SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, July 11th
Good morning!
Yesterday was a good day! In the morning we hauled giant rocks out of the woods and a few other places in the yard over to a wooded area in front of our woodshed. I want to border that wooded area. My thought is that from now on, whatever is behind those rocks can grow with careless abandon. I'll just prune whatever hangs over the rocks that I don't like. This way I don't have to spend two days, 3 times a year, on my knees, cleaning out the briars, weeds, and junk in that area. I LOVE having a tractor to help with the yard work! lol! Today we'll finish that job.
I had my massage at noon and after that I just hung out in my sewing room. I finished my 26" square table topper that I started at the quilting class at our RV Rally and now have it on my dining room table. It really turned out nice. Then I started organizing some scraps and pretty soon it was time to make supper. I expect today will be much the same as yesterday, minus the massage.
JANA - did you say 'kittens'?? What fun! I never hear of anyone having kittens any more! What colors? They will be so fun to watch. when I was Ethan's age, we had a litter of 4 (Duffy, Jessie, Scroungie, and Explorer). Every evening just as we were finishing supper the kittens all woke up from their naps and started playing in the bottom shelf of the bookcase Mom had in the dining room. We all sat there for about 45 minutes, watching them play. Better than any TV program! Ethan's a lucky little boy!
TINA - rain and pizza all on the same day! A red-letter day!
CHICKIE - Have you melted yet in your heat? You need to come visit me. It's 55* right now at 6am, but we're supposed to go to 75* today. Though I see 88* is predicted for Sunday. That's pretty warm for here. Wish I could share!
BECCA - Ouch!! I wonder why your neighbor's dog suddenly bit you? Is Cara the dog's owner? Glad you're getting a tetanus shot. How long since your last one? Hope there's no infection.
IRISH - you have a goldmine in your wonderful grandson! Do you rent him out by any chance? I'm sorry you're still not up to par. Are you just waiting it out or is your doctor investigating? At least you are now sporting a sparkling clean car!!
LINDA - welcome home!! Glad you had a nice trip! I have never forgotten Hwy 1 in CA with all it's twists and turns and cliffs! My late DH, Mike, and I drove that going south (cliff side!) in 1984. Never again! We were just on 101, too, but I didn't see you there. ;o) I love Leavenworth. We usually spend some time there at least every two years. Aren't the shops fun?! Glad you are home safe and sound, fondling your fabric once again.
PAM - smart idea about the bread/buns. I usually freeze leftover buns or else Bill uses them for sandwiches. In fact, we're having buns for supper tonite!
STANDING CAROLE WITH AN E - whew! ( And my attorney thinks I have a long name!!) Glad Ken has been released from restrictions. But I thought he was before your trip. Guess I'm just ahead of the times! Maybe you all should be dipping into Lukes glucosamine! lol! Hope the exercises help your hiney.
Supper tonite will be burgers on the grill, I think. When we go to Costco I buy a big pack of hamburger and I make up about a dozen burgers and freeze them for quick suppers. SOO handy! I also make one or two meatloaves but it's been too hot to heat up the oven so they are still in the freezer.
What's the plan for your supper?

Good morning! We are still hot, and no rain. The sons and grandsons have been mowing, raking and baling hay in our hay meadow the last two days. It looked like they were finishing last evening. The big round bales look like soldiers around the fields. Now, we are definitely ready for rain! We had threatening clouds yesterday afternoon, but nary a drop fell. It was 90 with a real feel of 100 when I walked just before dark last evening to potty Choc for the night.
Mary—I’d definitely share your weather! This heat really gets tiresome. It’s too hot to do yard work, and I really need to do yard work.
Becca—a dog bit me when I was walking in town. It just ran out and grabbed my hand. Thankfully it didn’t break the skin. I hope everything is good with you!
Pam—when I used to buy buns (pre DH’s surgery), leftovers became garlic bread with pasta or breakfast toast. I like the idea of cutting them up for sloppy Joes. We used to get chili “burgers” at a stand when I was in school. They were nothing but chili on hot dog buns for 15 cents (in the 50s). Another shop had chili cones for a nickel… chili in a little ice cream cone. My DD thought they were amazing treats.
Linda—what a great trip! I wanted to drive the coast highway when Mom, DD and I took our trip, but it was closed due to fires. Before the fire, our house was an antique “museum”. There was stuff on all the walls and everywhere. DH used to go to sales and drag home treasures. We have quite a bit of stuff now, but nothing like we had. So much history in all that stuff! My uncle visited and the two compared what they had in common—too funny!
Irish—it’s not fun feeling punk. Hope you get better quickly! What a great DGS!!! We should all be so fortunate as you! Treasure the time you get to spend with him! Kansas’ humidity in the summer is brutal. It usually drops to the 50s or 60s (humidity) in the daytime, but it sometimes stays in 70s or 80s. No sweat evaporation! It’s definitely not dry heat!!!
Carole—Good news for Ken! I used MSM for my little dog with hiney issues. I can’t believe Luke is now 8! Wasn’t he just a puppy last year? Crazy how time flies! I like your dinner!
Tina—what are you doing today? How was that pizza?
Dinner here—a chicken leg for DH with some corn. I still have some squash, but I may eat it for brunch. If that happens, I’ll find more veggies for dinner—a big bowl of tomatoes with some corn on the side… it’s still early for thinking about dinner.
Bon appétit!

