Good morning,
We didn't get back from our errands yesterday until after 1:00pm. I got hardly anything done on my chore list. And have another little errand to run today. Trying to get my sisters' Christmas/birthday packages ready to hand off to my sis when we meet in UT for the ATV jamboree. Saves me a TON in postage! Today will be laundry and getting food organized to take in trailer. We both have long lists. Bill's list is longer than mine - he's still working on finetuning the video for his brother's service, has to work on the ATV, the tote it rides on, and other manly things. And we only have 3 days to get it all done. But we will.
JANA - fall is arriving here, too. We were 82* yesterday, but will be in 60's and rainy in a few days. We don't get much color in PNW except brown, some yellow. did you find what you needed in the sale room or the little red wagon?
CHICKIE - your to-do list makes my head swim! What are you mending on the wedding dress? Sure wish you'd get some rain!
BECCA - sometimes you are like a white tornado! I have to ask - What is a "DG Run"?
TINA - I can smell those pickles from here! Lots of good things going on in your kitchen lately? How is Easton liking school?
VELDA - I think Yoga or Tai Chi are both very good for us all. My DD#2 is a librarian but is qualified to teach Yoga. I wish she were here. Hard for me to learn it from a Book from the Goodwill. So mostly I just walk every morning. It's not optimal, but it's something. and it makes the dog happy, and that's what counts.
PAM - your rice dish sounded tasty. Was it a WW recipe?
I haven't given a thought to supper for tonite. We might have a scramble. I have a leftover baked potato to dice up, onions, green pepper, and eggs. And I can toss in some bacon bits, too. and a bit of shredded cheddar. I'm trying to clean up the fridge before we leave for 16 days.
Have you got an idea yet what you're having?

Good Morning Mary, and all the others as the morning goes along.
Yesterday I did my pork tenderloin ( a piece of it, as I cut it in sections and freeze) with two packages of brown gravy mix and 1/2 of a sweet onion cut up. Ohh.... it was so good! It was more simple to throw together and paired up with mash potatoes and vegetable and salad so nicely. Now we have plenty of left over for tonight.
One thing I would do differently next time is use about 1/2 cup less water when preparing or do a bit of thickener before serving because the gravy was just a bit too runny.
I will continue my work at putting my church quilt top together. It requires to turn each block as I assemble and I made a few mistakes and had some frogging to do. I hate when I do that!
I will try to post a picture when I am finished. I think it would be a lovely pattern with a lighter color accent, but for the church mission quilts, I prefer to keep it a darker color. Well, you will see what I mean when I post the picture.
Have a great day.... and hug some cotton.

Good morning

Easton isn't liking school, it's too long...he has to be there about 40 minutes early because his dad works there and that's when he has to be at work and then he has to stay 30-40 minutes after school because that's when his dadgets off work, so he's there for at least 8 hours. He's hating it and they won't listen to us and have him just do half days this semester. It's very hard on little ones when they're used to being home all day and then throwing them into being gone for so many hours. It's different with kids that go to daycare from the time they're a few months old because they don't know any different, just another placer to them. With my kids and Jazmyne they were put into pre school at 3 for 2 half days a week then at 4 years old went to 3 half days a week and then when it came to kindergarten it didn't bother them. I'm upset with Holly not giving this opportunity to the boys.
I might make chile rellenos for supper but I haven't totally decided yet, it might be leftover grilled Ruebens. I forgot to try my pickles last night, Dad was late for supper and I wait till he gets here to put cold stuff on the table....I'll blame him LOL

