SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 13th
Good morning,
Scottie has me up and running early this morning. Silly dog! So I'm getting an early start to the day.
Bill's brother finally passed away last evening. A relief, actually. Bill received the news via phone call from his sister, who received it by Text with a request to please 'let Bill know'. Since the family needs no help from us, we will carry on as usual here until we hear of memorial plans, if any. So our trip in September is still on hold until then. Departure date is supposed to be Sept 1.
PAM, I'm glad someone finally is listening to your DB. I hope they didn't send him to the same hospital he'd just come from.
BECCA, Your supper of chicken and pasta sounded so good. I think we'll be having that soon. Comfort food.
TINA - hard to believe Matthew is already a year old!
CHICKIE - glad the dog duty has eased off a bit for you. You have been a very busy doggie gramma! You've got sewing to do!
JANA - I just whizzed by that QIAD tote pattern. But I'm sure it will come around again soon. I, too, went looking in my pattern stash for a tote pattern and found a good one so I got started on that yesterday afternoon for my Secret Santa gift.
Last night I saute'd veggies with leftover pork roast. Seasoned heavily with lemon pepper and served it all over leftover rice. Added a bit of soy sauce over all. It turned out really good. Tonite -we are meeting friends for Mexican Happy Hour. This will include a margarita and a light supper, seated outside on the restaurant's patio under a shade umbrella near a large tinkling fountain. Bill wants to go and I think being with friends is a good idea.

Good morning! It’s to be about 10 degrees cooler today—80s! That’s welcome, and maybe some rain in the process. We had rain in the area again yesterday, but no production—much ado about nothing. It’s also back to dog duty here—Choc for 48 hours, and Ava daily. Such is the life of Doggy Grammy.
Mary—so sorry about Bill’s DB. He put up a valiant effort. Yes, being out with friends is a good idea. Your last night’s and tonight’s dinners sound yummy!
Today will be sewing! Yes, I do have a lot to make!!! I’m really enjoying it. I wish I could quilt better and quicker. So far I haven’t started quilting. I’m putting together a small throw today.
Dinner tonight… I think I can find easy things to fix, so I won’t waste much time in the kitchen. I’m enjoying my zoodles. DH won’t even taste them. LOL!
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
Sorry I am not here every day, living gets in the way. We have had just terrible monsoons here I. Surprise, AZ. I live in Sun City Grand, an age restricted community .
A few days we loss 800 plus trees in the golf courses (4) and common areas. DH and I were so very lucky and had no damage at all. So many of my friends loss trees, roof damage, even Windows leaking. It has been a nightmare for them. The workers are still trying to clean all this up. Thank goodness the community had insurance to cover all those trees.
MaryZ and Bill -my thoughts and prayers are with you both and Bill's family. It is so hard to loose your siblings. I still can't believe,I have lost all three of my sisters and one brother. Guess that is what happens when you are the youngest. My older brother and I are closer now than we ever were before. Loss makes you appreciate what you have.
Tonight we are have a beef roast, Yorkshire pudding, veggie of some type and potatoes.
I have never did it in the crock pot before, but I am going to try it today.
I have my childhood friend and her DH arriving for a visit next week. We have been friends since kindergarten . That is a long time ago. So you know that calls for moving a lot of stuff from my sewing room/guest room. DH is still not doing real well from the surgery. I should say...where the surgery was done is great...no pain, BUT there is a spot on his right hip that is tightening up and causing pain. He is doing PT. so we will see. So you know who is going to do all this stuff...no one else but me lives in this house. Lol. Luke has totally recovered and back to his old self. Talking to me like crazy.lol
Well better get moving. Love you guys!!
Carole

Hello everyone, sunny here & 82.Supposed to be rain free for couple of days.
Chickie You need rain & we have had so much.Wish I could share.Oh doggie duty again.Know you are busy creating your beautiful items.Am Anxious to see them.Quilting slows things down.Especially Hand quilting.
Maryz Im So Sorry But felt It would be soon.Sure they are relieved but so sad at the loss.It leaves a hole to lose a sibling.I have 1 left out of 6 of us.
Think you are wise to be with friends. Our pasta was quite tasty.
Carole Sorry about the trees coming down.Glad you were safe.Sure hope DH gets well soon. Can be rough Doing everything.Speaking from experience.
We got several errands done but DH wears out before you leave Home.I had other things but just got him Home to rest.Getting so hard to go out with him.Going to Orthopedic in the morning so maybe I can finish then.
Hope to get upstairs & finish some lap blankets for the Church I started before my hand was hurt. The traffic was bad bec everywhere we went there was construction going on.They are putting in 3 new round abouts which I feel is useless but the DOT felt otherwise ,plus bridge construction,& repaving of our 4 lane highway coming toward our house.Plus the utilities Co is replacing all the wooden poles with metal or concrete new ones. Its been construction Summer here.lol
We have leftovers of The pasta & Chicken. And will add salad for me.DH did go to bakery beside jewelry store.I got my new battery for my watch & he hit the bakery.Got a giant double chocolate chip cookie with buttercream frosting inside & dipped in chocolate.UgH. Also a cream Horne. So he’s happy. Becca

Mary, I am thinking of you and your DH.
Chickie, enjoy your doggie granny duties. Mom has extra boarders at her house, right now.
Carole, that's a lot of trees. Thank goodness you were lucky.
Becca, I'm with DH. Heading to the bakery sounds awesome.

DB had emergent surgery on his neck, today. Unless they did something to his neck during the back surgery, I think they are just grasping at straws. I am not very confident in them. Mom told Bob to ask for a different Dr, but I don't know if he did.

We had tomatoes stuffed with cottage cheese, little yellow plums, cucumber, mixed green with funflower seeds. and maybe we will have some fresh pineapple for our evening snack.
