Putting God above all Else
1 Kings 11:1-13

With all God had given him, how could someone as wise as Solomon get so far off of the narrow path of obedience and so far away from the Lord's ways? Could it be that his wisdom turned out to be a point of pride? Did he think that he was the one responsible for all his wealth and blessings, and not God?

For half of his 40-year reign, jkSolomon seems to have exercised his wisdom in ways that pleased God. But little mention is made of his prayer life during these years. He presented sacrifices at the temple three times a year, but there is no record of his conversations with God during those visits. perhaps the temple visits became merely a formality.

Sometimes I think that is how church attendance has become for so many--a formality. I know it says for where there are 2 or more God is there and many take this as they can worship on a boat on a lake, in a tent camping, sitting by a campfire or even on the couch at home. Yet, the Bible also tells us that we must commune with fellow worshipers Hebrews 10:24-25, Ephesians 4:11-13 and Colossians 3:16 are some good references.

Make sure your worship is not just a robotic worldly routine. Make it a Godly routine of true devotion to HIM.

This Sunday is Friendship Sunday at our church and we are to invite our friends to church. You all are my friends and I invite each of you to attend your church this Sunday. Oh, and if you're in my neck of the woods you are always welcome at mine:) God bless.

Hugs and prayers
Izzy

Satan has so many weapons in his arsenal! Pride and justifaction are two of his best!

When you attend church, there is a synergy that happens. Each person bringing insight they have learned about the gospel teachings, sharing, and helping each of us learn. We are able to withstand the adversary's tools.

The sabbath is the Lord's day, a chance for us to stop, rest, and reflect on all He does for us. He only asks for one day in seven. We can be in His service on that day. In our home, we have tried diligently to observe the Sabbath day, by attending our meetings and not making anyone else work on Sunday. No shopping, going out to eat or even buying gas. I plan and make sure all is ready ahead of Sunday. Time after our meetings can be spent reading scriptures, writing letters and visiting with a member of the Ward that may need us for something. There are many ways to be of service.

Thanks Izzy.
We can also add Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
In our World today it seems people don’t Honor God by keeping it Holy.Satan is always trying to put snares in our path.
Where your Heart is there your treasure will be also.We must keep our Hearts & minds on things of the Lord. Becca
