Humbled in His Presence
The magnificent temple was finally complete. All the furnishings had been installed. The ark of the Lord was in the Most Holy Place. Then, before the ribbon cutting celebration could proceed, God's presence in the form of a dark cloud filled the temple. the huge crowd must have been awestruck. Solomon raised his arms toward heaven, silencing the assembly, and began his prayer.
When you come before God in prayer, one way you know you are in His presence is your sense of humility before Him. You can't be full of yourself and filled with His Spirit at the same time. You will always be humbled whenever you realize that this awesome GOD--whom the heavens cannot contain--is willing to come and live inside you through HIS Holy Spirit.