Good (late) morning! I’m finally getting here. Need to go take care of Ava in a few, but it’s sprinkling out. I won’t melt, but I do swell up like a sponge!
My best laid plans yesterday got derailed. I saw some volunteer cherry tomatoes outside my sewing room windows and went to pick them. DH said to go pick my apples. He then came out with a ladder and helped me. He had an ulterior motive. “You can make a pie.” Hours later, he had an apple pie, and I made a road trip to take Mom a small pie as well. Odie and Boomer rode shotgun as it was cool and drizzly.
We’ve had storms and rain in the forecast for a week, and nothing has materialized. We have just had overcast and intermittent sprinkles—no rain, and (fortunately) no storms. We don’t really need rain, but this overcast and bits of drizzle are depressing. You know I like my SUN!
I forgot on my “To Do” list my sister’s birthday present. It’s a table topper. I need to go look at yesterday’s post and make a list to keep myself on target. I think it’s mainly buttons on the wedding dress.
Tina—I’ll take chiles relleños… But, I also love Ruebens! I’m easy to please—especially if I’m not cooking! I agree that pre-school definitely prepares little ones for kindergarten.
Vel—your tenderloin sounds really yummy as well! Hang in there with your quilt. I hate re-making anything as well! I’d rather sew from scratch than do alterations, too.
We better go walk Ava, then I hope to do some sewing since I didn’t get there yesterday. I’m also coming along on my invitations calligraphy. Still have about 75 to go (I’ve probably done 150 or so). I can only do 20 a sitting before my hand starts cramping. I’m using a dip pen and red India ink. (Her colors are red and tan.)
Dinner tonight… zoodles and a protein for me. Steak or burger for DH. And, there’s apple pie…
Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from dreary, rainy, SW Pa....
YEP, I'm back, I think! Right now, I'm not sure of anything....To say my trip was a whirlwind tour of some western parts is an understatement....But, gotta tell you what we did....I flew into Vegas, met Kathy and while she worked, I played..One evening, we went to see the Australian BeeGees and then she walked me all over Vegas...We left Vegas and flew to San Jose and met up with her DH and on Sat. we went to the Scottish Highland Games in Pleasanton California...WHAT a day..The highlight was meeting "The Mountain" Gregor Clegane from the Game of Thrones show...I don't watch the show but Kathy was so excited and of course had to have our pictures taken....AND he actually picked me up...This guy is huge, well over 7' and weighs about 450 lbs. Has titles for being the world's strongest man...His real name is Hafbor Julius Bjornsson and he's from Iceland.....Kathy's DH is retired military so we stayed at Travis AirForce base, which was wonderful...AND the 2 of them being wine people, we had to go to Sanoma and Napa and visited 3 tastings...My favorite was the Castello di Amorosa in Napa, unbelievable.....We also had to stop at the Jelly Belly factory and do a lot of shopping (and sampling), some nasty flavors, lol....We came back to Reno Monday night and Kathy had to fly back to Vegas early Tuesday and I left yesterday morning..I was on a plane from 7:00 AM until we landed last night about 6:00 but all in all, it was great....Might take me a month of Sundays to recover but I loved every minute and look forward to the next time.....
My fur babies have not left my side since I got home and little Kelly has been very vocal about me leaving.....
Still trying to empty the suitcase...Had to do laundry and did hang out a few things only to have to run out and take them down when it rained....Other than that, I'm moving very slow....
I did talk to my sister and she seemed quiet but trying to keep busy..I did tell her in the next day or so, I'll be up and we'll have a long talk, maybe go for the day.....
As far as dinner, will have to check the freezer...I'm sure there is a frozen left over hidden in there some where.....
Sorry to have gone on and on.....
You all have a good rest of the day......
Happy eating...............

Maryz You are always on the go.Or in the sewing room.DG is Dollar General.I had to stop for a few things.
Chickie My Hand would cramp too .Thatsa lot to write.Hope she appreciates them.Boy we can get lead astray by DHs.And he had a motive too.Surprised he can eat pie.
Tina I totally agree on the pre Ks.I used to teach Pre K & they shouldn’t have to be there all day .Although some were. The ones that leave at noon do better.
Velda Oh how I hate ripping out.Know it will be pretty.I love scrappy.I think bec of the age I grew up in.With feed sacks & we had scrappy quilts too.
Our trip today was quite an ordeal for DH.The place was packed & long wait just for blood work. Then we went out to eat.He had his pie so that made it a little better.I had chicken salad. And a cup of soup. Becca
Denise just called. They are on the way here for a couple of days.So glad.Love seeing them.

I'm back, just finished lunch. I had chicken salad and I opened those B&B pickles and oh my goodness they are yummy yummy! Even Frankie liked them and he doesn't eat any kind of a sweet pickle!
Welcome home Irish! Sounds like you had a blast! Perfect!
I made 34 poppy seed pecan rolls; Frankie's favorite and they freeze so well so they last a little while

Good afternoon!
Just got home from a long traipse! I did get to stop at the LQS for a minute. Michael is gathering up all the construction stuff - don't you love that word = stuff! It is trash day tomorrow and for once the cans are full. Stopped off at the grocery store and got some needed necessities - milk and eggs and of course my favorite sandwich jumped in the basket along with a cannoli.
Down here in the Batt Cave and will sew on 2 side borders to my halloween quilt that I am keeping and get those last 2 skinnies done as well. The decorative wire hangars arrived, so they will be ready for the wall in a few days - Can't quite put up my fall decor until the first of October.
Irish - I know all those places, that is except Vegas, never been there and probably never will, but those games are a big deal in the Bay Area. When you drove up from Pleasanton, you went right past Concord on the wy to Travis. About 5 miles to the east is where I lived. Glad that you are home safe and sound.
Tina - Ethan is having a hard time too adjusting to his longer school day - he wants to play after lunch, not go back to class. In fact as he leaves school each day, he passed the slide and has to go down it as he is coming out to the car.
Becca - pie is a good thing! a fun time with Denise coming to visit.
Chickie - best laid plans! That is going to be one big wedding with all those invitations!
Vel - can't wait to see the new quilt!
Well, we have class tonight. Our class is retarting for the next 2 semesters. We have leftovers - of which I may just have to freeze some of them as there is no way to eat through that much food!
Enjoy,
Jana

Oh, Easton is 4, when he started school his birthday was 3 months away. We don't think he was ready for these long hours. He was still taking a good nap in the afternoons here. I just hate the fact that he cries everyday and wants to leave and is hating school when he was so excited about going, he just didn't know it was going to be such a long day.
