Good morning! After weeding yesterday and loading DH’s trailer load of wood, I was really stiff and sore this morning. I did an hour of yoga practice, and I do feel better. It was all I could do to get started. Today… Not sure. I may do more weeding, or I might decide to stay in and sew. We are going to stay here, as DS2 may be coming over to help DH work on the ZTR mower that won’t run. It worked fine on Monday but wouldn’t start yesterday to mow here.
Pam—Spam has a special place in DD and my hearts. It was a special treat when I was a single parent, and we were living hand to mouth. Usually, we got 10-cents worth of shaved bologna and called it shaved ham. There was a little neighborhood grocer who would sell such small amounts. Of course, it was 40+ years ago. DD and I would love a Spam/macaroni salad! I’ve definitely heard of it! When I took my late DH to Mayo Clinic, we always passed by the Spam company in Austin, Minn., on the trip. I wanted so badly to go see the Spam museum, but he would have none of it. It didn’t interest him at all. I was also only 11 miles from Country Threads Quilt Shop when they were in business (retired now), but he wouldn’t let me go by there. We went to several things he wanted to see. Sigh! It’s a 10-hour drive from here, so unless DD and DGD and I take a road trip, it won’t happen.
Vel—renters are terrible! We’ve only had a very few good ones. I’m going to try to get DH to raise the rent on this house and we will do the yard and keep it up. Maybe we can get some good renters… I can always dream!!!
Jana—we have a flowering crabapple in the yard here. I remember Grandma made crabapple jelly. I’ve never tried it, although this shrub/tree produces little apples.
Dinner tonight… might be some fruit of the sea with asparagus. I might fix that tortellini that never got made the other day.
Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from warm but overcast, SW. Pa....Looks like rain, feels like rain but so far, no rain.....but, wait until I decide to go out and play in the dirt and, yep, you guessed it, rain.....
Chickie, nice to see you taking care of the table again...All this talk about Spam brings back good memories..And another Spam like food is those little canned hams that you sometimes get for $2.99...I used to keep one on the shelf just in case, lol..And of course the kids would call it Spam but it was good....Isn't it funny how many places we would like to see but the male folks weren't interested..Jim and I would often go on road trips and if we'd come across something I'd like, he would always say, "Oops, we're on the wrong side of the road" and we'd keep on going...But, then I started putting his book in the car and when we'd stop, he could sit in the car and read....Darn, I miss those trips......
Becca, I did see you say, you were busy but by the sound of it, busy wasn't the right word....Have you slowed down yet? Hope you do take time to sit down and put the feet up and enjoy the day......
Mary, I have a feeling, you are home by now....Been thinking about Riley and wondering how she's doing....Did you see in one of my posts where Kathy has added a side trip to my Reno trip? If by chance you'll be in the Napa area around Labor Day, we can do some sampling....
Jana, did you get a flowering crab apple tree?...I have one right off my back porch/patio and it is gorgeous...Of course when the kids put it in, it was supposed to stay small BUT, it sure has grown...It just shed all the blossoms and it looked like it had snowed...In the fall, when the little apples drop, our deer have a feast....
Not sure what all I'm going to get into this afternoon...So far I haven't heard from Nick but if I'd text him and ask him to do something, he'd be here in 5 min...
I had a call from Cari last night and she things she and DH will be coming this way for Memorial Day weekend...Said, the baby is very, very active and doesn't like for her to eat ice cream, lol...Really looking forward to seeing her......
Does everyone have their special hat ready for the wedding? I'm kind of bummed, my invitation must have gotten lost, darn that PO service......
As for dinner, haven't a clue...Might be time to suggest going out but we'll see......
You all have a great day.....
Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!
Been drafted into helping Sarah - read finishing - a layette set for a new nephew on her DH's side. This sweet little boy has down syndrome and two defects in his heart. So far he is doing very well. The doctor's are monitoring his heart condition and surgery will be in the future. So this layette is for a handmade wooden cradle by Sarah's FIL.
Our tree is on the way. We are scrambling for some big lumberjacks to help unload it. Matt and Aaron and our neighbor all fit the bill.
Dinner - still eating through leftovers.
Break time is over,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello hello from wet Carolina. We had rain for 3 days but it does stop in between.
Irish If you call freezing 16 qts of berries putting your feet up it counts.Theres no slowing here.At least I dont have Chickies rentals. Now I must mop after all that stawberry mess.Got kitchen cleaned at least. So glad you have Nick to help,Levi is honeymooning at a resort in Mexico on a cruise. So hes mo help.
Pam Oh yes do I remember Spam.We used to eat it in the Summer when we helped work in tobacco when I was a girl.Taste very good after a days work.
Jana I have made crab apple jelly. Its quite tasty. My aunt had a tree.Very pretty when they bloom.
Chickie That yoga really helps to keep you moving freely. And you need it with the rentals.I feel for you.
Our DGDs DH come to pick up a micro wave we gave him for their new store they are opening. They are expanding over at Cherokee .Thats the Indian Reservation about 30 miles from us.
The stawberry lady was overrun with berries due to the rain. She said it may wipe them out for the year.I hope not.Last year they had them in June.
Oh now I must mop.
Its steak ,hulley beans for DH.For me steamed brocolli & turkey sausage. Becca

Hi ladies,
I know I am late. It's been a busy day. Had blood test this morning, then was treated to breakfast by my wonderful sweet husband.
Then I had to catch up on things on computer and banking, credit card, etc.
Then it looked like rain, so I got our grass mowed, plus my friend's lot. I am taking care of it until they get here late this month.
I got so sweaty and hot. Came in to cool off and got back on the computer to book our room for going to our granddaughter's graduation in June.
Now, I am going to get in the shower, then think about dinner. Thawed out a couple of nice pork chops to do on the grill.
Salad, vegi, potato. Yes, that will about do it.
Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather.
Hugs
Vel

I had a snack of spam salad, when I got home from work. DH was home, but he went up the road to BIL's place to see what mischeif they can get into, this evening. We may skip supper. Mom loved the quilting class, today. Says she learned a lot. Her back is hurting pretty bad. I hope she is going to be ok to do tomorrow .
Vel, Dan got our grass finished, yesterday. It's nice to have it done for a few days. I love the smell of fresh mowed grass.
Becca, I love strawberries, and when you preserve your food yourself, you know what's in it!
Jana, what a wonderful gift for you and Sarah to give, especially connected with the cradle.
Irish, I don't have a hat ready, but I colored my hair purple, today. It was just a wash out one, but I have been both bright pink and deep purple in the past. It kind of counts.
Chickie, I am so lucky with my DH. He has been known to look up a quilt shop and surprise me with it, while we were on a trip.
Well, DH seems to be up the road for the evening. Maybe I will have chocolate and finish the New Years bottle of champagne.
