Good morning, I am posting from the parking lot of Elmer’s restaurant. Meeting friends for early breakfast as they pass-through on their way from Seattle to Portland. I was asked to post a picture of our new rockery. The rocks are a lot bigger than they look in the picture. The biggest we couldn’t even lift with the tractor but had to pull with a chain
Today is Errands l: get car emissions tested, oil changed, and visit camping world. As long as we are in Tacoma we will do them all.
No idea yet about supper. Haven’t even had breakfast yet

Good morning

Mary, it looks beautiful! A job well done

We had rain, rain and more rain since yesterday evening all through the night, awesome! I'm loving it all! We walked this morning in 65* and 98% humidity LOL it looked like we'd get soaked but we didn't.
I don't have to water so I'll see what I can do to keep myself busy in the house...we might go to town to check on another BIL's house. Frankie being retired is nice but staying home 24/7 gets old fast, I might as well become a true hermit.
Supper tonight might be tacos.
Tina

Good morning! We had rain all over the area yesterday afternoon and evening. Finally, just as I got home from my walk, we had RAIN! Unfortunately, it didn’t last long, and when I checked the rain gauge it was barely a trace. Sigh! We checked ponds yesterday afternoon, and they are losing water quickly in the heat. The pastures are crispy dry, but the few drops yesterday will be good for today’s grazing. We are going for 98 every day for at least a week with slight afternoon thunder shower chances.
Mary—I like your rocks! They are a lot of work!!! We go down to the dry creek and get flat stones for walls and stepping stones. Some are super heavy! Remind me not to go to prison and have to work the rock piles!
Tina—I can stay home and not be bored or want to go to town. DH gets a little stir crazy and likes to go check on his sons. I think I could easily be a hermit. Welcome to my world of humidity, although we don’t cool down that much. It’s still 80 in the mornings, but our humidity is right there next to melting.
Pam, tell me what a black and tan is… of course, anything with salt on top sounds delicious!!! I’m thinking chocolate and caramel??? I’m wearing the minimum allowable clothing here, too. I’d have to put more on to go to town as well! At my age, it’s not a pretty picture, but I have to be comfortable!
Jana—Wait till he becomes a hollow leg teenager! It’s crazy what they can put away and not put on an ounce.
Becca—I guess if a dog bites you, it’s a good thing the owner is a PA and knows how to take care of it for you!
Carole—always nice to have reciprocal neighbors and have fun with them, too. My Odie has some fatty tumors. He’s had them for ages. My sister’s dog has recently had surgery for some large ones and is doing just fine. He wore tee shirts to keep from chewing on them. He’s a Wheaton Terrier—not a small dog, either.
Irish—hoping you aren’t wasting away not eating and that you are feeling better!
Today I plan to try to stay in and sew some more. I’m about to use up all the scraps from the roll of strips I used to make my sister’s placemats. It’s been fun challenging myself to leave no scrap un sewn. I’ll be taking the cart to go see Ava as we have heat advisories today and tomorrow. Maybe I can walk tonight. I did 50 minutes of yoga practice this morning.
Dinner tonight… some little crustaceans for DH with corn on the cob. I think I’ll have sliced tomatoes and cottage cheese. It’s definitely too hot to cook!
Bon appétit!

