Good morning!

IRISH - sorry for your friend's loss. But sounds like you all are a great support for each other. Interesting that your tree guy is from your sister's shady past (whether she knew it or not!). Congrats to Terry on sale of his house. And good for Nick! Choosing his own path. I wish him a long and safe career in Criminal Justice. What sort of thing is he interested in the most? and I definitely do remember and miss Joanne. I still get a Christmas card from her but no letter. I miss her.

BECCA - hearing you talk of mowing your lawn exhausts me and makes my hip hurt!

CHICKIE - How was Shelly's birthday gathering? No rain, I take it, but at least you're a tad cooler! Barkapalooza - haha!

PAM - I love cukes any way I can get them. My mom always put them in vinegar and milk. I think canned milk, but I'm not positive.

CAROLE - how are all your patients?

LINDA - Any change in your weather forecast coming up? I guess at least, like rain, it's good sewing weather (as long as you have A/C!)

TINA - have fun at the party today!

What a fun afternoon and evening we had with Autumn. Lee & Lara (DD1 and DSIL) were here, too. They brought supper - everything to make ham/provolone/spinach sandwiches on ciabatta rolls. They didn't leave until after 10pm. Long night for me who goes to bed by 9! lol! But didn't matter cuz I had sleepless night anyway. Today we'll do it all again but add Mike & Emily (my DS and DDIL) and one grandson, Drew.

Bill was with his brother all morning and half the afternoon. He's going back today. Nurses told Mike's wife that he has 2 or 3 days left, so it's more important that Bill is there than here. Family seems to have it all together, is accepting, and peace made with the situation.

So in between everything, I'm getting a little bit of sewing done on the anniversary quilt. I'm full speed ahead as much as possible on that project, though I may get pulled up short when it comes to the quilting.

Happy Supper!

Good morning! We are to be cooler today and maybe rain… still 80s, but rain will be welcome. I’m going to do a rain dance. If I could have DD’s birthday lunch outside in the park, I would. Every outdoor birthday party I had for her, it rained. Unfortunately, Mom is unable to leave her house, so no party in the park.

Mary—thanks for asking… it’s today at noon… lunch with our 4 generations. Crazy! I can’t believe I was just 21 when she was born. She just can’t be turning 51! Enjoy your time with Autumn! I’m sure she’s out with her friends today, but glad you are getting time with her, too! So sorry about Bill’s DB, but so good they are spending time together. You’re right, he needs to be there.

Tina—have fun! This is a party day for our girls.

So much for “keeping the wandering dog at home”. He’s back this morning, but at least we got sleep last night. Someone is howling—not sure if it’s him or Boomer (half beagle hound) or this Labrador. Anyway, I’m glad I’m leaving soon to go to town. Too much doggie excitement/frustration. DH is at coffee and glad to be away, I’m sure! Hopefully the owner of the dog will notice he’s gone and come get him before long. Boomer came in and I had to stop and love on him and tell him what a good boy he is. He and Tinker Bell are at my feet as I type.

Sorry this is kind of short… going to pack up my stuff and head for town soon. I made red velvet brownies for the birthday cake. Brownies are easier to transport than cake, and that’s DD’s favorite.

Dinner tonight… whatever pops out at us. There are leftovers for DH, and tomatoes and salad for me.

Bon appétit!

Good late afternoon!

We are slightly cooler today, only 96 this late in the afternoon.

Mary - such family fun at your house with Aut there! I am sure everyine is happy to see her. Prayers for Bill, I know it is a rough time for him.

Chickie - no way your DD is that old, you are only 29! Mom's BD is not that far off either. It will be her 100th ?

Becca - so glad the hand is mending. I need to cut Michael's hair too, he is getting to be shaggy and at times he looks like he put his finger in a light socket - standing up every which way.

Pam - way to go in stretching out your birthday. I need to do that too!

Dinner is a lemon butter over banned and fresh corn on the cob. During summer corn on the cob is a staple in this house.

Well, the last section of the floor needs waxing. I have to do it in sections as the table gets in the way, but I will be done for awhile.

Clouding up and getting dark as a thunderstorm must be moving in. Waiting on the monsoon season to start here. We need the rain. The fire west of me by a couple of miles is being held to a small amount of land. We are short of firefighters with all the fires here and in the West. Daniel is holding down the fire station at home. That fire in Redding that killed 2 firefighters, one of them was Daniel's friend. Redding is not too far from Daniel's house.

Enjoy,
Jana