Good morning,
Today we are having the couple next door for drinks and snacks at 4:00. Doubt we will want anything else after that. So we will consider that dinner. She , my neighbor. Watered my 2 desert rose plants while I was gone. She is leaving Saturday f or a couple of weeks and I will water hers. Lol
Have to call the vet today to get the name of the surgeon he wants me take Luke to for that VERY LARGE fatty tumor on his right front side. I am just so worried about this. It doesn't seem to bother him. He even lays on it, but we are worried that it could attach to his heart or lungs. Say a prayer for him please.
Yes, I am still standing. Going to start those exercises my daughter sent me today. Hoping that it helps .
Irish, I sure hope you start to feel better soon. I am sure you are sick of not feeling just right.
Tina, we finally got rain here a couple of nights ago. Not much, but AZ only gets 2 - 3 inches a year. But it has been really hot here this summer, reminds me of when I lived Saudi Arabia. It use to get 130 degrees there. Now that is hot. But I am a sunshine gal and love the heat.
Better get going in the sewing room. See you all tomorrow
Carole
Yup, still standing

Good morning
We got a little more rain, not much but we're all cloudy and that's keeping our temps under 90, I'll take it!
Mary, whew, hauling those rocks wore me out for you! Post pictures please
Becca, I hope your hand gets better fast.
Carole, I hope those exercises help your hiney, what a bum-mer
Chickie, those guys of yours are sure working hard, they need lemonade!
We went for my walk this morning. I didn't sleep very well last night so I've been kinda quiet today. Frankie started putting down stepping stones in our front yard for a little place to sit and we have some for our walkway too.
Supper tonight is Klobase and zucchini and salad.
Not much going on here, I'm running on empty.
Oh, the pizza was scrumptious as usual last night

Good afternoon!
Becca - ouch! Glad that you are staying on top of that wound.
Not much here, getting the uglies caught up - floors, vacuuming and feeding the termite! A never ending task! LOL! He is already after me for lunch - he had breakfast really late, so it is not time to eat again.
Dinner will be my polsks kiebasa broccoli meal. May make some bread, but we will see if I want to dirty my clean kitchen!
Enjoy,
Jana

It is around 80, here. Hot enough we still run the AC, but not so hot that it fries your innards to walk across the parkinglot.
Not sure what I am doing, this evening. If I go out, I will stop by 7/11 for my free slurpee. Right now, I am enjoying a Black and Tan with salt crystals sprinkled on the fluffy head. The girls have been staying nearby and playing.
If I stop over to Mom''''s, I may play with my Anita''''s Arrowhead blocks. But to leave the house, I have to put more clothes on. I am at minimum for home only level, right now.
DH is stopping by to visit his chess buddy, tonight. He wants to show them a Roku, and how to use it. We do our cable channels as an app through the Roku, and save around $30 a month.
I hope everybody starts feeling better, what with tummies and hinies and dog bites.
I hope you get to play with fabric. I am tempted to start the Christmas snowman, but I want to wait untill after this Saturday, when I pick up the fabrics I will be working on with it. I still can''''t decide on WOW or Kona white. Will see what WOW''''s I see, and decide then.
Love,
Pam