Good morning from a gorgeous summery Sw. Pa...It is indeed purrrrfect.....I'm kind of in between trips so what better use of my time, right? I had an early doctor's appointment and now I'm on my way to have lunch with a couple of Meals on wheels gals....You know how it is, you feel terrible until it's time to see the doctor, lol...But, she still feels it's diverticulitis, but did order blood work and a tummy scan and an antibiotic...Of course I had told her I already self diagnosed and it could be anything from gall bladder to pancreatic cancer...This doctor is the sweetest, little thing you've ever met and just talking to her makes you feel better...But, we'll see what happens....As far as lunch, we'll also see how that goes.....
Mary, your rockery looks great and I can imagine the hard work involved......We had a huge pile of rocks in the empty lot when we 1st started to clear it and had our oldest DS come down with his backhoe and take them away...Now, I wish I had left them there.....
Chickie, happy to hear you had a few rain drops and sure wish your temps would lower just a bit....I'm like you on warm days, barest of clothes....Often hope no one comes to the door, lol....
Tina, I've grown to really enjoy staying home but there again, I can always get in the car and go somewhere if the walls do start closing in...But, I'm not one who has to have something going on every day, no way.....
Becca, hope the booboo isn't giving you too much trouble...It is funny about dogs, you just never know...Even when I watch Terry's dog, Scout, I'm still a little leery about making any sudden movements and do watch how I feed him...But, so far, he's been so good, each time>.(could be all the treats Grammy gives him).....
Well, I'm off to see the girls....We're going to Applebee's which should be super nice....
And for my dinner, it will be whatever I have for lunch... I did have the doctor shaking her head when I told her, the only thing that I could eat and not get a tummy pain was chips.....Chips and popcicles (sp)......Not a bad diet....
You all have a great day......
Happy eating................

I'm back!
We've been all over Tacoma today, and after the end of our errands swung by a former co-worker's house. She was having sewing machine problems and asked for help. she was coming here, but since we were passing close to her house, we stopped at her house to save her the trip and the bridge toll. However she never checked her phone/text messages and so, of course, was at our house while we were at hers. Bill fixed her machine and I showed her how to thread it properly and taught her about tension. I'm sure she forgot it all the minute she was out the door. After she left we found her glasses under our table so now she'll have to make a second trip out to our place. Oh well. We've been friends since 1986, but she's always been a complete scatterbrain.
PAM, I'm thinking yoour Black and Tan is a beer. Never had it with salt before. Might have to try it. I do like beer with Snappy Tom, though . .
JANA - OUCH!! poor Matt! We've never done that - yet - but we did drop our trailer onto our truck about 18 months ago when both were still brand new. It takes distance to stop that much weight!
CAROLE - how are all the patients doing at your house?
TINA - since Bill has retired, he is on the go every single minute. He may only go into the office and peruse his forums and FB, but he calls that 'on the go'. Right now he's outside washing the trailer.
CHICKIE - I could easily become a hermit. I'd say we could 'hermit' together, but then I guess that defeats the purpose of being a hermit! I hope your pond won't dry up. Folks live in there!!
IRISH - our friend, Warren, suffered terribly from diverticulitis. If he adhered to his diet, he was OK. None of my homemade jam for him!! Too many berries. I do a lot of self-dx'g, too, but tell my doctor I've come for a second opinion. She also is a sweet young thing who immediately puts you at ease and calms fears.
BECCA - Some dogs can be unpredictable. My brother's 8 yr old sweet golden lab suddenly chomped his hand when he bent to pick up a piece of lint from the rug. Jim said he wouldn't have a biting dog on the place and he and Charlie took a walk into the woods. Only Jim came back. Farmhand justice. Sad, though, as Jim's sons thought it was funny to teach Charlie to fight with their blue heelers for their food. Otherwise, Charlie would never have done that.
We've decided on supper here. I know it's hot but we're having meatloaf and baked potatoes, asparagus and salad. I'm wondering if we can grill a homemade pizza on the barbie. I need to text our shiny new chef!!

LOL, Mary, you hid the supper club right under my nose. I almost started a new thread for Thursday, July 12th.
Yes, a Black and Tan is a beer. I like ones that have some flavor to them - not all pale and whimpy. My DH is taking me out to supper, next week for my birthday. Maybe to Ellicott Brewing Company - shucks - It's my turn to be DD. He let me sample the last two times we went. But I can get my favorite calimari with banana peppers coated and fried, too, and two colors of sesame seeds and asian dressing with tiny carrot shreds. But that is next week.
Today, the plan is bbq chicken and egg and cheese sandwiches of Daddy's concoction. Mom told him he is in charge of supper, tonight, and has to live with the result. Lol.
I love the rocks in your yard, Mary. Dan has said at times, that we should just let our yard tuen into a pretty meadow. The problem with that is all the prickers and trees that spring up in untended areas.
I have to go. Daddy just brought me my supper. You guys have fun!
Pam
