SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 1st
Good morning!
Looks like it's going to be about 65* and cloudy/sunny today. Acceptable. June is often a rainy month here so we'll see how it goes this year.
We are leaving in two weeks for our RV Rally. Bill and I just realized yesterday that we are in charge of a new event at our Rally (besides organizing the quilting class at the LQS there). thinking up categories like oldest rig, newest rig, longest distance traveled from home to rally, oldest dog, etc. And provide and present prizes for same. How could we have forgotten that?! So one prize is going to be a pillow, made by yours truly. I already have an extra 15" block of a cute retro trailer made up. I'll use that. We'll go shopping for the rest of them. Maybe today . .
Yesterday we did cement repairs to our parking pad outside our shop, which is close to "that property line". Knowing that Vicki's latest obsession is hosing everything off incessantly, we straddled our repairs with plywood and parked the pick-up, tractor, mower deck, and a giant rock over the plywood. And there everything will set for a few days. She can't get to it. But she was there in our faces while we were working. She looked awful, gray and terribly underweight. I asked her if she was OK. She said she was 100%. I asked her if I should call an ambulance for her and she got mad and went inside. So, problem solved! She probably remembers last time she went to the hospital two years ago she didn't come home for a month and almost got sent to a facility permanently.
LINDA - glad your zip is back!
IRiSH - I'll be thinking of your sis and her hubby. And also you! You have a lot of social options lately.
BECCA - ahhhh . . . . . enjoy that massage!
PAM - try the bracelet. Not much to lose. My now-retired younger sister, who was on her feet on cement all day in her job, wore a copper anklet and swore by it. Glad you found your fabrics!
CHICKIE - I have to ask. You don't have to answer. But after factoring in all the time, labor, materials, frustration to fix up these rentals, is there really any appreciable income from them? I hope you get a day off soon! I wouldn't mind helping you paint . . .
TINA - this will be an unforgettable experience for you and your dad and Jazz. I'm excited for you! If you want to make it even more unforgettable, toss in a cat and/or dog! lol!
JANA - I just can't believe Ethan is going into first grade! Seems like we were all just waiting for him to be born! He was an "in-arms" baby when I got to meet him! I finally told Bill that I was willing to let our RZR and tote go after the September Jamboree. As expected, he's jumping on that! lol!
BECKY - a concoction for supper. My kind of recipe! That's what's usually on our menu!
I had chicken plans for last night, but after our cement work we started a campfire in our fire ring to burn all the cement bags. Texted our usual friends to see if they were "off-island" and in town. (they live 10 miles away on Fox Island). They were and they came by with a big pizza. We supplied some wine and we had a nice time - again - with them. We relaxed the afternoon away. So the upshot is, we still have thawed chicken to fix, so I will pound it thin, bread it with Panko crumbs, brown and then bake it, and we'll have a creamy sauce over it. Sides yet to be named.
Have you named your supper yet tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 1st
Good morning! We are headed for 95 today! Summer is here with a vengeance after a late non-spring. We mowed yesterday at the rentals. Today… cutting up a tree that was downed in the storms a few nights ago. Can you believe, we have TWO down—one in town that we will do today before the city gets nasty, and another at the little house where we fixed the roof. When it rains, it pours—or in our case, the wind blows and the trees come down! DH will do the chain sawing, and I will do all the lifting and loading. I really need a clone!
Linda—My DD wants me to make her a coiled “basket” tote/purse. I just can’t seem to find the time. I’d like one myself! I remember with living with remo—toilets in the livingroom for months, it seemed! At least the rentals are there and not in my house! Contractors are noted for not picking the best schedules!
Pam—I haven’t seen a Creamsicle in years! I loved those things (still do, I’m sure!). I didn’t put out a garden this year. I plan to pick from DS’s when I walk Choc! I love the heirloom tomatoes… all tomatoes! You may need to set some have-a-heart traps for your garden pests… rabbits, rats, squirrels… Any of them can wreak havoc on a garden. DH sat out and guarded the peas and green beans… rabbit was on his menu several nights. (I cooked but didn’t partake. He said it was the best he’d ever had!)
Tina—this will be a trip of memories for all of you! Best wishes!!!
Mary—how about “Most miles traveled since last rally”? I’m sure you will come up with a better idea. I love your prizes! I wish I had your weather today! I don’t think the rentals aree worth the work, but DH seems to think so. I guess they are if they are all rented and the tenants are good and don’t require tons of cleaning and repairs and stuff when they leave. In recent years, DH hasn’t kept up on the renters like he should, and I nag which doesn’t make things better. So… I try to keep my yap shut, do the clean up, and then… RETAIL (FABRIC) THERAPY!!! You can definitely help paint! DH uses the roller, and I get to do the trim, clean up, etc. All walls everywhere are same brand and color of off white.
Dinner tonight… whatever jumps on the table after working. I always have salad for me. I really don’t enjoy cooking when I’m tired, plus the quantity is negligible. I need to do some more small dishes ahead. I haven’t had time or inclination the last few days.
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
Still in leftover mode. There is a good thing about thst, I don't have to cook!
Mary - you will come up with some great awards! How about the most states traveled in the year, or in one trip? I think you stumbled on the Vicki solution. Ask her if she needs a ambulance!
Chickie - my niece fixes meals and divdes them into their portion size and freezes them. Makes it easy for them not to waste or overeat.
Not much here, just puttering around, uglies, laundry and sewing.
Sarah's new little nephew with the down's is home doing well and will have his heart surgery in about six months. The doctors found that the heart problem was not something that needed to be done right now.
Well, the thunderstorm is rolling in for today, early and then we will get hot.
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone from asunny NC.At least for the moment.Looks great to see sunshine.
Maryz The massage was much needed. After all my yard work.Wow sounds like you solved the Vicky problem.Sure you’ll come up with great game. How about most states covered ?
Jana It’s hard to think Ethan will be entering first grade.Like some of ours.We have Tallulah & Sophie that will be going.
Chickie I think I would be on strike after having to clean & painting.Sure Wouldnt want to be creative in the Kitchen.
Tina Safe travels for you Dad & Jazz.
I’m taking it easy this afternoon so massage will work.Enjoying my porch for a change.I took my basket back & they refunded my money. But I couldn’t find a replacement. So I’ll have to go to another nursery.DD give me the money so I must come up with one.
We have BBQ chicken left & baked beans. We both loved them so no cooking except make salad. Becca

It is cooler, today. Around 70. I could stand that all summer. It may rain. I hope so. We didn't get enough, yesterday.
We have nut trees in our yard, so squirrels are here to stay. I usually get marigolds to intersperce in the garden plants - to keep the deer and what not away. Didn't do that, this year. I have had people stop by and go right down the row pulling the plants out, before. (People meaning the animal folk.)
There is a Russian festival in Erie, this weekend, and Dan wants to go. They have dancing and some sort of demonstrations, tours of the church, and food! I am keeping the options for supper open, untill I figure out if we are going, tonight.
