are there to help feed & help in many ways.
Hope yours are ok.

Chickie Those Little hooligans bring joy & make work too just like our kids did.No wonder they love riding innyour pretty truck.

Tina What’s all this talk of the cleaning bug? I sure hope it’s not at my place.I did some windows & the window sills last week. Will finish them.I need to do fall out side work in prep for Denise and Mark to help.I need to cut all my spent flowers from Summer that’s finished. And many other chores.

We got our errands done & his blood work which is way off. Will really have to watch his diet but he never eats greens anyway.Thats my fav.Hope he can regulate it be the med.
We have spaghetti and salad. Becca

Good afternoon from a chilly, dreary, SW. Pa...Just not sure what might be happening, weather wise, probably rain.....But, it's another sweat shirt, long pants and socks kind of day.....

Mary, I'm thinking I'm chilly but what you had wasn't chilly, it was down right cold, yikes....Hope your ride home is a good one and everything is good when you arrive....But, you have the camera and can check while you're away, right? Maybe one of these times when you get back, Vickie's kids will have taken her somewhere and peace will prevail....
I know what you mean about having a sister close by, lol..We're about 20 minutes away and that seems to be pretty good....Kathy keeps telling me, I should move in with DS (she has a big 8 room house) but no matter how big, just can't see us living together for more than a day or 2, lol...All her kids live on the farm, all have big homes and lots of acreage so there's never a lack of company...There is always someone coming or going and that would drive me crazy...I had told her, during the summer, she should put in a drive thru window, seems the kids are always stopping by for lunch...If she decides she wants to give me an acre or 2, I'd put in a small double wide but that's the closest I'd move, I think.....But, who knows what the future holds, one day at a time......

Becca, sorry to hear about the blood work...Now it will be up to you to get it right...As I said, one day at a time, right? But, you really do have your hands full, I think of you so often, hoping and praying things were easier.....

Chickie, I think you really deserve to have the Polaris! Does our vote count for anything???? I was thinking of you when Terry asked me to watch Scout but I certainly don't have to do what you do...With Scout, I clip the lead on his collar and off he goes to do his thing and then he's ready to come back in and have a treat (not that Grammy gives him too many treats)....AND then Dan asked me if I'd take care of his 2 cats next week while they go to Hawaii with Kathy and Tim...Now we're talking about treats, boy do I spoil them.....

Tina, Not sure if I want that cleaning bug to hit here or not...(Wonder if there's some sort of shot you can get)...You seem to be on the go all the time and you're tiring me out something terrible.....

Not much happening in this house, no sun so no pep or energy...I had made a list and so far, crossed off 1 thing, which isn't good.....Right before I go to sleep, I have such good intentions for the next day but not sure what happens to those intentions during the night....
One thing I did do and I'm so proud, I washed the car, yesterday afternoon..And when I went to my sister's, I made sure everyone knew it! And by the way, her stuffed meatloaf was to die for...She only asked a couple of her kids and the dinner was super...She always makes jello and also made a custard pie and I had taken the Shoofly cake, so we really ate good....And heeding Chickie's advice, I had containers with me and brought my tonight's dinner home with me.....

Better get with it and do something, even if it's wrong....

You all have a great day......

Happy eating.........

Did you all see Chriss' picture at the quilt show...She and Eleanor!

Good morning!

I am in the Batt Cave - CLEANING! A saying goes, that a clean desk is the sign of a sick mind! Well, my desk is clean, the table that my spare sewing machine sits on is clean, the area where I cut and my sewing machine is, is clean and so is the portable ironing board. Boy I must be sick! LOL!

Well, Ethan is sick too. He is here, as Sarah needed to work and run errands for medications. Ethan came home from school early and is on my couch down here in the Batt Cave. When he doesn't feel good, he moos. He wants cartoons on, but Grandpa is working, so we told Ethan to take a nap. So glad that we have a bathroom partial here, just in case! Washing carpet on stairs is not fun.

Dinner - I am in the mood for banned white chowder. My new storage containers arrived, so I can make a huge batch and freeze some in other meals. The containers came in a pack of 24 as stated on Amazon. So I thought that it would be 12 containers and 12 lids, nope, 24 containers and 24 lids. How nice, except that I bought 2 sets! Sarah will get the other set as she cooks and freezes ahead as well. Glad that they were not expensive. I think a batch of cornbread will go nicely with the soup.

We dropped below 40 last night and hardly at 70 now, during the middle of the day.

I bought my halloween candy the other day and will now bag the candy pieces in small treat bags to pass out. Last year I did 125 bags of candy and almost ran out, so I upped the number this year to 150, hope that is enough.

Oh yes, I got my IT guy to finally load the embroidery software for my machine to my computer. The software was a bugger to install, but it is done and now I can use all the embroidery patterns that I have on my new machine. I even hacked around and learned how to transfer the pattern from the computer to my machine. That is pretty good for me - I am computer challenged!

Off to play

Enjoy,
Jana
