Good morning!

Well, I get a gold star! I got everything on my chore list accomplished yesterday plus a bit more! I got a small start on yard work. It's past time for another go-round in the yard so I hope to do a bit every day. then I should be good until it's time for fall clean-up. I'm letting more and more of my yard "go back to nature" but I want it a controlled nature - encourage the ferns, Oregon grape, salal, and huckleberries, but not the blackberry brambles or the tall, nasty weeds that want to intrude. Eventually, I'll have it the way I want it with less work on my part involved.

Our party for Ale was fun and he loved the gifts I made him. I made him cry. Twice. I call that a success! And Bill did get some mowing done, but there was no confrontation from Vicki. Her DD was just loading V into her car when Bill got out the tractor and brush hog. Though we don't know what she might have said to her DD. We were actually hoping to catch a violent scene on our cameras with the kids as witnesses, but it didn't happen. We wanted them to see in person how she reacts to us.

Today is walk, chiropractor, and I'm expecting my dentist to call about an appointment to fix my broken crown. In between times, I want to get more yard work done. Plus, we came home to my baby hydrangea coming into bloom. My first hydrangea ever. And it's pink! It's a girl!!

BECCA - your stir fry sounded so good yesterday that I'm going to do it today! I stocked up on lots of fresh veggies, though not at a farm, unfortunately.

TINA - you are busy, busy, busy! What kind of truck does Frankie have now? Wish your dad would go to the doc about his leg. With his medical history, it really needs to be checked out.

PAM - well, did you get your hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes? I never feel like fixing anything, but if you were to look at me, you'd see that I somehow manage to overcome that! lol!

CAROLE - sorry about your pulled muscle. But really, you should have it checked it out if it hurts that badly. And another thought - a chiropractor. My chiro has helped me a lot with some muscle problems. As has my massage therapist, too. I have a whole stable of men to keep me up and running! lol!

IRiSH - thank you for the sweet comments you put on FB for my DGS!

Supper tonite - veggie stirfry with fresh strawberries for dessert. It sounds so good right now that I almost can't wait to cook!

What about you all?

Good morning!

Mary - Here is a gold star for you! Hunted but couldn't find one, but if I could, it would be right here! Glad for no Vicki drama. And getting Alex twice, that is what Grandma's do best! Knew he would love his quilt.

Not much here. The onesie fit perfectly, so I will do a couple more today and then wait until he grows and then do more if needed. With not being able to take them off himself, he may forget and find something else to drive his mom crazy. That is what we are hoping for. I may make him a weighted quilt. Those are expensive, but help autisic children. Simple to make for a quilter. We will see.

Dinner - nachos with all the trimmings.

Enjoy!

Jana

Good morning! Remember me? I’ve been busy and just never seem to make it to my computer. It’s still hot as heck here and no rain at all. We are so dry and crispy—except the high humidity makes me melt, so guess not so crispy except the grass.

Mary—my back to nature yard seems to be weeds. I can’t believe how fast they take over. I do like our lane with all the Queen Anne’s lace, wild bergamot and black-eyed Susans , although now it looks like nothing but weeds since everything seems to have quit blooming. I wish I had a 3 or 4 seasons blooming yard! Your party was a huge success with your wonderful gifts! I’d cry, too! Can you put chemicals around your hydrangea and change the colors? For some reason I think that’s how to get the blues and lavenders, but I don’t grow them so I really have no idea.

Jana—glad you had a good fit with the onesie! I’ve never made one—just gotten the knit ones and cross stitched motifs on them. Quilting Jet Girl made a weighted quilt a few months ago on her blog. I think she used those little pellets. Yum, nachos!

I’m trying to find my sewing room and make some place mats for my sister. Going so slow… My sister-in-law was here last week. She had taken a jam making class and got a recipe. She wanted to make jalapeno blackberry jam. Of course, she knew I had blackberries and peppers… She brought sugar and jars for her THREE batches, and I did some for me. Well, I made the five batches of jam, and she took hers home. My berry stash was depleted. She wouldn’t pick because of the chiggers. LOL! I have chigger bites on top of chigger bites. I swear by Tea Tree Oil for insect bites and poison ivy!

Dinner tonight. I think I’ll give DH steak and corn. I’m going to make zucchini and squash stir fry for me.

Bon appétit!

Hi everyone ,I am back from all my travels to the South Carolina for a graduation, and to Michigan for the wedding of my great niece and a visit with my SIL . Good to be home.

Tonight for dinner we are going to have Chicken Parm, noodles for DH, salad and maybe a veggie.

Mary, lol I am taking a muscle relaxer, and Advil , and heat. If it doesn't get better in a week, I will have to do something. Can't spend my life just standing around. Lol

Well I am off to my embroidery machine. I have another great niece getting married on my birthday in September. Her mom was my niece, Jackie, that died in March. I am making her a throw of embroidered hearts. This is going to be so hard without her Mom

Going with Ken tomorrow to the surgeon that did his back. HOpefully, he will get released and start PT.

Hugs,

Carole

lol, Mary, we had chef boyardee straight out. of a can. DH ate all of his and half of mine!

Today, we will have baked chicken thighs with BBQ sauce, and cooked zuccini, and various little fresh veggie offerings.

My big event of the night will be coloring my hair.
