SUPPER CLUB - Thursday 17 May

Post by FarmChick » Thu May 17, 2018 5:16 am

Good morning! Another day in Paradise! I did my yoga practice to work out all the aches and kinks from all the work we’ve been doing. We had a family gathering last evening across the road. Mary—you know which one… “Yard of the Four Seasons”. It’s beautiful, as always, and we sat out under the gazebo and visited while the stars and their little solar lights came on all over the yard. It was nice to see everyone, sit, visit, and relax!

Pam—You and I seem to be doing the same chores! I have to do all the heavy lifting, tugging, loading, etc., to save DH from himself and spending another night in the ER or worse. Who ever said women were the weaker sex were crazy! Obviously they were a man! Our rental agreements (Except the duplexes) do call for the renter to do the yard work, but… we still get nastygrams from the city by certified mail. I dread the inside cleanout. DH hadn’t kept up with the renters (even with me nagging him), and … let’s just say the utilities got turned off, and they were using the in house for an outhouse! It’s GROSS at the least. Have I mentioned I hate the rentals???

Rentals are one reason I NEED my yoga practice… calming meditation. It keeps me saner. I’m so glad I started back with it in earnest… especially now! Did I mention I hate rentals…

It’s crazy what mechanics charge. Fortunately, DS1 works on our vehicles when he has time, although we have had some healthy bills at the garage.

It’s off to town again to work. Maybe I can get home and cleaned up and play some more with Mary’s scraps. Then, I really want to put together the modern swap blocks. One thing at a time…

Dinner here… pretty much more of the same. Yogurt for me, or soup. Mainly a protein for DH. I’m going to be happy when I get the call from my dentist to come back to see him. DH goes next week for his 6-week check up and release to eat, but will always be small meals.

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Chickie - small meals can be good. Talking to my nephew last night and he is within 20 lbs of his goal. He mentioned that if he had been better at following his eating, he would be there by now. Hint for DH. Renters, critters as Aaron calls people like that have no regard for anything, even what they own. No way I would own rentals!

Dinner was changed mid Stu digging the hole for the tree. We did take out from Cafe Rio, so there are leftovers.

Stu did get the hole dug - 4 ft by 2 ft deep. Tree will be here tomorrow.

Our Bishop dropped by to see how we were feeling from being sick and offered help from the Ward to build the playset. The Ward is so wonderful to step up and help.

Beautiful day here - maybe in the 80's, but thunderstorms are on their way for tomorrow. We are in the wait 5 minute weather pattern until the snow flies again.

Matt and tribe are heading off to Yellowstone to explore and camp for a few days. He is fussing with batteries in the RV as his kids just won't leave things be, especially with the RV. Last night Matt was fit to be tied, in trying to solve the problem. Best resort will be a whole new set of batteries. CA-CHING!

Well, uglies need to be whomped into oblivion!

Enjoy,
Jana

Hi ladies.
Oh, Chickie, I know how bad renters can be. We did that for quite a few years. And we lived downstairs and renter on second story. It was a nightmare! I hated it!
Got house (RV) all clean and laundry done. Tonight is dance night. Something easy and quick for dinner. Going to do a breakfast meal. French toast and sausages. Sounds yummy to DH. That's what counts.

I made some macaroni salad with Spam in it. The girls at work decided it is a Bish thing, as they had never heard of it. The directions were right on the can. Has anybody else heard it it?

Am off to guild. Have a great evening.

Heck, you can put spam in anything! A macaroni salad would work well. Spam is just a form of ham. Here in Utah, with the Polyenisian community, they love spam and at the Hawaiian BBQ restuarants here, have a macaroni salad with spam. Normal here!
